I know that we've heard that Legendary only secured the rights to Godzilla and that no other Toho monsters will make an appearance in Godzilla (2014), but at the same time I'm curious. At Comic-Con, when asked about classic monsters being features in the new Godzilla movie, Gareth specifically said he would neither confirm or deny any rumors of classic monsters making an appearance. Was he just teasing? Or has the studio secured rights to another monster or other monsters for the new Godzilla film and they're planning for it to be a major surprise for the fans? Their origin, from the currently released plot description suggests that they are man-made creations. By accident I'm assuming. Judging by the comic-con panel video descriptions, we're told these "bugs" are significantly smaller than Godzilla, so could these have only been members to a larger Monster? I expect Legendary will be keeping a tight lid on their new Monsters, but it is possible they could resemble Kumonga or Kamacuras. It needs to be a new monster. Perhaps larvae or a smaller Instar to something that gets much bigger and deadlier with a "big reveal" metamorphosis. Godzilla killing the offspring of another monster would give it reason enough to go berzerk is a possibility. Again, a new Godzilla needs a new monster.

1. "One thing is for certain, Godzilla does face off against a few insect-like Monsters. Their origin, from the currently released plot description suggests that they are man-made creations." Only one monster has been revealed so far. The supposed centipede monster in the test footage will not be in the movie. 2. That one monster in this year's Comic Con teaser was only vaguely insectoid. It had 4 legs, whereas insects have 6. It will probably not be a true insect. In fact, it will probably be something totally different. 3. What makes people ALWAYS come to the assumption that bug monsters slightly smaller than Godzilla will ALWAYS have a queen? Not all arthropods have queens... 4. Who the hell wants either of these monsters in the movie anyway!? They are both so unoriginal and suck total balls. We need new, powerful, and unique monsters for this new movie. Kumonga- Can shoot web from its mouth and jump pretty high Kamacuras- Can only fly Do you really want both of these weak-ass monsters that Godzilla will easily curbstomp as his two foes in this movie? We need something cool and powerful for Godzilla to fight.

Maybe Kamercuras are named M.U.TO.S

The M.U.T.O. design is is going to be a be a bug (maybe)

The Kamercuras are are bugs and if mutos are too M.U.T.O. is codename for Kamercura

There will be no Toho Kaiju in this movie besides Godzilla himself. That has been confirmed numerous times throughout the years and the idea that two lesser known and not very well liked Kaiju like Kumonga and Kamakura would be brought into this film are slim to none.

I know a lot of people want to see revisions of Toho Kaiju, but here's a fact that none of them want to hear: Not all Kaiju age well or deserve to be revisited with modern technology or filming techniques.

None of the Toho Kaiju besides Godzilla himself deserve to be recreated in my eyes. They all have their place in the Toho archives and in the movies that we know and love so much. But that's also just it: They should stay there. The Toho lineup doesn't need a revision, revival, or revisit. Godzilla is more than enough on his own. Despite how cool some of the Toho Kaiju are, they don't deserve a spot in the Legendary franchise, nor do they even need to be revisited at all. They're fine the way they are.
