Here is a poorly edited design I made of another kaiju Gigantosaurus could face in a possible sequel called Ayedus. I also made a video about it on my you tube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJPKA-0KSg4

My favorite game is Godzilla: the Game for the PS4. (I don't care if it's considered the 2nd worst PS4 game of all time. It's still awesome imo.)

This sounds good, but it just sounds like it is a rip-off of the 1998 Godzilla movie. Love the idea of another ice monster, though. (Seriously, the need to think of more monsters like this instead of ones that are on the other side of the temperature scale.)

Unless they added a new monster to fight him in order to injure or kill him so that he can become a cyborg.

I think this is a good way to introduce Gigan into the Monster-verse. Good job.

^I wouldnt mind that. If the Monsterverse takes anything from the marvel universe, I would love to see something like that either in a movie or show.

Actually, you have a good point. I feel like there should be a Gigan origin movie.

Reply
riggzamortis86Godzilla ForumKen Watanabe (a.k.a. Dr. Ishiro Serizawa) should be the main character . . .

I agree that ken Watanabe should be more of the focus of the nest Godzilla movies.

His character seems to be the most in depth character besides Joe Brody(Bryan Cranston still gave the best performance in that film and honestly it was the biggest mistake to kill him off soo early in the film).

But Dr. Serizawa has such a rich back ground that I think would be great to unfold as the movies go along. His character was the only one really keeping the G14 movie afloat.

^No. I just want more diversified origins and first appearances in the Monster Verse. Im saying that since we have The MUTO's coming from a skeletal monster from under the ground, the skull crawlers coming from under the ground, and now King Ghidorah(although his origin may or may not come from space and simply trapped underground for millions of years) emerging from under the ground in this Monsterverse, it seems like Legendary has the same trope following in the appearances of the monsters in these films. That the monsters all seem to come from under the ground. I would like to see a little more creativity in this universe of monsters. Toho had so many monsters that most of them had a pretty cool way to introduce the monster.

To feature Gigan coming up from some kind or geological dig or something like simply emerging from under the ground would be to simple since all the other monsters seem to have a similar appearance or origin. Since Gigan is a cyborg, Legendary would have to explain the technology behind such a monster. Why or how is it a cyborg monster, and why is coming from underneath the surface (had to change it up there)?

Now Im just going with the forum topic here. Having Gigan become a Muto monster cyborg made with alien technology does make a Godzilla fans mouth water. There are a million other ways to introduce this character, but I like this one a lot hence why Im sticking with it soo much. Its creative and reconnects the first film and makes the first film relevant again after 6 years or more. It gives us a sight of Gigan that we have never seen before. Gigan always just shows up to f### shit up but we never know what Gigan was before he became a cyborg monster.

Maybe if they decide to make an in-between movie that happens before K:SI and G14, or a prequel to K:SI if they decide to do it.

@TrapZilla The thing I found cringy was that the references kept appearing almost constantly. Except for the Delorean time machine, the shining sequence, and the chestbuster scene, most of the references, while cool every once in a while (including the songs), just kept piling one reference after another reference after a non-reference scene after another reference, and it just kept going.

And for that second part, tell that to Kiryu and the Godzilla from the Kiryu saga.

Buts its already set up that King Ghidorah is frozen out there underground (far according to the Monarch Timeline). To have another monster, this time with cyborg characteristics, under the ground again somewhere else would cause more plot holes and questions of its origins.

I agree with you MinecraftDinoKaiju  that the whole monster under the ground idea is over done in this movie genre. I just think they can be a little more creative IF they were to ever introduce Gigan into the monsterverse.

@minecraftdinokaiju not sure what you found “cringey” about it. I thought the references were the best parts of the movie, especially the shining sequence.

I also thought it made perfect sense to model MG after 2014. I mean isn’t every MechaGodzilla incarnation basically a carbon copy of whatever Godzilla is present during that time period??

Feel like half the people commenting on this haven’t even watched the movie smh. And when does K:SI ever mention MUTO’s? Who invented that boring ass word anyways? Hopefully Dougherty drops it and they just call the monsters by their real names. Also, somebody, anybody tell me when they call Godzilla a MUTO? He’s definitely already identified. So you can go ahead take that U out of MUTO.

^Its still up for debate at this point, but I'm just going with what G14 and K:SI are trying to elaborate on with the term M.U.T.O. Thank you! There is clearly a divide with fans on the subject, but it is my understanding(and at this point my own opinion) that G14 and Kong and all other monsters featured in the upcoming two films are in a M.U.T.O. classification according to Monarch in the films.

Unless Dougherty gets rid of the whole mythos behind Monarchs terms in the next film and gives the whole thing a different meaning then it really is any bodies interpretation.

But King Ghidorah will be having a similar origin in G:KOTM. He has been frozen under the ground, according to Monarchs timeline.

To have Gigan have the same thing happen wont seem original or authentic enough in my opinion. To give Gigan an origin story that already is close to its source material from the Showa series would be more believable IF we are including aliens. Gigan is a cyborg from some strange space dinosaur of some kind turned into the monster we know today. To see Gigan in this monsterverse as a revitalized MUTO would bring a closure to the MUTO saga.

To simply reuse an orgin story from a poorly thought out Godzilla movie from the early millennium would seem like a cop out if Gigan would to return.

I didn't like how MG was just in essence Godzilla 2014 with finger missiles. It looked cool at first, but now I just wished they didn't do that and gave him Showa MG's abilities. And I didn't like how some of the kaiju cameos were obscure and go by so fast. I'm sorry, but it just didn't fit with me to have this limited of a kaiju list when it came to a movie with so many pop-culture references. ( Btw 80's references good at first, but then it gets cringier after a few, imo. Hope they don't have as many if the movie gets a sequel. ) Although when I went to see and left the movie, I kept thinking this question: Should we consider them as versions of these monsters on the list or are they too non-canon to be considered such?

Don't know if I said it on another forum, but to sum it up, Gigan's origin in Final Wars seems more plausible (believable) than using the male MUTO's body to become him.

Reminds me of the Hanna-Barbera Godzilla if the show was a live-action series and not a cartoon, either the full-grown Godzilla from that show or a what-if model if Godzooky grew up. Looks cool, but at the same time, looks disturbing. So no, I wouldn't buy it. Sorry.

K:SI still had that octopus in the lake scene where Kong was nursing his wounds and a giant octopus try and attack him and Kong just STOMPED it out and then ate the octopus!

If that's not a call back to KKvG, I don't know what is. I even think the staff and crew ate that octopus after the take! Brutal! I never ate a giant monster movie star before! But I would give it a try. Just to say I did that.

But my point is that your right on the rights to an Ebirah cameo. Any giant crustacean fighting Kong would satisfy any fan I'm sure.

Reply
KaijuBuildzGodzilla Forumhow to include Gigan into the monsterverse

They probably don’t even need to by the rights to ebirah as well. It can always be just a giant lobster and fans can make it be whatever they want it to be. I had this exact thing with skull island where I thought the giant spider in the movie was kumomga. When I looked it up it ended up not being him but still.

it would be way cooler though if it was the real ebirah instead of something similar.

Reply
riggzamortis86Godzilla Forumhow to include Gigan into the monsterverse

True, Ebirah cant carry a film of this magnitude by himself. I was more trying to suggestion on having Ebirah in the movie as a way to show off Kongs strength without Godzilla being present or vise versa.

Depending on the plot, whether Godzilla is trying to get to Skull Island or Kong is trying to leave skull island, Ebirah would be a fun way to demonstrate to the audience a sample of Godzilla's or Kongs strength without having to fight each other yet. I think it would be great to see Kong fight Ebirah for 2 reasons.

1)Ebirah, Horror of the Deep(1966) was supposed to be a King Kong movie. Without going into too much info on why Kong wasn't in it, Godzilla shares some of his characteristics to Kong in the film and in the plot. One example is the scene where he meets Daiyo and is very protective of her. As we all know Godzilla has never really went out of his way to do such a thing. But Kong is a sucker for the ladies. Plus the fact that he is sleeping in a cave rather than underwater. Godzilla does seem out of place in that scene. Why or how does Godzilla want to sleep in a cave when he has an entire ocean to slumber in? Kong loves caves and would make sense that Kong would be sleeping in cave. One can argue the way the characters woke him up with lightening? Something that was established back in KKvG that Kong gains strength from?

I bring this up only because it was supposed to be King Kong fighting Ebirah and dismantling the Red Bamboo(which by the way have a similar theme of abducting native people from Infant Island, their home, and making them perform tasks to enrich the terrorist organization? Something Kong is familiar with). So seeing King Kong fight Ebirah now that Kong is like 300 sum feet tall would look awesome and a wink to fans who might get the reference.

2) It would explain why Kong never wanted to leave Skull Island. If there where giant sea monsters in the ocean under a blanket of tropical storms, that would make sense as to why all those ships always wrecked as well. Maybe Kong was always trapped on the island. But never has a Kong reached its full maturity and size thanks to Kong making the skull crawlers extinct. Allowing Kong to grow and grow. Then reaching his peak size, he can confront the Ebirah surrounding the island and without Godzilla even being present in the scene, we would see Kong's new strength. It would be a slightly brief cameo only to show the audience how strong Kong has become over the past 4 decades. To get the audience pumped before we even see the main event.

that's not how that works. nothing has been confirmed. lego ideas (the site where this is posted on) is a site where people can send in their lego builds and if it gets 10000 votes it has a chance to be made in a set. this set has 1500 votes now. it still has more than a year to get those votes, but right now it hasn't.
