MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 1:36 PMLooks a little 'muted', especially the dorsal spikes. Blue atomic breath!

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 1:37 PMLook at the poster of his tail and then this picture. That toy looks like crap lol. So far what I've seen of the big G he looks awesome, but that toy looks mediocre to me.

AdminSpaceGodzillaDec-27-2013 1:39 PMNot exactly what I was expecting. Do you have a link to where you foud this image?

Adam Dork
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 1:40 PMGot a source?
Sorry this looks awfully fake. Considering they are using kaji behind the GODZILLA in the logo (not a Z) in the US (I have an official shirt), I am calling BS.

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaDec-27-2013 1:48 PMKind of looks like they went at great lengths to create a fake... Or it's just a very underdetailed toy...

InstinctiveGigan
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 1:49 PMSeriously? This looks totally legit. If it's real, blue atomic breath confirmed. Plus guys I don't know if you've ever gotten toys that came with books, but they kinda aren't the best looking.

dinoboy22
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 1:52 PMi guess the spikes are less spiky to prevent injury to children so that doesnt surprise me. the tail looks kind of thick and looks like the spikes dont glow so that kind of dissapointing. i guess its okay for a toy. hope the movie one is more impressive

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 1:54 PMIm pretty sure that toy is a fake because all the Godzilla toys need too be more cooler

Ghosty
Veteran MemberMemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 1:54 PMIt's hard to state it is fake. Since I have never seen a Godzilla figure that resembles this, or even has any of the distinct pattterns on this toy.
We may have to face the fact that this is just a really crappy toy. The boxes and such could easily have been photoshopped, and if somebody wished to with time and effort they could make one, either to look crappy or truly trying to fool people. Either way only time can really tell us if this is fake or real, hopefully it isn't the latter.
At the first light of this Unrelenting Dawn, all will see the world for it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s entirety, not just it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s shadows.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 1:56 PMIs this supposed to be the lil' figure that goes with the children's book?
"Daddy's home- cake every night,"

Zillamaster55
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 1:57 PMThe box is photoshopped. If you look, there's a distinct shadow running along the crease of the box. This suggests that the light source is coming FROM the box, not towards it.
Either bad marketing or a well-done fake.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 1:58 PMI am with those folks that think this is a fake too. Looks pretty chintzy to me.

Xenotype
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 2:00 PMIf it is for a childrens book it looks fine but for a proper toy, the figure and especially the packaging seems too underwhelming... id imagine a legit toy to have the sort of open packaging with a "try me" button or something, to see Godzilla make lights and noises.

InstinctiveGigan
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 2:00 PM@ZILLAMASTER55 Or you have a keen eye. And of course it's photoshopped, every marketing display of toys is usually done with Photoshop.

xxsaberblackcrow
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 2:03 PMI no these are not the toys because the box is photoshopped and the toys will come on jan so there,s no way they could reveald the toys that early

dinoboy22
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 2:07 PMif this real i doubt that the entire line will look like this. i do think this real though even if it does look like crap

Duratok
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 2:11 PM@ZillaMaster55,
Photoshop is used in advertising more than anything else. Being able to see how it's been altered doesn't qualify this as being fake.

Daikaiju Danielle
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 2:13 PMIt's for children, guys. So it's not going to look as detailed as the other figures.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 2:13 PMI really like his... mane?
it looks like a chibi if u ask me; is an ornament to keychain?

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 2:18 PMi just hope the kids dont think the toys are crap

Akio123
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 2:19 PMIf this is real, the toy looks like one of those simple cheap toys. HOWEVER, we all know that the Godzilla in the Movie looks incredible, Also, the spikes on the book, and the toy are FAR from what they looked like in the trailer. BUT I do like how his arms are lizard/human-like. Rather than T-Rex-like. You all feel let down because you expected an exact detail on detail life-like movie quality expensive holy mother model. Just remember, this is a simple toy that comes with the book. Calm down! Im sure you will not complain about his design when you see him moving around destroying everything in his path when you watch the movie.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 2:36 PMI'm more bemused by a lack of any identifiable manufacturers logo. Toys are plastered with them, this one has nothing.

Can of Conspiracy
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 2:59 PMThe manufacturer's (Running Press) logo is clearly visible on the side/spine of the box.
If you look up pictures of some of their other box-sets, such as the "Light-up Starship Enterprise Mega Mini Kit," you'll find that those have the same package type Running Press used with this one.
The logo also has the red kanji behind the "GODZILLA" text. Anyone who thinks it's a Z - please find a better/bigger copy of the pic.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 3:18 PMI love the attitude that fans have, they somehow can tell if something is magically fake based on how much they dislike something. Same thing happened when they started revealing new Pokemon for X and Y and how people, up until they got their copy of the game, didn't believe it.
That being said. I'd say I'm 60% sure this is real. It just seems like a really silly thing to fake; but I could be wrong.

GIYGAS
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 6:14 PMThis looks like the kind of cheap toy that little kids get from McDonalds.
FOR SCIENCE OF COURSE!

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 7:36 PMTotally fake, what a JOKE!!

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-27-2013 8:32 PM@ZILLAMASTER55 - Your analysis leaves something to be desired my friend. The only light source that I can see is the one that is obviously in front of the three different objects. In fact, the ONLY thing I can see that would even begin to suggest photoshop is that the book casts no shadow at all. Aside from that, the box and the toy are obviously real and in the shot.
I've got a good eye for things like this, and photoshop is the first thing disgruntled fans often shout. It's like the boy who cried wolf. You don't like it, you call it fake without checking sources for it first. You want to find a source, look for it yourself. Or are you too lazy and scared to do so because you fear you might find it authentic?
If you guys want a source for this, just search for it yourselves. Lazy bums.
