Holy Shit! It's better than last time. It's back. Godzilla has a proper Atomic Breath again! No more thin lasers like in Shin and the anime. Furthermore this doesn't look like the weak blast from 2014. This is a full powered blast. I can't wait to see this in battle! I love it! I love that the spines are bigger! I just hope the eyes and teeth are bigger too. But thankfully Godzilla's signature weapon has been given justice. The King has returned!

Anyone else think it kind of looks like the Heisei Godzilla with the size, larger dorsal spines, rounded tail, and even a small spiral around the Atomic Breath?
But judging by the stormy background, that begs the question: Does he get more powerful with more electricity? In other words, does electricity enhance his own abilities? And on that note, has he gained more since the last time we saw him? So many questions, yet so much more anticipation and excitement. Let's just wait and see.
I'm looking forward to seeing how Rodan will be portrayed.
Exactly. Hell I do not mind Dougherty borrowing from Shin, it's the highest form of flattery and Godzilla looks badass in this pose. This alone has convinced me the movie will at least look good, which is fair since it's the same cinematographer. Definitely a bit of a tub, but let's be honest, Shin is THICC.
Hope Rodan and Ghidorah survive this. I was scared Dougherty might mess up Godzilla's bottom jaw like shin but the breath looks good so far. DON'T MESS WITH HIS MOUTH IT'S PERFECT! Nice dorsal plates!
Can't wait for the marketing and merchandise for this film. Especially the toy models of that design. Hope it doesn't disappoint. (Nobody jinx it or quote me on this.)

Can I get a second pair of eyes to confirm that tubby's spines are bigger and/or redesigned a bit? That's one adjustment I thought would really improve the design and it looks like a shade of Millennium Godzilla spines made it in there.
Dorsal spines and Atomic Breath are big improvements from 2014. Really hyped for Rodan too.

Interesting! As long as it doesn't turn into a "Imagine if our military could use this to take over other countries" side plot I'm interested! Kind of reminds me of things they touched on in Destroy All Monsters.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and bet that this is how they're doing the whole "Mothra is a telepath" thing.
Nonetheless, this movie is certainly feeling more and more like a remake of Ghidrah the Three Headed Monster, and I am a-okay with that.

Movie about godzilla for example 3 can start on 2200 year and future humans make reconstruction of fight godzilla and new MechaG and maybe create portal to 2020 year ( like king ghidorah from 1991) and now we are on the middle on movie when scientist analise godzilla fighting agains king ghidorah , mothra and rodan and make concept weapons agains godzilla. And now godzilla go to destroy one of nuklear generators when army try stop godzilla new mechagodzilla land behind godzilla and start fight, after a fiew time fight godzilla and "Anty godzilla" godzilla back to the sea and maybe new kiryu with future pilot join to earth defence force

KaijuWorld - I have seen that design... it looks very dragonesque and most definitely could be a pre production design... without it's finer details. MUTO style legs... yuck. But I agree... it could be better... if that is the direction they are taking with Ghidorah
KingKaijuGojira - did you see Rampage ? To me... that was a good effort and well balanced. Sure they were smaller Kaiju... but the overall scope of the movie was in general... very well done. Lizzy was especially cool. When George fought Lizzy... it was kind of a taste of what to expect from G vs K. I just don't want to see Kong kill Godzilla... for that would suck. I personally want to see them fight each other... but then have to contend with another Kaiju... and then team up to defeat it... then go their separate ways. What do you think ?
I am hoping on anything that can confirm if that Ghidorah leak from a while was real or fake. Even if we see the smallest detail of Ghidorah’s new design, we can compare that to that leaked design and finally confirm it for ourselves.
Btw, I hope it is not the leaked design because I am not a big fan of that design.

RR44, according to those who went the the test screening of G:KOTM the film is more like Kong Skull Island than Godzilla 2014. The Kaiju get a lot more screen time and there's a lot more action in the film. Besides, there's 4 monsters confirmed for this film and they are 4 major monsters known throughout the world: Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah. With stars like them in the ring, how could they not show them off? The movie will be better. If anything, we can see Godzilla 2014 as a means to establish the character (Godzilla) and lore (Monarch, M.U.T.O.s, etc) for the monsterverse. I think you make an excellent point other wise.
TheGMan123, I just hope Godzilla's eyes and teeth are larger. You can barely see them in the first film. I also want his arm to be a little bigger. Godzilla is a brawler. He should be able to a least reach his own head, especially is he's fighting 3 other monsters all capable of flight. As for the others, right now we can only go off the silhouettes from the end of Skull Island. Though I'm pretty sure Mothra will have her circular pattern in her wings. I'm sure they'll show them soon. We'll just have to wait and see.
Given that Godzilla likely isn't gonna go through too many drastic design changes, I wonder if they'll reveal any design details for Mothra, Rodan, or King Ghidorah.
My optimism in this is growing. I just hope that the movie lives up to the name and that they put a lot more into this on than they did Pacific Rim Uprising. The last thing we want to see is poor marketing... and terrible writing. Monster movies are only as good as the story... other wise they go the way of Gamera films and become obsolete.
In my opinion... had Shin Gorjira been the first ever Godzilla movie... it would have been seen as one of the best world wide... but because there are so many G flicks out there... now what matters is the story and marketing a good story is more important than just having a couple of big monsters duking it out on the big screen.
At Least Godzilla 2014 offered a versus scenario and better still... two against one... but the story line... was kind of bland and the monster scenes... too short.
King of the monsters better do way better... or G vs K will not even get close to the expectations that they hoping for.
