Last month it was leaked that Masaaki Tezuka's Godzilla: Tokyo SOS (2003) would be hitting US theaters in March. Fathom Events has officially announced it with a poster and trailer (both repackaged from the 2003 Japanese release). Pre-sale tickets are available now.
You can watch the slightly altered 2003 trailer for the event below:
Fathom Events' summary for the screening announces both Tokyo SOS and Godzilla vs. Gigan Rex:
Mothra's twin fairies appear with a warning to Japan... Kiryu (aka Mechagodzilla) must be put to rest at the bottom of the ocean or face the wrath of Mothra. When Godzilla returns once again, will humanity heed the warning or will Kiryu be forced to fight against two monsters?
This exclusive event will also include a special showing of Godzilla vs. Gigan Rex, a short that debuted at the 2022 Japan Godzilla Festival as a sequel to G vs. G (2019) - never before seen on the big screen!
In November 2003 the film's prequel, Godzilla x MechaGodzilla (2002), was shown in US theaters across the country in honor of Godzilla Day. The one day screening was quite successful and Toho seems to want a repeat of that outcome.
The conclusion to the fan favorite Kiryu Saga will be in theaters across the country Wednesday, March 22nd. You can get your tickets now at Fathom Events.
