True American Godzilla
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-25-2014 4:37 PMWe all know that the American Godzilla will have an Atomic Breath/Atomic Heat Ray, but what will it be like? Conisdering this is a realistic take on the original 1954 Gojira (pictures below)
So if the above is the original form, then how would a realistic form be? Would it still have a powerful punch? Will it only be super intense heat and nuclear radiaton? What will the atomic breath be for our Godzilla?

It will most likely be something similar to the Atomic Breath from the more recent Godzilla films. I just hope that the color and sound are the same as the classic Atomic Breath

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-25-2014 5:06 PMyeh i agree, the millenium blue godzilla beam seems more powerful and just has an awe to it, the vapour breath from the early showa just seems too weak and unimpressive.

That would a good look for this thing. In blue, of course.

MemberTitanosaurusJan-25-2014 5:14 PMLike a, well, "atomic" weapon, I believe that the atomic breath should just be a concentrated stream of instantaneous vaporization of anything it makes contact with bar the largest of rival monsters. No explosions everywhere or a simply pushing debris around. If it collides with a building, it should just leave a big atomic breath width-sized hole that's nearly molten around the edges and causes geiger-counters to go ballistic.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-25-2014 5:31 PMi think it should be a comination of the classic blue millenium breath with gman123's idea, where it should be explosive but can instanly vapourize anything near the breaths impact radius. also he shouldn use it very limited in the film to keep it's awe and awsomeness. the concentarted steam may seem realistic but for a huge budget cgi hollywood film most audiences are going to find that a bit boring. (remember dragonabll evolution)

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-25-2014 5:49 PMI think it should be visible but definitely more realistic. I agree with the more recent movies having along the lines of what I'd like to see. Some explosions aren't bad... if you vaporize part of something explosive what doesn't get vaporized would still go boom. I agree he shouldn't use it that much in the film... although I hope there's one scene where he does go ape-s*** crazy with it since that always demonstrates how powerful he is (think in GMK when he took out the entire army)

godzillafan1995
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-25-2014 5:52 PMthat would be amazing, godzilla showing his rage, maybe he will go ape shit if they fired a nuke at him, also like that scene from godzilla 1984 when he reaches the tokyo docks and annihilates the army.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-25-2014 7:55 PMI think his breath will be way more powerful and it will probably be either blue or orange (I am hoping blue) and it probably uses up a lot of his energy so he has to recharg after each time he fires his beam.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-25-2014 8:08 PMAll im saying is that it should look like GMK's,

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-25-2014 9:40 PMJudging by the official toy that had 2 items (Book and Box) displayed next to it, I have a feeling it will be blue. cuz i had some sort of blue thing in its mouth.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-25-2014 10:02 PMI think it will be like GMK Godzilla atomic breath, powerful.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-25-2014 11:45 PMThe physics of radiation escape me, as I'm no radiation expert, however I do know that it's much more complicated than just "gas" or "concentrated beam of vaporization" that has been discussed thus far.
As far as Godzilla's thermonuclear breath is concerned, it's going to be very difficult to make it believable and realistic in any way. Having a monster like Godzilla be able to charge and release a concentrated beam of radiation is about as practical as asking a puppy to shoot acid from its nostrils while lacking the necessary sac or gland that actually provides the acid in the first place. Begin born of radiation, if that is indeed Godzilla's origin give the fact that we haven't confirmed how he is born or created yet, does not automatically grant Godzilla immunity to the forces which created him.
Godzilla's radioactive properties are the result of exposure to radiation fallout. Having absorbed it and grown from it, Godzilla does have resistance to it, but again it's not guaranteed immunization. If you ask anyone who actually studies radiation, they'll give you a more detailed explanation why this is the case.
I've seen a lot of Godzilla fans on this site saying that Godzilla could withstand a nuke or even absorb it and grow stronger.
BZZZT!!
The shockwave alone would vaporize Godzilla, to say nothing of the heat and sheer volume of radiation given off by the initial blast. As big as he is, and despite being born of radiation, Godzilla is not impervious to a nuclear blast. The radioactive properties he gained from the fallout still don't give me a reason to actually buy into his ability to take it and concentrate it into a beam from his mouth. This ability has confounded me ever since I was a kid. And yes, even then, I didn't believe his breath was something that should have existed but I never questioned it that at that time because I thought it was badass.
So... how can he have a radiation breath?... I don't know.
It still doesn't make sense how he can concentrate radiation into a focused beam. Radiation doesn't just grant you whatever powers you want, so Legendary better have done their research on this because this is probably going to be the single most difficult part of Godzilla's design to make believable. Finding a way for him to realistically be able to gather and focus radiation into a beam, good luck Legendary!
As long as it looks badass and has some kind of explanation I can understand, I'm good.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-20-2014 10:05 PMThis is easy.
Godzilla would be immune to any atomic plasma.
Godzilla cannot be harmed or killed by the very thing that created it.
In fact, it makes total sense that this would be Godzilla's natural weapon.
Godzilla is killed at the end of the original 1954 movie by an oxygen destoying weapon
IMO Godzilla's Nuclear Breath should be a blinding flash like a nuclear bomb ignition and a ray of pure energy destroying everything it touches.
No Nulcear Breath?
Then its not Godzilla.
