I didn't see any of those actors listed in the casting for this movie(thank God-zilla!)
We are supposedly focusing on Monarch, I remember hearing that the lead actor (forgot his name) and the lead actress (forgot hers to) are members of Monarch
^well I mean in the eyes of the monsterverse, "King" size would be Godzilla size I guess. Kong as of now is "Knight" size or at least maybe a "Queen" size. So to answer your question based on my silly entry, Kong in the current monsterverse is actually quite tiny compared to Godzilla. Godzilla is "King" size, both metaphorically and literally, thus calling Kong "King" right now only confirms that Godzilla is GOD size then. And what is a King compared to a GOD!
I love your Godzilla painting!!! damn, it's so goood!!!
unfortunately I can't draw pictures, but I can analyze and make ranges, so, check out mine https://ranktopten.com/best-range-gear-osrs-14233 I hope you'll like it!!! I believe everyone likes to play games
Another new chapter. Biollante vs. Rodan. Don't think that's ever been done before.
It wasn't even a dark and gloomy atmosphere necessarily. It was just bone dry, and lacking in any sense of humor or self-awareness. Even Shin Godzilla for how dark it was could have fun with itself and cracked some jokes, so it wasn't entirely dry and depressing, lol.
Glad this film's seemingly like KSI, given I loved that film for what it was. My only issue is probably gonna be obnoxious casting/plot choices. Like why are we focusing on a family once again caught in this gigantic fight between superorganisms rather than focusing on Monarch, more. I'd rather have the most intriguing part of the last film amplified over more of what I didn't like. But from what I've heard, it seems like Sally Hawkins doesn't even know if she plays a large role in the plot, again. Ugh.
That and I hope this film retains continuity. Gonna hate it if it's like the events of the past films never happened. Even Transformers gets that right.
Like I said before, I'm pretty sure it was a concept for King Ghidorah and the Lucifer thing was just an attempt by ADI to cover up their mistake. However, a reliable contact says that the design is not close to the finalized design that will be used in the film, and Dougherty has simply stated that it isn't the design used in the film. It probably is an official concept, just one that went unused.
At the rate that Godzilla Earth is growing, it'll only be a few million years before he becomes large enough to leave Earth's gravitational pull and become a "space" Godzilla :P
Godzilla 2: Godzilla in Space
Absolutely amazing.
What would even be considered as "King size"? Just call him King Kong, otherwise this happens. Who's with me?
K:SI is definitely a superior film than Edwards backwards 2014. The tone, action, acting, pace and even the soundtrack was perfect. The only thing G14 had was that dark and gloomy atmosphere. Ill give it to Edwards on that. If we can get all the great things out of both films and put it in KOTM then ill be happy
hmmmm... I don't know guys.. something is not stirring the kool aide here.
I don't buy that ADI account about Lucifer. This looks very much like an attempt at a concept for Ghidorah. Two tails.. three heads.. wings.. ummm. very obvious.
It would be nice to have a real good story.. coupled with good characters.. AND epic monster fights. I actually thought Kong Skull Island.. was better that the first Godzilla [2014] flick.. in that it had all three.
I don't get the idea that you can't have a good story and great action in these movies. I really enjoyed Kong, but the story was seriously lacking. Great ideas, for sure, but the plot went all over the place and that lessens the impact of the action. While characterization in Godzilla 2014 was lacking, the story was worked out nicely. It was a simple linear tale for sure, but it worked and didn't leave you scratching your head. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere of Godzilla, it gave gravitas to the situation, made the monsters imposing and truly feel giant. Kong was lacking in that department a bit too.
Thanks for the continued support! Keep spreading the word if you know someone who you think would enjoy reading these novelizations! Also...
UPDATE!
I'm super excited to share the GNP's newest project: a novella in two parts chronicling the attack of Godzilla upon Tokyo… as related by United World News’ brightest reporter…
Its Godzilla, King of the Monsters! - The Steve Martin Report!
Essentially, The Steve Martin Report is a first-person recounting of the events of Terry Morse’s 1956 “Americanization” of the original Godzilla, told in the form of a written report by the character of Martin, as played so memorably by the late, great Raymond Burr. The novella is presented as a sort of “in-universe artifact”, a final word report prepared by Steve for his boss in Chicago.
Part 2 is nearly completed, so stay tuned for the rest soon! Until then, follow the link above to read the synopsis and Part 1!
There is a bio for him, but I can't seem to get it to work trying to post it. You'll just have to read it on the deviantART page itself.
^Because in both cases King Ghidorah's basic shape and silhouette was retained--This does nothing to preserve it.
The Chinese influence was also incidental in GMK. King Ghidorah's heads were based on Varan due to Fuyuki Shinada feeling he was robbed of the opportunity to create a Varan suit.
Tbh upon looking at it again it is becoming obvious that this design was at the very least a concept for Ghidorah. To which, taking into account everything stated above, just makes this a different take on Ghidorah. What I don't understand is why it is causing such a backlash, Ghidorah's designs have changed from his first appearance to his latest, as has his personality. In TTHM he was a chaotic force of destruction, and in GMK he was trying to stop Godzilla--and equally his design in GMK was more of a Chinese Dragon inspired rather than TTHM.
I don't see how making him a partial quadruped is that big of a deal, what bothers me is how skinny his form is--but we have to see what the official design is for the film and how it looks in full CGI rather than this model.
I'm glad to see that he's continuing his Godzilla Neo series.
Hmm...this seems suspicious to me. The design within the aforementioned image has every physical aspect associated with King Ghidorah - to wit: three heads and two tails. I find the design to be neat; however, it does not strike me as Ghidorah. Ghidorah, in my opinion, should be a powerfully-muscled and savage brute capable of inflicting and weathering tremendous physical punishment by virtue of his massive form. The design presented in the image above has a fragile and elegant appearance - hardly the vision of monster capable of overpowering Godzilla in a one-on-one bout. This is most compelling! :)
Very cool, to be honest. I'd love to do this myself since some of these movies would translate perfectly to novels, or even comics/graphic novels. Would be super fun to adapt these to a different medium.
Godzilla action collection is a "cult-type" activity that started in Japan and has taken the rest of the world. Therefore the figures keep on evolving to match its audience evolution.
The King of the Monsters-A good point
Tom Holkenborg, Rupert Gregson-Williams, Henry Jackman, Steve Jablonski, Lorne Balfe. Any of these would be fantastic choices.
To be honest, at least doing this out of passion is better than not doing it at all. Looking forward to it and keep up the good work.
They're not going to make it "realistic" because a giant three-headed flying dragon isn't realistic by any sense of the imagination. They can do whatever they want with the design as long as they keep it recognizable as the character. They didn't make Godzilla "realistic" by making him a 10 foot tall dinosaur, they kept him recognizable and just added a few unique touches to try and make him seem more natural. They will do the same thing with King Ghidorah and the other monsters, keep them recognizable while adding some more natural animal-like traits. Legendary knows these creatures are not nor will they ever be "realistic." Their goal is simply to make it believable they exist in the real world. The MonsterVerse is meant to be grounded, not "realistic."
Well, we could take some design philosophies from Godzilla himself.
Stocky, trunk-like legs, an overall bulky body, and tails that help balance the weight of the overall figure. The three heads are what's interesting, though. No matter how King Ghidorah ends up looking, those necks and heads WILL have to be held high.
Welp, there's our that this was concept for Ghidorah. I mean c'mon, I'm not falling for the Lucifer thing, it's obviously a model of Ghidorah. But I am happy to see that it's not Ghidorah's final design, although it does make me raise the question. If they do go with Ghidorah's classic look, how are they going to make it look realistic? Like how do they make it look realistic when Ghidorah just stands on two legs with no arms?
Aaaaaaaand Dougherty sticks the landing.

If that's a Ghidorah design, it ain't final.

This video is a very interesting take on this whole situation. Thoughts?
I find the use of "radically different" encouraging.
Unfortunately no, but I suppose I could ask if my colleague is ever in contact with him again, which is possible. I can give you the exact quote though:
"the leak is radically different from what I had seen and had been informed as the settled design... it is convincing, but unlikely to be final."
There was more to his response, but that was all he mentioned about the Ghidorah design he had seen and how he thought the leak compared.
The King of the Monsters,
Did said contact make any mention of what the differences between the two designs were?
Also, thanks to NateZilla10000 for posting the link to his previous comments.
whatever they are they look like they are shooting up towards the sky. Like spaceships or something.
it better be! maybe a new Kaiju for GVK?
I 100% believe this is an early model of Ghidorah, I mean it makes complete sense. The model doesn't even look sophisticated, it looks....well, it looks like a concept model.
I wonder what the lights in the image could be.
Ships? Maybe some kind of missiles? Either way, it looks like Godzilla is rearing to shoot them down.
That's a little disappointing. The good giant monster films are ones that have good human characters and stories.
