Think back, way back to when you saw your first Godzilla movie. What made you a fan of Godzilla initially? Was it the look of Godzilla himself? Was it the story? What made you a fan? Let us know by replying below!

Hey Guest, want to add your say?

Growing up I was first introduced to Godzilla through the Shogun Warriors toyline (Jumbo Machinders in Japan). Godzilla and Rodan were included in the line. However the main characters in the line were Raydeen, Great Mazinga, Daimos, Gaiking and Dragun. My parents got me the Shogun Godzilla for Christmas. It was one of my favorite toys growing up.
Also around this time I was captivated by the Godzilla Comicbook published from Marvel. Issue #3 was my first introduction to Marvel Comicbooks. This particular issue had the Champions facing off against Godzilla. This was one of the books that got me interested in reading comics as well.
I watched most of the Showa Era films growing up as well as Godzilla 1985.
Also was lucky to get the Godzilla NES game on the original Nintendo.

King Kong vs Godzilla.
I was a big King Kong fan having seen it on TV when I was quite you. More so than Godzilla (which I had also seen on TV), but seeing this at the drive-in at 8 years old. Godzilla + Kong in color!! I was hooked.
Because i liked him so mutch at the frist godzilla 2014 and godzilla king of the monsters and i cant whait to see godzilla vs kong.
I enjoyed watching Godzilla for the first time and then bought a Godzilla game CD.

I became a Godzilla fan because my brother Peydon and I both always loved to watch monster-themed movies and Godzilla was one of the ones we would always act out.

I don't remember starting to like Godzilla, but my parents say when I was 2 years old. Now my room is filled with Godzillas, and happy to be a G fan.
I started to become a Godzilla fan since I was 13 years old. I love the king of the monsters himself. I love it how he protects the humans from any villain that has threatened the human race. Go Godzilla. I love him.

It always fascinated me seeing all these crazy monsters, and seeing new ones with each old movie I found. I instantly fell in love with the designs, Especially Rodan, Gigan, and King Ghidorah. It was the New Monsterverse Movies that really Revived my love for the franchise, and I love the direction that the series is taking. Visually, at least.
I still remember when I was a kid like around 6 or 7 years old. The first Godzilla movie I've seen was Godzilla vs King Ghidorah (the 91 film). "Yeah I started in the Heisei era" Although I didn't see the whole movie at the time. I was changing channels on my TV and came across the scene where Godzilla was fighting Mecha King Ghidorah. After seeing that fight I instantly became a godzilla fan at an early age. I bought the toys or asked my mom to buy me Godzilla toys lol. Even now as an adult I feel like my fandom for Godzilla has grown over the years. I actually got back into collecting the figures even figures I use to have as a kid. I also collect the movie posters, Statues and merch. I actually want to have my own godzilla themed room one day.

Hello. I've been a kaiju fan for years, starting in grade school with Sunday afternoon Godzilla films, Rodan on VHS, and the late 70's Kong. Loved them all, loved the remakes, but something got me into apes so I'm all for Kong this time around. Glad to see this finally coming to fruition.

Being into mythological beasts and legendary monsters, and the films from Universal, I had books on the subject, one of which had Godzilla versus King Kong. Made me pay more attention when my father watched old Godzilla movies on Sunday afternoons. Then owning Rodan and King Kong on VHS had us playing with plastic dinosaurs and gorillas, reenacting battles from the screen. Was thrilled with Peter Jackson's Kong, and Shin Godzilla. These Legendary films are a brilliant addition to the legacy of these monsters.

Hi im Jonah Im 17 been a fan since i was little i was adopted, i didn't have much as a child. The first Godzilla i watched was Gmk which was my favorite as Godzilla was menacing and the story was great.Other movies were great like Godzilla 2000, Godzilla 1992 and i'love to start discussions and maybe get Toho attention to bring back The Heisei or give a sequel to Gmk or Tokyo sos. But i dont want sound desperate but i wish someone can hook me up with theater exclusive bandai figure as i didnt have a figure to have on the shelve, ill be very gratefully for whoever can help me :)
I became a Godzilla fan by watching Godzilla Vs MechaGodzilla. Every time they made a new Godzilla movie I would spend my money and watch it!

I was hooked after watching the trailer for Godzilla: King Of The Monsters. High stakes, giant monsters, brilliant visual effects, Millie Bobby Brown, and watching Kong: Skull Island was enough to hook me on. And I liked KOTM! And Godzilla Vs Kong looks awesome, so now I'm extra-hooked!

Well where else would you find fans rooting for the monsters? I guess everywhere nowadays! Seriously though, it is about the myth, the monsters and the story behind the character that made me a huge Goji fan! and I love monster (kaiju) movies and to me Godzilla is the King of the Monsters!!
My first Godzilla experience was with 1998 Godzilla in NYC. When it came out and was put on TV, I was probably 5 years old at that point. My dad and I would watch all the time and after the movie ended, I’d ask to rewatch it. I learned shortly after that there were other/older movies with other monsters. I was hooked since.
It all started on December 25th 2014 or 2015 when I got a toy of Godzilla 2014 and the Godzilla 2014 movie I loved the movie I was a King Kong fan until I watched Godzilla 2014 then I got Godzilla vs Hedorah, then Godzilla King of the Monsters, then Godzilla 2000, then Godzilla final Wars with Godzilla Tokyo S.O.S. I wouldent be a Godzilla fan without Godzilla 2014.
the first godzilla movie I ever watched was the original godzilla vs mechagodzilla. and once the credits rolled, my tiny,undeveloped,8-yearold brain was blown apart and I instantly became a g-fan.

Mine was 2014 Godzilla. He looked so cool when I first saw him on screen. When I heard about the 1998 one, I watched it and first I liked the design but it was kinda terrible because he looked like a T-Rex but I still liked him.
I discovered Godzilla when I was very young, probably when I was 10. The first Godzilla movie I seen was the 1998 version. I didn't like the movie that much but when after a few months I seen Godzilla 2014, and it was an awesome movie, it introduced me to Godzilla for the first time. The design and raw power that he had and the atomic breath!!! That killed the MUTO in the most amazing way possible. My love for Godzilla grew when I seen King of the monsters. Since the Legendary incarnation is the first one I have ever seen, I have a connection to the Legendary Godzilla. I have read everything about legendary Godzilla, the backstory, comics and tagging famous Godzilla YouTubers with theories about the upcoming movie. I'm just a really big Godzilla fan here to express my love about him. I will devote my whole life to the Big G.
I love GODZILLA because the 1954 movie represented nuclear warfare because of WW2 and that GODZILLA was a result of that.

Oh boy...
So, the first Godzilla film I've ever seen was Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, however, it was the ending scene where Godzilla Jr. was revived.
A few years before that though, I ended up finding some Bandai figures. They were the Bandai Kiryu (I think?) and the Bandai fusion series Gigan, which I ended up grabbing because it was the only interesting toy at the time.
After that, my brother and I watched the 1998, Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, and Final Wars films during a Scy-Fy kaiju marathon, which instantly got us interested in it. Then when the 2014 film was announced, we begged our dad to go see it, and we did! At the time, we were still somewhat little, so it was the best movie ever to us. We were obsessed and would watch it every day on demand after it came out on home video.
We watched nearly almost every Toho film, owning quite a few, and we've seen every Monsterverse film so far, awaiting the release of GvK. Really hoping it's as good as the trailers look!
I'd like to add, I'm personally waiting for the Singular Point release, as I definitely need a new anime to watch after AOT ends. Really hoping it's a huge step-up from the Earth series.
I suppose my love for Godzilla came from my 14 year long love and obsession for dinosaurs. I'm not interested much in them anymore, but I am definitely interested in Godzilla and the franchise.
What made me a Godzilla fan? I remember watching my first Godzilla movie which was Godzilla (2014). And just watching a giant monster stomping through the streets of San Francisco was amazing And it was entertaining to me just watching giant creatures fight. And when Godzilla fired his atomic breath into the female MUTO's mouth was just fantastic. And ever since then my passion for Godzilla has grown and I am hyped for the New Godzilla vs Kong film and I just cannot wait!
My first godzilla experience was godzilla 98'. I actually am probably the only person that likes this film and loved the animated series. But when I saw legendary godzilla for the first time in 2014, I was a fan for live. #GodzillaWins2021
When i was little i loved dinosaurs my dad noticed and showed me Godzilla and i exploded of fanboy energy
I became a Godzilla fan because I love when Godzilla destroys cities and monsters

I remember seeing godzilla 2000 millenium. I dont know how I saw it but i did and that made me get into godzilla. thee films also a quarter of the reason my favorite godzilla is miregoji

I was probably 10 or 11 when I became a Godzilla fan. My dad took my brother and I to see Godzilla (2014) and I was blown away. I had never seen a Godzilla movie before and I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. So cool, that I had to check out the older movies to see what they were like. And here I am, in college, having seen every Godzilla movie and a lot of others as well (Gamera, King Kong, etc.).
Godzilla has always been something that I've been aware of, but it wasn't until Spotify put the original theme on my discover weekly back in 2017 that I started to pay attention. In my first day of film studies class at university I announce KoTM was my favorite movie just to see what the pretentious as hell professor would say, and I spent the rest of the year named 'godzilla girl' (I never did film studies after that semester lol). It's kind of been a downward spiral of working through the old movies/media/studies since!

Hello everybody,
Good question! My introduction to Godzilla was in the age of 6, when I watched KING KONG VS. GODZILLA (1962) on TV. Later while later, I also watched the 1981 anime adaptation of Osamu Tezuka's Unico, which made me also an anime fan.
Ever since I am passionate about Japan, it's society, culture, history and of course entertainment industry with Big G as my center.
My first Godzilla movie was Godzilla Vs Destoryah which I watched at 6 years old then watched several more and I almost now finished with the franchise My favorite Godzilla movie was Godzilla Vs Kong!
I saw Godzilla Vs Destoryah when I was 6, and then saw the rest of the movies(accept for a few). My favorite was Godzilla Vs Kong it was so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved how cool he looked and the story of the first Godzilla film I ever saw (Godzilla 1954). From then on, I was a Godzilla fan.

i first came into contact with toho films when i was about 12 years old. we had a cinema here that held a youth show for the kids on saturdays. so you could watch films for 2 marks (that's about 90 cents converted). so i know a lot of gojira movies.

i don't want to advertise here, i use deepl instead of the google translator. it costs nothing and simply has the better AI. so if my english doesn't match, please excuse me.
greetings from aschaffenburg
ps: before I forget, of course Team Gojira!
Hi!
I discovered Godzilla and his world as a kid when kaiju movies were broadcast on TV on Saturday afternoons. I always loved Godzilla, and Destroy All Monsters really sealed the deal for me.
Years later I was able to buy bootleg videotapes with subtitle (before DVDs were available) and that really amazed me.
It's pretty amazing that something which was considered laughable back when I was young is now hitting its highest popularity!
