MemberMothra LarvaeJan-10-2014 9:54 PMSince the teaser has surfaced on the internet, many people have been speculating whether or not a MUTO could be attacking the train, which is most likely. There probably wouldn't even be much of a sequence considering Godzilla's pumped up size and power. But if it was Godzilla, I'll get to it later.
...But for now, I will be talking about the MUTO. In the first shot, seen at full speed, it looks as if a big piece of the exterior of the train is being ripped off. However, according to the screenshots and slowed down footage, it is now clear that it wasn't part of the train and that instead it was the MUTO's mouth. After studying the slowed down footage some more, it starts to look like the head is tilted sideways (you can also see what appears to be it's eye, which is the dark spot). Following the same "tilted head" theory, the purplish blob may be the same thing was what the new Godzilla has at the end of his mouth (some dianosaurs may have this as well). Other than it being the head, it could also be a retractable claw, the same as a praying mantis.
Now for the "NO, GODZILLA IS ATTACKING THE TRAIN" theory: in the second shot which shows people laying on the floor of the falling train, at the far right you can see something dark move. It could be Godzilla's claw or his foot. The texture even looks the same as his hand's in the last part of the trailer
Who else other than Gareth and and the writers know what attacked the train? Maybe it could have been both. We just have to wait and see...

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-10-2014 11:01 PMPerhaps two different trains? Lol but yeah im serious, the first shot does not look like godzilla destroying it, only a different monster of that shape and color, and the scene where people are dead lying everywhere with a train stomped probably looks more like godzillas, there could be two trains in the movie getting destroyed

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-10-2014 11:12 PM@DRAGONLORD TEVIN I'm talking about the first train sequence. There are two shots of the same train being destroyed. I do agree with the 2nd train near the end being attacked by Godzilla.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-11-2014 10:50 AMThe Monster attacking the train is clearly not Godzilla. It may be one of the Mutos, but I haven't seen the airport trailer, so I can't make a comparsion.
Or it is another monster, we haven't heard of yet. You never know.
