Chris It actually wasn't even that that bugged me. It was the characters that really got under my skin the most, which is highly unusual for a movie. At least for me. I don't know what it was, exactly.
If they had called it ANYTHING else other than Godzilla, it would have made for a rather entertaining Kaiju film. The problem is they used the Godzilla moniker - which immediately set the film up on specific expectations with audiences and fans alike.
It would have made a much better Cloverfield entry, imo.

It's 4 inches tall and 8 inches long, which isn't particularly big I'll grant you, but that money goes towards the details. Each individual scale is defined and if you look at its mouth, the entire thing is detailed, down to inner musculature and taste buds on the skin. That takes hours of work and skill to sculpt and properly paint, which is what you're paying for. I prefer poseable figures to statues, but I can easily see myself spending a solid half hour just staring at all the little intricacies of a well-sculpted statue. You're buying a work of art, and art tends to be expensive. :P
75 bucks for that!? I don't get toy/figure collecting at all.
I honestly don't get the appeal of these kinds of figures. The detailing is good, of course, but I'd rather have a more naturally proportioned figure.
I like. One question though, why the Mothra larvae?

Actually, I think even more time will be spent on WW84, given the proximity. They'll want to pick up the marketing as they get closer to those releases, so I'm banking on WW84 especially to take up the bulk of it.
Possible. But given that Scoob! comes out in May and WW84 in June, I'd imagine they'd have a little more room to showcase GvK since both of those should have new trailers soon.
I bet it's just those 3 seconds leaked in December.
I'd tend to agree with the article, I'm sure something will be shown, just not publicly released.
technically Zilla is still a Godzilla due to starting out as the first incarnation as an american godzilla and no matter what Toho does with the character. Godzilla 1998 is still technically a Godzilla, it only became Zilla in Final Wars

Oh dear... I remember when fans were saying "Radioactive" is the "perfect" song for the 2014 movie. It obviously would've felt tacky.
Also, fans need to pay more attention to lyrics. Just because a song has a single word in it that relates to something else, doesn't mean it fits. "Radioactive" is about depression. Unless we get a movie about a sad Godzilla going to therapy, it's doesn't fit.
