Godzilla vs. Kong (2020) director Adam Wingard took to Instagram today to announce that they're on the home stretch of editorial and added that making the highly anticipated blockbuster was the thrill of a lifetime:

Adam seems very enthusiastic about the project, as are we! With nearly a year to go before the film's official release date this November, we expect marketing to ramp up in the spring.

Previously, re-shoots for Godzilla vs. Kong recently took place. Nature of the re-shoots is unknown. A trailer release date has yet to be announced, but we're keeping a close eye on developments!

Well, let's hope it turns out to be good. I don't know much about the whole Death Note debacle or whatever, but I hope the film lives up to his enthusiasm.

And let's see how many people see that photo and start thinking that they'll actually use balloons to move Kong around in this movie. :)

okay sorry my sister is watching The Phantom of the Opera. As I was saying, that’ll be really funny if they had Kong on balloons.

All I hope is that it will be better than KOTM. I'm among those who think nothing was good about KOTM except for the monster scenes (except for the part where Mothra magically protected Godzilla by dying on top. of him).

Moldovan0731 There's always room for improvement. Some times lots of it. I personally thought KOTM's ideas were sound, it was just some of the execution and the details (such as the dialogue) that bugged me. Still loved it, though.

I just hope that it really doesn't have a LOT of politics in it, because that was the only down part of KOTM.

Monster_Zero 2112 Politics? What politics? KOTM was one of the most politics-free movies I've seen recently. The only thing that comes close to politics is all the environmental stuff and the folly of man and whatnot, but that kind of messaging has been a part of the franchise from almost the beginning.

JurassicKaiju14,
The environmental themes are very politically charged. I think almost every movie these days has some sort of socio-political issue(s) to tackle, I just don't think King of the Monsters crafted a very consistent story around it's choice of theme.

JurassicKaiju14,

The politics I mean was the government trying to kill the Titans and taking the situation into their own hands, and then making it worse by killing Godzilla before he could finish Ghidorah off.

G. H. (Gman) It didn't bother me as much as other movies I've seen. For instance, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. I rolled my eyes every time they did stuff like "US President Questions Whether Dinosaurs Ever Existed In The First Place", or how one of the characters literally says "What a nasty woman", super on the nose stuff like that.

"I just don't think King of the Monsters crafted a very consistent story around it's choice of theme."

Eh, agree to sorta disagree.

Monster_Zero 2112 That's not politics. That's just the folly of man at play.

Let's hope he does a better job on this than Death Note, or Blair Witch.
