The 50th Anniversary of Godzilla vs. Megalon is kicking off with a massive celebration this March. Director Jun Fukuda's 50 year old tag team romp will screen at Tokyo's Ikebukuro Humax Cinema on March 11th, 2023. The event will also be shown at Osaka's Cine Nouveau on March 18th and 19th.
Accompanying Godzilla vs. Megalon are episodes 9 and 13 of Godzilla: Singular Point will be screened, highlighting Jet Jaguar. Godzilla Island episodes revolving around the Megalon and Jet Jaguar characters will also be shown. The birthday bash will also include a talk show piece with Godzilla vs. Megalon stars Katsuhiko Sasaki (Goro Ibuki) and Hiroyuki Kawase (Rokuro Ibuki)! Check out the event poster:
Godzilla vs. Megalon's anniversary was also teased to be celebrated at the upcoming Godzilla Day this coming November. Expect more related announcements and merchandise as the year goes on.
