I wasn't the biggest fan of this trilogy, but hey, I'd prefer mediocre Godzilla over no Godzilla, and honestly I'm excited. I just hope Ghidorah has a physical presence in the movie.
Am I the only one that thinks of giant space cloud with this marketing?
One good kaiju fight to finish out this run and a wrap to Haruo's ark would make it worth it. I was definitely intrigued by the ideas of CotEoB and I want to see where it leads.
^Besides Burning Godzilla’s eyes glowing in 95 I agree.
Love his dorsal plates, his eyes, overall design this time around.
Just get Godzilla unleashed for wii. Play as Godzilla 2000 the greatest! Plus the Kaiju powerups from Space Godzilla crystals are awesomely insane!
I don't think Pacific Rim will cross in to the Monsterverse. I prefer the Pacific Rim universe over the Monsterverse anyway--It's just a more interesting world.
That being said, the partnership with Universal is about to end this December and insiders say Legendary will team back up with Waner Bros. If that's the case, Pacific Rim has a better chance of crossing into the MonsterVerse.
Still, Pacific Rim Uprising flopped. As much as I'd love to see the franchise continue, I don't think they will.
Sounds like Hannibal chau.
They usually reveal merchandise several months in advance, but I hope that it's not exclusive to a certain retailer. For example, Rampage merchandise from earlier this year was only sold at Wal-Mart, which was frustrating. NECA has already confirmed they're making figures for King of the Monsters, so that's awesome.
The most recent Godzilla game for that PlayStation 4 was actually pretty great. And additionally, there's a game released in Japan called "City Shrouded in Shadow" that puts you in the shoes of a random person who has to survive in the city during a Kaiju attack. There are different scenarios such as Ultraman, various Kaiju, and even Evangelion fighting the Angels. It's intense, and absolutely amazing.
Yeah, many are still being kept under wraps, but I'm expecting the same. Kong and the MUTO will both be represented on this map, and I think a few sites could end up just being "outposts" and nothing more.
I'm hoping for Hedorah, and Baragon, mostly. Battra would be cool, as well. I expect Destoroyah to play a part in the future, as well as space-based characters like Gigan.
Going through this list, it made me sad how much of it is now out of print and nigh impossible to find. Companies have these licenses and just won't release these movies. It sucks.
These are great reads! Keep it up. :)
Hmmm... not wanting to revive the thread too much, but this is an interesting topic. There's been talk that Pacific Rim could eventually end up being a part of the Legendary MonsterVerse, so just imagine that crossover. The breach being formed by a dying Gigan, as more Kaiju come through the portal.
I'm guessing a few of other Classified beasts are going to be a bit of a let-down, whereas others could be great. I expect Kong to be one of the Classified Outposts, as well as perhaps one of the MUTO's. It makes sense, IMO, to include them on here for perspective.
It makes more sense for Brooks to be the returning character in this film. I really really really want to see Tom Hiddleston return to the franchise in some capacity, but it makes more sense in Godzilla vs. Kong.
Burning Godzilla is my favorite, with Shin Godzilla being a close second. Such an incredible re-design.
When I was a kid, I saw the original film on a late night classic film channel, and it immediately caught my attention. I searched my local video store after that and found other films. Just kept absorbing as much as possible.
Dougherty mentioned that he had to "design new monsters" for the movie a while back, so I'm sure there's going to be some new original monsters featured in the movie, most likely in minor roles. That's likely what Dougherty is referencing here. I don't think he'd promise more monsters for it to only be M.U.T.O. and Kong cameos. I wouldn't complain of course if there was a surprise appearance from a familiar monster, but won't be holding my breath.
The 2 MUTOs in a flashback scene and Kong in a build up scene. There are the extra monsters most likely.
Godzilla 89-92 look awesome , 66 and 67 just look so derpy and all the millennium Godzilla just look badass. But the best is Godzilla 62
I love Legendary/Monsterverse Godzilla
There might be more than 4 monsters, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they are gonna be important. I think it is going to be similar to kamoebas in Tokyo SOS as just something to expand the universe and its mythology. We already have 4 monsters in this movie and they are the focus of the movie.
If I would have to say which monsters, I think we are gonna see the muto’s in the 2014 flashback that was seen in the trailer, possibly kong in an end credit scene and some extra new monsters like all the other animals/monsters in K:SI. This is already 7+ monsters in a movie, what more do you want?
Biollante would be dope! But Kong seems likely.
More than 4, doesn't mean 5. It can be 6, 7, 8, etc.
And Kong maybe 5 monster. Or biolante. Or even Jet Jaguar!
what iv'e got so far is 20 sites in total. although some sites might be empty or abandoned and may not have any titans present, i'm guessing the one in pacific is skull island, the one in japan is the muto site, the one in the Atlantic ocean is a sea based titan maybe ebirah, manda or megalon. one that is either in thailand or cambodia could be kumonga or kamacuras and one that is usa is probably anguirus. would love to see gorosaurus, battra, baragon, varan and hedora make an appearance though, with some redesigns. got to imagine there might be a couple of new monsters too.
also got a feeling some other non-godzilla monsters might appear such as gaira and sanda etc,
The roar doesn't feel right to me.
60's/generic Godzilla roar just doesn't mesh well with Monsterverse Godzilla.
Monster of monsters
What is the Blu Ray Player? How to play Blu Ray on PC? if want to know that, just look at this article.
Son of Godzilla was the worst. What happened there?
if you want to know more about the free Blu Ray Player for PC and why the computer can’t play Blu-ray movies, and just look at this passage.
I jumped at every opportunity I had to see a new film.
I guess many people are accustom to buying DVD or BD and then play them on TV. Well, do you know how to create a disc yourself?
Wish I knew myself, even if my geography is great.
Considering we see a flashback to the Battle of San Francisco in the new trailer, I bet we just see a new angle of the MUTO.
I've always been impressed with NECA. As for when, I think 60-90 days pre movie release would be a good time to show what is coming.
The more the merrier. I heard how the other monsters get introduced threw other threads, but nothing can be confirmed. But if it’s going to be the way they introduce other monsters then I think the MUTOs won’t be in the movie.
But I would love to see Baragon, Varan, and Anguirus in this. Gigan would be awesome as well
we need a 12 foot Gabara XD
Anguirus, Space Godzilla, Titanosaurs, Manda, Gorgo, Gamera, Super Geon, Yongary, the Giant Behemoth, beast from 20000 fathoms
I think they'll be using the next year to elaborate each Monster's backstory through viral marketing content so they can gloss over some of the details in the film to keep pace.
Not not a fan of the decision. Four monsters is enough, considering they have to set all of them up as well.
I think Anguirus is definitely the most like of any Toho monsters having a cameo, but I think it's going to mostly be OC's that they couldn't figure out what to do with.
Personally I think they shouldn't add anymore monsters so they can give Rodan, Mothra, and Ghidorah more backstory.
