This past week was packed full of Godzilla vs. Kong news and updates. So, we're going to be recapping everything that took place in this week's kaiju news summary.
First off was the revealing of three new Playmates Toys Godzilla vs. Kong figures. The figures are an 11" Kong, an 11" Godzilla, and a 6" Kong with Battle-Axe. All three figures were available for brief periods on Walmart's website, but are now all listed as out of stock. The most notable aspect of the new figures is the presence of Kong's new weapon... which may be crafted from Godzilla's own dorsal plate.

Thanks to the packaging artwork on the new Playmates Toys figures, we now also have a new banner for the upcoming Monsterverse film. While similar to previous banners for the film, this one features the most updated graphics of any yet.
The new Playmates Toys figures also gave us a brand new synopsis for Godzilla vs. Kong. The new summary teases a "Monster War" in Hollow Earth. You can read the full synopsis for the film here.

However, by far the most exciting reveal for the film from this past week was a new piece of artwork that granted us our first official look at Godzilla and Kong facing off. The artwork originates from the back of the Playmates Toys packaging (thanks again Playmates!) and showcases the two Titans fighting on top of what appears to be an aircraft carrier. You can view Scified's original breaking news report on the image here.

Lastly for this week was a piece of non-Monsterverse news. X-Plus revealed a new DefoReal Godzilla (2016) 2nd and 3rd form figure set. The figures appear to feature transparent paint apps and will release in November for approximately $123.
