Yeah, that was the explanation given in the film. Thermodynamics? Screw that! Laws of matter? None of that! The anime's Ghidorah did not care one bit for physics until his little pawn was blinded, and thus he was too.
As for this new King Ghidorah, I'm wondering if he's still got any tricks up his nonexistent sleeves besides what we know already.
Maybe he'll power himself up with gravity lightning in a manner akin to how Godzilla presumably powered himself up for the Boston battle and with the Scorched Godzilla state (that's my latest fan name for the form, tell me what you think :P ) in order to combat the latter.
Imagine Thunderclap Ghidorah (my fan name for this hypothetical form, tell me what you think :P ) flying in against Scorched Godzilla! It could be as simple as him generating gravity lightning around his body without necessarily shooting it out to augment his physical capabilities.
G. H. (Gman) I don't exactly remember the explanation, but I do remember seeing it in a video. I don't know if it was Ghidorah's Kaiju Profile by WikiZilla on YouTube, or someone else.
To be honest, I think this story is very sad
I really hope that they make one with MechaGodzilla in it
Did you take pictures of this during school
How is he an optical illusion if he can physically inflict pain on Godzilla? That makes no sense.
They merely state that the rules around King Ghidorah and the universe he hails from don't apply to ours.
^Gareth Edwards isn't part of it anymore, brother.
Well that'll hit your OCD where it hurts.
GojiFanPat I'm not counting other human deaths, just main human deaths
I'm okay with Rodan's screentime in this film, but he better make up for it with plenty of action (for positive feedback), and have an important role in Godzilla vs. Kong (2020). Otherwise, it will be a shame, since it counts as "wasted potential" (as well as it repeating/mirroring how much wasted potential the MUTOs had in the 2014 film).
Don't let me down, Legendary.
Love: The OG Godzilla movie, the king of the monsters from 1954 (Probably the 2019 one too when it comes out)
Got me to love: Wasn't the movies, though technically they did too (Doesn't make sense to me either)
Movie I hate: Godzilla Vs King Kong
Overrated: Godzilla 1998
Underrated: Godzilla 1998 (yeah, I know)
Too bored to make it through: Godzilla Vs King Kong (2014 was kinda boring too, but I made it through. DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH GODZILLA!!!!!)
Movie I could watch on repeat: Godzilla 1954 and the second movie. (Probably Godzilla King Of The Monsters when it comes out too)
Changed my life: all of them and none of them, in a way. (That doesn't make sense to me either)
Guilty Pleasure: Godzilla 1998 (I'm sorry, I hate it and I like it, OK?!!!!!)
MDK 2 Gmkgoji I'm pretty sure he survived Final Wars too, though he may have been beamed up or knocked out. We only really see him when he fights Godzilla alongside King Caesar and Anguirus
Gmkgoji What about that pilot who ejected and got eaten by Rodan?
As much as I'm rooting for Rodan when he fights Ghidorah, I feel like he's going to get his ass kicked.
MDK 2 (MinecraftDinoKaiju) I'm pretty sure that Anime Ghidorah is actually some sort of optical illusion. He only became real when Metphies died. This was the reason why Ghidorah could hurt Godzilla, while Godzilla's attacks either deflected off of him or just phased through Ghidorah.

I remember since a young age watching godzilla the series on netflix when it was on there. The giant monster fights were amazing, and having that feeling of seeing a giant unstoppable lizard king. After that i had an old godzilla movie marathon to get to know the true history of the king of the monsters. I am excited for Gareth Edwards to continue and keep this amazing franchise going.
ZillaDude345 Your welcome :)
Rodan was the way for me to go in terms of the teams, and i highly believe him to be under-rated.
No need for this particular story to mention Godzilla considering the focus is on Katsura and Titanosaurus. As far as we know, the last time Godzilla made a big appearance in this continuity was 1999 (the events of Destroy All Monsters). He may have just been living in peace on Monsterland since then.
Thnak you for joining the team Rodan homie squad lmao
I Just joined team Rodan, after close decision I have to go with team Rodan
Have you thought that maybe it's your height when you lift your head to the sky to blast? Recall that unlike Shin, the position of LegendaryG. is less erect, more inclined.
See Rodan is so underrated I had a hard time choosing between joining team Godzilla or Team Rodan. Do you think I should join team Rodan?
I would call that more than a mild spoiler
Ghidorah the Three Headed Monster:
Its a good film, but their are definitely downgrades from Mothra vs Godzilla. The characters aren’t very interesting. Most of the characters feel more like plot pieces than actual characters, especially the princess. I only really liked the sister to the main character, even though she is the THIRD female reporter in the Showa Series. The princess, along with being a living exposition scene, is terribly useless, almost always getting herself killed or having to be carried away. Look, I know she’s possessed by an alien from Venus, but Ishiro Honda could of had her at least able to jog instead of walking really slowly be her physical limit. Another major complaint I have is Godzilla and Rodan’s designs and re-characterization. Both have these cutie doe eyes that make them look like they belong in the plushie section of Walmart. I don’t really mind Mothra looking cute that much cause it kinda suits her, though I prefer a more realistic looking one. I can accept cute/chibi Godzilla fan art, but I absolutely refuse to accept Godzilla and Rodan looking cute in the movies. Also their characterization in this is odd to me. If you think I’m disappointed that they started to become more of a good guy in this film, I actually don’t mind that. What bothers me is that they kinda act like pre-schoolers in this one. This is especially noticeable when they laugh their butts off at each other when they get sprayed. I was expecting the fairies during their translation to say that Godzilla says goo goo gaga! Look, I know their monsters and aren’t the sharpest knives in the kitchen, but they could at least act like ADULT monsters. Plus, these guys are supposed to be symbols of nuclear holocaust as well as majestic creatures from a bygone age, so you would think they would be more serious and dignified. This film does have a lot going for it though. Mothra’s design is decent and Ghidorah is a major achievement of Tsuburaya and his crew. It was interesting to see a monster that didn’t attack out of anger or instinct, but out of sheer sadistic pleasure. This must have disturbed audiences at the time since I don’t think their was a monster with that kind of personality before that time. The models are once again quality made and the fight choreography was really good in my opinion. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this film, but I think the good outweighs the bad, so I’ll give it a 4/5.
Mothra vs Godzilla: Of all the films so far, Mothra vs Godzilla ranks only second for me to Godzilla 1954. The main characters are well written and each have their moments to shine. Their most memorable moment for me is when they try to convince the people of Infant Island to ask Mothra to help, culminating in the speech about how both good and bad people have a right to live and that all humans are brothers/sisters and have a responsibility for one another. The villains are hilariously over the top evil like Nelson, so they are both fun to watch too. I found the fight scene between them funny and disturbing at the same time. It’s sort of funny to me cause you wouldn’t usually expect that from a Godzilla movie. While the models are less prominent in this one, the ones that are shown are spot on. Godzilla’s design in this movie is on par with 1954 with the more menacing and realistic facial features. Elderly Mothra looks good as well. You can really tell that she’s on the brink of death with the whitening and wrinkling fur. A lot of people say that the fight between them is just Mothra flapping her wings, but if I remember right Mothra uses her legs to scratch Godzilla a lot. Another complaint I’ve noticed is that people hate that Godzilla was defeated by two newborn Caterpillars. If it was a purely physical battle Godzilla would have won, but I saw the fight as a more strategical battle. The caterpillars won by outsmarting Godzilla, not really physically overpowering him. That just my observation though. All the music is highly quality, especially when the Peanuts are on the scene. I give this masterpiece a generic 5/5.
I like the art work in the case
Yes, i'm very happy that Rodan survives
Gmkgoji Same here. The only part that sucked, though? Godzilla was not mentioned whatsoever. As if he was an afterthought. Such a shame.
Gmkgoji My biggest surprise out of all the spoilers is the fact that Rodan doesn't die. (Despite his track record after the Showa Era suggesting otherwise.) Guess he's finally getting the chance (and durability) he deserves. Hopefully, that means he's in Godzilla vs. Kong (2020).

If Toho didn't give them their own HD master, I hope this is at least Sony's master. Either way the fact this is getting such a nice release can't be overstated. One of the absolute greatest kaiju films of all time.
If Godzilla Jr. shows up, then all bets are off.
BAH! I'm going to say who dies.
