I wouldn't waste three movies and have a finale with pussy King Kong.
Imagine King Kong with a cat face.
Ummmm your opinion is kinda weird (no offence). But Legendary won't make Godzilla an antagonist because TOHO won't agree and also "Godzilla should blow a hole in Kongs chest and have Godzilla 4 with Gidorah or smoke a whole." is not that good.
Godzilla should blow a hole in Kongs chest and have Godzilla 4 with Gidorah or smoke a whole.
I was imaging a Godzilla 2 where Godzilla and Rodan are the antagonists with Mothra being a protagonist. In Godzilla 2014 the MUTOs were hunted/killed but could be the opposite for the next film. That gives a reason for King Kong fighting Godzilla. I don't think it will happen. I expect a new monster in Godzilla 2.
If I'm making the films I would have the next best monster to fight Godzilla then the better one(s) and the best. I think Gidorah is the best. Rodan isn't better then two MUTOS in my opinion but, the combination of Rodan and Mothra are better.
The length of the movie worries me when introducing all 3 with Godzilla/Humans. I think Mothra will have the most screen time(larva). Rodan is the least. Gidorah in the middle.
What about possible battle locations? Los Angeles being wrecked in a skirmish. Battles in Chicago, New York and London/United Kingdom. My brain isn't buzzing on a East Asian city.
Wait....GODZILLA SPAWNED THIS OFFSPRING....AND HE WANTS TO KILL IT...
^ I had never really considered that scene as an example before, but that is a great example of what I'm talking about. Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla kind of did the same thing with Godzilla and MOGUERA taking on SpaceGodzilla. Both monsters fought SpaceGodzilla by themselves and were defeated, then both attacked him at the same time without really interacting with one another. MOGUERA's pilots did eventually acknowledge that they were "helping Godzilla" destroy Fukuoka Tower, but the battle overall wasn't so much Godzilla and MOGUERA teaming up as just fighting the same enemy at the same time. The same thing kind of applies in a way to Kiryu and Mothra battling Godzilla in Tokyo S.O.S. too.
^I've largely thought this is the route they will go if all four monsters indeed appear in the film. We may not get a blessed monster conference, but the idea of monsters moving in against a common threat is likely.
A similar situation happened briefly in Final Wars as Godzilla and Mothra took on Monster X and Gigan. Mothra did take out both monsters as Godzilla was buckling under their might at one point. However, I don't think it could be said that Godzilla and Mothra were consciously fighting alongside one another. In fact I don't think either one of them acknowledged the other.
SCI-FI KING25 - Oh, wow! This chapter was extremely fun and engaging! I can certainly tell that the war is about overactive boiling point! Excellent work! Thank you so much for sharing this with us! :)
Chapter Two is up!
(Can't really think of a description here. This entry will be a little different than the other entries (sorry of it follows the movie a little too close.)).
I'm not saying that Godzilla 2 should really emulate Jurassic World in any way, especially if it wants to be a truly serious film, but I think that the final battle in that film is a good example how multiple creatures can fight alongside each other against a larger threat without really consciously joining forces. Provided that Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah all end up being featured in Godzilla 2, the only scenario I see happening is all three of them fighting against Ghidorah. Mothra always needs to be the more benevolent and heroic monster, making her a villain would be against her character and probably would not be allowed by Toho. And since Godzilla has already been established as the protagonistic monster and the creature to root for, there's no way that Mothra battling Godzilla could be the central conflict of the film. Rodan is more flexible, but he would probably end up having to fight against Ghidorah in the final battle as well, provided that he isn't killed off beforehand.
I do see it being possible for Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra to all fight each other at some point during the film, but the only real way I see the climax shaping up is all three of them battling King Ghidorah at once. I'm not talking about a "monster conference" akin to Ghidorah, The Three-Headed Monster, but something more along the lines of the final battle in Jurassic World, where multiple creatures all fought against a single enemy without consciously teaming up, then all went their separate ways afterward. Again, I'm not suggesting that Godzilla 2 should emulate that film, but the basic formula of that film's final battle could very much apply to Godzilla 2. There's a good chance that something similar could end up happening in Godzilla vs. Kong as well.
^I can largely get behind every word by The King of the Monsters. Well said.
I've seen it three times so far, and somehow my theater is still showing it until at least November 2, so I may go see it again. The first time I went to see it, which was at 7:50 on the night it opened, the theater was actually sold out, and the lobby was packed before the showing with people wearing Godzilla shirts and stuff. There was definitely a strong fan presence I was not expecting, and it made the experience really special. The second time I saw it was at 11:30 am, and the theater was still two-thirds full. The third time I saw it, the theater was only about a third full, but when I left there were lots of people with Godzilla shirts lining up for the next showing. I had heard most places were only showing the movie once a day for the limited run, but my theater has shown it at least five times a day ever since it opened.
As for the movie itself, I very much enjoyed it. I'm not ready to give it a concrete ranking or anything, because I need to wait for the honeymoon period to blow over. I will say that it is important to see it more than once to catch all of the various things going on and the nuances of the film. I'll probably end up placing it somewhere in my top 10 when it is all said and done, maybe even in my top 5. I do think it is exactly what Anno, Higuchi and company set out to make it, and I am not at all surprised at the overwhelmingly positive reception it has garnered in Japan. I think it's the perfect response to Legendary's take on the franchise, a very distinctly Japanese film that is still nonetheless very modern and high-quality that returns Godzilla in a way to his original purpose, a frightening living allegory for some kind of nuclear specter that haunts contemporary Japan. It's what I hoped to see out of Toho's return to the franchise.
Even though I have avoided S.H. MonsterArts in the past just because I know they are bad news for my wallet, I might have to make an exception for this figure.
This is what I imagined his appearance
Kamata-kun it is.
Also i hope they will put an atomic breath SH Monsterarts figure Shin Gojira.
Yeah, Kamata-kun has become the generally accepted name among fans--Named after where it landed.
THE FIRST FORM FINALLY!
Take my wallet already.
Tamashii Nations has made quite the comeback now have they.
I think maybe Mothra and Godzilla will ally. Rodan will ally with Gidorah and maybe die or turn on Gidorah.
^Why? There's literally nothing you said in the original post that could remotely be construed as a spoiler since there's zero information about the plot of the movie. If you miraculously turn out to be right, we won't find out until we see the movie for ourselves.
Holy $#%&, you guys...
Seriously... HOLY $#@%!!!!!!!!
Although no images have yet surfaced online, attendees have confirmed that there is YET ANOTHER NEW SHMA FIGURE ON DISPLAY! Its probably in a "no camera" zone, but I wouldn't be too surprised if an image popped up sooner or later.
As to what it is, well...
All I'll say is... have your wallets ready. Space Titanium is expensive. ;)

^Whoa, huge slam on my childhood outta nowhere!

Wow, even though the movie isn't anything special, the poster for it is my favorite G movie poster.
Really wish this was the mechagodzilla in the movie the design is infinitely better than the one we got imo
Danzilla,
You have the power and authority to update any posts you have more info on.
A couple more images of the Shin Godzilla Forms 1 and 2:

Tamashii Nations is being held right now in Japan, and there have been some AWESOME SHMA products on display!
The painted Shin Godzilla Forms 2 and 3 were finally revealed!

And, in a team up with Tamashii Mix, SHMA is delving into the Poster Variant department with a stunning new figure...
Behold... THE HEISEI MECHAGODZILLA POSTER VERSION !!!!!!!!

Expect a full update and more images to follow!
Rats, beat me to posting by THAT much! ;) I was holding off until better images became available, but here's some more info on this figure:
This bad boy, unveiled in magazine scans a few days ago, is indeed based on the preliminary design for the Heisei Mechagodzilla to be featured in the 1993 feature film Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II. Designed by Shinji Nishikawa (who is also supervising the creation of this figure), this original take on the iconic mech was far more akin to the design aesthetics of the Showa Mechagodzilla, and would have featured the ability to split into two distinct halves to fight as a duo of mechas, an ability that was ultimately dropped and given to Moguera in the following year's Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla. This ability can be seen in the concept art below:

Not strictly an SHMA figure, this prototype also falls under the newly christened Tamashii Mix line of figures. There is no confirmed release or corresponding promo pictures as of yet. A release date and price, therefore, have yet to be announced.
Look for more info coming your way soon in the SHMA Info and Updates Thread right here on Scified!
Maybe we should make a potential spoiler thread.
Gman that would have been amazing...
God, if only it had looked like that in the movie and retained the Ghidorah Program subplot... AND if Honda had stayed alive long enough to direct... What a film it could have been.
I know this may never happen but I would like to see Zilla come back, but this time as a friend to Godzilla and not a chew toy.
Bruh, the whole point of a discussion is to share your thoughts on a topic
