Think back, way back to when you saw your first Godzilla movie. What made you a fan of Godzilla initially? Was it the look of Godzilla himself? Was it the story? What made you a fan? Let us know by replying below!

Hey Guest, want to add your say?
Hi im new here! My name is Katie and I'm a 24yr old scorpio woman. I've been a godzilla fan ever since my dad first showed me the movies when I was a little girl! He had a bunch of the classics recorded on VHS and several of the official VHS/DVD releases too as well as scale models of G2000 Godzilla and King Ghidora ... every time one of the movies came on tv[especially ones not in his collection] we would schedule around to watch it together. My dad's all time favorite Godzilla movie is the original King Kong vs Godzilla(Its also hard to find copies of) so getting a chance to see this remake in theaters together was a really awesome experience!!!
the continuous action and the array of Monsters involved in the Godzilla movies. The first one I saw was in Black & White in 1957, never seen anything like it till then - I was hooked immediately
Just the way he looked, I love the way he knows nothing can beat him but he also protects the earth. If earth is being destroyed he destroys them. And his atomic breath, AWESOME!
I didn't watch a movie to get in to the Godzilla Universe. I think I saw a picture of Godzilla and then started to look some information of it. Then I watched movies. That's My story.

We've had quite a few new members join up since GvK hit. Welcome to everyone new to these forums! Happy to have you!

I was in a restaurant and saw a shot of helicopters flying over enormous footprints. I immediately got interested. Turned out, that was the TriStar Godzilla. It was not long before G'14 came out, and that film made me a fan. I visited the classics and fell in love with this franchise. I have been a lurker for a long time.
By the way, I'm Chinese, so I might be a rarity here.
hello guys hmmm what made me a Godzilla fan was Godzilla's original movie Gojira that's what got me hooked

Summer of 1988. I was seven years old, and already a huge King Kong fan. I saw that King Kong Vs. Godzilla was showing on TBS one afternoon, and I started watching it halfway through. I was watching it for Kong, but by the end of the movie, I was hooked on Godzilla. All throughout 2nd and 3rd Grade, I absolutely devoured every Godzilla VHS I could get my hands on. I don't know what it was I loved so much about Godzilla, but it's a fascination that's never left me.
I started with the Death Battle of Godzilla vs Gamera on Youtube, but that was only a small taste of what I realized I was getting myself into. It wasn't until I watched my first ever Godzilla movie, Godzilla 2014, that I really saw just how intimidating and powerful he really was. Seeing him an action as well as watching many of the other original kaiju in action really solidified my interest. LONG LIVE THE KING!

Ever since seeing the 2014 Godzilla, I was intrigued by it and began watching the showa, heisei, and millennium Godzilla films, and have become a big Godzilla fan ever since.

I have no clue. At first, I was going to watch a Godzilla movie ( forgot which) I was upset because I thought godzilla was weird. After that movie, I was like," ok.. he isn't that bad." After 2 months of that movie, I suddenly became addicted to his movies and topic. I don't know what happened, but it just did.

My first Godzilla movie I watched was Godzilla the original 1954 film on HBOMAX and I can’t believe that I was able to watch it! The best part was when he peaked out over the hill like “ hello! Get ready to DIE!”

W E L C O M E!

the Godzilla of 1998, i loved that movie and i wanted to know more about godzilla and i found out his true design, from that day i was a big fan of godzilla

When I was 4, my to favorite things were superheroes and dinosaurs. Godzilla is a dinosaur with superpowers. It was great, even now I love the nostalgia of watching Godzilla vs Megalon for the 50th time. Now it's hard to believe it, but a couple guys in a rubber suit is still a big part of who I am. Rodan and Anguirus are my favorites, they are underrated and cool characters. I am hoping to see Anguirus and Rodan in the monsterverse, as Rodan got little screen time and Anguirus never showed up at all.

I became a Godzilla fan when i randomly founded his page on Wikipedia. Then the next year, I watched then-recent Shin Godzilla, and i was blown away by the way he looked like. Then I watched both 1998 and 2014 film, and so on.
I still absolutely love Shin Godzilla to this day.
hello,
i am Aramis Thandeka, from india to share some thoughts with you all, i hope you like it

Was never a fan of Godzilla personally i only liked some of the movies. I liked Ghidorah better.

My first Godzilla movie was Ghidorah: The Three-Headed Monster. What made me a fan? The long plethora of monsters to indulge in. Whether it be Godzilla or Ghidorah, Battra or Monster X, I've always loved a series with hours upon hours of lore and concepts. They're fun to watch, I mean who wouldn't find a giant lizard crushing cities cool? But I like deep-diving into the lore most of all -- thinking about where Ghidorah came from or which is truly the strongest monster, y'know?

It was actually exposure to 1933's King Kong, leading to me watching King Kong vs. Godzilla, and then I began watching Cinemassacre's Godzilla-thon, that's pretty much what did it.

So I love football and in all those managerial games where you have to take care of your football, I always used to have defensive strategies. The first time, I learned about Godzilla was due to its tremendous ability to sustain and weather the storm. Now, its one of my fav character in any universe.

I come from a family of heavily mixed ethnicity across Asia. Most of all, I am Taiwan aborigine - Japanese. My people were enslaved by Japanese during the war and persecuted mercilessly if we didn’t throw our ancient culture away and adapt the Japanese lifestyle. I am not sore towards my Japanese family, history is a nasty thing, but I feel for my Japanese family too. They lost everything during the war, experienced Atomic hellfire, and their friends fallen from the aftermath.
Godzilla, has united my family from both ends. Godzilla has created unity, and for that I am grateful beyond words. My Japanese ancestors had been following Godzilla from the very beginning since it first released. My indigenous tribe appreciate the accuracy and respect to our culture portrayed in Mothra’s films. Even since the 1960s, portraying native culture not as cannibalistic savages, but sympathetic beings who have been bothered too many times by invaders. And the lore across Mothra’s character is incredible and contrasts so well to my culture, while still a fresh take in their own right.
I have watched every Godzilla movie since Godzilla VS Biollante (1989) when they debut in theatres whenever I visited my family in Japan, and watched every last Godzilla movie through subsequent home-video release. Over my childhood into my adulthood, I have acquired a vast Godzilla collection, and I love to read the supplemental details from the books and novelization, or the old pamphlets they given out at the theatres.
P.S, I despise the new American Monsterverse with a burning passion, but the 2014 film is okay, before they franchise it.
My first year of encountering the interest in Godzilla The King of The Monsters Himself was all the way back in the year completely complete named and legiterally/literally called "2014" and all the way back then in that year I was 6 years old and I encountered the interest in him on a "2014" Godzilla Movie TV Spot and that's the only one epic, awesome, precious, based and cool moment part where I first got the encounter of my first time having interest because then after that I legiterally/literally just went immediately/instantly drawing him on paper when I 6 years old that time in the year completely complete named and legiterally/literally called "2014" but finally now like 8 or 9 years later I am like 13 years old during now in this year 2022 and I am still a OG godzilla fan still loving the MV Titanus Godzilla Incarnation aka MV Titanus G21-22 and the only reason why I say "22" in the name MV Titanus G21-22 because I first of all know that he is/he's gonna have a TV Series Show/Show Series this year and also "Godzilla Vs Kong 2" aka The 2nd Sequel GVK Movie LOL
