This is a reboot, not a remake so I don't think they'd go as far as to bring old characters back.

And you're calling me a fanboy, really? I really do not think that is the proper classification for me, considering the fact that I am being critical of the film and not being all like "OMG I havn't even sein the movee yet, but it is alreddy tha best godzilla movee by far!"
@Greenman, Ok, maybe "uninteresting" was a little bit strong. But I do find the character to be heavily overlooked. I do not give a flip whether or not he will be in the film.

Yes, the name Dr. Serizawa is attached to this film - but it could be a son, grandson, nephew - we don't know for sure. While this movie is a nod to the 1954 no one said this would be a remake.
Lets also remember in the 1954 film - there was no other monster being fought by Godzilla.
