A new revelation about one of the Titans from Godzilla: King of the Monsters has been revealed. Mike Dougherty, the film's director, recently joined Instagram, and he's been sharing a plethora of new concept art and information from the film ever since. Yesterday, he revealed the most interesting piece of info about the film yet.
Mike announced that the new MUTO seen during the film is actually the "Queen MUTO." He noted that "This one is different and older than the MUTOs we saw before, hence the 'crown' of dorsal ridges to express her royalty status." The below LookDev file of the Titan was also attached to the post.

Additionally, Mike mentioned that "Her body is also covered with scars from past battles... or mating rituals." And the last new tidbit that was shared about the Titan may just prove to be the most long-lasting change among kaiju fans in regards to the Queen. The director stated that the Titan is also referred to as "Barb." This makes the Queen MUTO the second "nickname Titan" from the film, along with the fan favorite "Kevin."
