bigger teeth. It would make him more ferocious. He looks too friendly in the 2014 movie IMO.

elam1998Godzilla ForumBIGGEST REASON WHY GODZILLA'S GONNA WIN IN HIS FIGHT AGAINST KONG

Godzilla's got the size, the toughness, the strength, the atomic breath, the claws and teeth and the powerful tails, but he seems to lack the agility of Kong.  If Kong were Godzilla's size, with his quickness, might, jumping ability and intelligence to grab anything handy to use in battle, he might manage to grab onto Godzilla's jaws to try to rib them apart, but then Godzilla would release his atomic breath to fry Kong's hands and catch his hair on fire and eventually consume him in the atomic fire.  Kong would have a disadvantage if he fought Godzilla on dry land.  If they were close to water, Kong might dive in it to rid himself of the fire but Godzilla was an expert swimmer as well, so he could swim fast and use his tail to smash Kong silly.  The only way Kong might have a chance was to smash Godzilla with a part of a building or use something sharp to stab Godzilla with.  He might go for Godzilla's eyes as well.  Ha ha!

Well, honestly, we can just chalk it up to the time of it being made and cultural differences.  The Japanese still consume lots of octopus and marine life, it's just a big part of their diet, so throwing an octopus into a movie and then (according to legend anyway) eating it after the shoot was over is likely to them no more of a big deal than we might think of shooting a chicken in a movie and then having BBQ afterwards.  I always found the story pretty humorous, myself, and I suspect the scene in Kong Skull Island where he eats the octopus after beating it up might have been a nod.

Wait, they used a live octopus on King Kong vs Godzilla? That seems kinda mean. Poor octopus. Still, I love that he has an appreciation for the classics and defends some of Godzilla's more laughably (in a good way) iconic scenes (I can't stop laughing at that flying scene). This gives me high hopes for the movie.

Love that he engages with the fans, but still not too happy with him being the choice.

Slight changes are fine but nothing to drastic. Maybe he gets even bigger or his color changes a bit.

I'd like to think that Ghidorah is a much mutated form of a MUTO. I dunno why. I wanna see him have mandibles for a lower jaw and MUTO heads and wings. I think it's kinda cool. But if they go for a draconic Smaug look, would probs be better. Of course a long neck should always be there for Ghidrah, and gold skin. But eh, seeing him have his usual stance seems so, not realistic.

It's probably fine for me as long as it's minor. The change in Godzilla's design by the movies seems like tradition. Though if they did I'd love to see battle scars, just not too major, I guess. And bigger, bone-white spines. Also, a longer tail, I love it when monsters have long tails at times, the way it follows the destruction that's happening, just not too "move-y" like in Shin, that one seemed to have a mind of its own. Of course, lots if not all, want to see a more powerful version of the atomic breath, I'd like mine white.

I don't know if that's minor or I'm asking too much hahahaha.

Given how he's still in the same overall shape in the after-credits scene in Kong: Skull Island, I'd say that it's at least a given that his overall design will remain the same.

Maybe Heisei Godzilla is a better example, as the core design never changed, merely slightly altered in little details.

I'll be happy if they at least make his eyes and teeth bigger. They were too small in the 2014 design.

If they crossed path before, that'd be consistent with the previous Japanese versions.  I like to think that ancient people had seen that they appeared in separate periods of time and wrecked havoc multiple times previously.  They also confronted each other and fought but were spent in their battles, so they each retreated to recuperate.  That does not contradict with what we saw from previous Godzilla films, and is also consistent with what people from Monarch were saying that Monsters really existed and owned the Earth, not humans.  They will appear when there is a loss of balance on Earth, for good or bad, to restore the balance there, even though humans don't appreciate their so-called 'destructive' methods.  Due to radiation and pollution levels rising as well as global warming getting worse, they re-emerge from hibernation, perceiving what humans are doing is jeopardizing their food sources, to teach mankind a lesson, and of course when they will finally face each other through their own instinctive hunting habits, battles and destruction on a scale never seen before will erupt!  This time they will pack a lot more punch since they will grow even bigger and stronger!

Tbh slight changes okay, but overall I don't want the design to change too much. Make the spikes a bit bigger, the tail a bit longer, make him look aged but I don't want a dramatically different look imo.

I would like some larger spines and maybe some different coloration and of course battle scars

I wouldn't mind any minor changes, but nothing major.

I mean, Godzilla has always gone through different designs throughout his years in movies even when it's the same Godzilla; one perfect example being the Showa Godzilla, so it would seem fitting to do a different design for the Legendary Godzilla.

For what I would like to have changed would be to have his body not decrease in height, but tone down his size more and put some battle scars on him.

The game is only confirmed for Japan, but as I believe the PlayStation 4 is region-free, it can be imported from Japan or bought digitally from the Japanese PlayStation Store.

I'm with Crimson Black here, I don't know this actor from anything but why the gradeschool nonsense whining about him being in the film?  Give him a chance, some actors surprise you.  It's not going to ruin your life that he's in the Monsterverse is what will likely only be a supporting role.

For my money the less "Big name" actors in this series the better, a couple of highlight stars here and there are very welcome like Cranston, Goodman and Hiddleston, but the more star power the kaiju films have the more likely the focus will be even more steered away from what we came to see....the beasties.

The King of the MonstersGodzilla ForumBIGGEST REASON WHY GODZILLA'S GONNA WIN IN HIS FIGHT AGAINST KONG

The whole legal situation regarding King Kong is just a confusing mess. Legendary and WB seem hesitant to use "King Kong" in the titles for their films, which is as previously stated most likely to avoid any possible legal issues. However, Legendary and WB have called Kong "King Kong" in some of the film's official marketing and press releases, and in Japan the film is titled King Kong: Giant God of Skull Island. I assume it's a case where Legendary and WB are just being cautious, or they're only not allowed to use "King Kong" in the films' English titles.

The DDL situation regarding Kong is long-resolved and I doubt anyone wants to revisit it. Especially considering that the De Laurentiis Entertainment Group is now defunct, and the company's two Kong films are being distributed via Paramount and Universal currently. Warner Bros. has even released the 1976 remake in a double pack with the 1933 film in the past.

EmptyHGodzilla ForumBIGGEST REASON WHY GODZILLA'S GONNA WIN IN HIS FIGHT AGAINST KONG

My understanding is that Warner Brothers technically has the rights to the movie versions of King Kong (because they own Turner Entertainment who purchased RKO who originally owned those rights, but those were technically only for the original and the squeal, so in the end I have no idea) and thus them working with Universal is what made it possible to have a King Kong Movie.

I assumed they are leaving out the "King" part just to avoid any legal issues. Could DDL bring up an issue since they did the last "King" Kong movies in the 70s? I know they technically only own the name for the 70s remakes, but maybe they could still make a stink?

Tentatively, according to Legendary, it's just called Godzilla vs. Kong. (Source) Apparently there's some rights issue about titling the MonsterVerse movies with "King" in front of Kong's name.

G. H. (Gman)Godzilla ForumRegarding Thomas MIddleditch

You are correct about his "role" in Skull Island--I only recently discovered this myself. Though he would be about 46 years older in Godzilla: King of the Monsters--So unless there's a considerable amount of make-up it would be hard to buy that a 35 year old, spry young actor could pass for something much older.

He's likely playing a new character.

Maybe he is a Godzilla fanboy and said.."hey.. let be in this movie.. I'll do a role for peanuts.'

My confidence is waning in the choices of stars here... but yet... sometimes.. getting big names for roles.. does not make for a good movie... and it's the ones you least expect.. who shine the brightest. I think Legendary.. is going for a diverse cast.. to create a unique chemistry.. it worked for Kong.. which had stars from all across the board.. and it worked.
