Hmm... How much?
"We did a few days [of additional photography], but it wasn’t really crazy. Like every other film, we did a couple days, and that was kind of it. When you do these big, massive films, there’s always moments that you didn’t see and want to fill in. It was really basic stuff. Nothing too crucial or crazy."
Oh, gee. It's almost exactly what I said it was back in January when it was reported and people started freaking out.
Gosh, imagine that.
Two young girls... Madison is the only child actress in this movie to my knowledge; could she be talking about Maddie and herself? It would seem unlikely, and they're not really children, but could she be referencing the shobijin? Ziyi Zhang is returning
This would be amazing to see in action.
I know what you mean. I've never actually gotten the chance to see a Fast and Furious film, but I am aware of the over the top plots and sequences that make those movies so iconic. KotM seemed to be caught between a grounded/serious tone and just total none sense, coming off as a bit scatterbrained and unknowing of it's tone. I personally prefer the more grounded approach G14 took, and I would have liked that a bit more in KotM, but if GvK is going to go a more crazy rout (and seems like it is) I think it should try to embrace that instead of being conflicted between two different tones. A perfect example of this among the Fast and Furious films is Aquaman, a total whack and chaotic movie that I think works perfectly. However, considering the more grounded universe that has been astablished in the MonsterVerse so far (despite KotM's more fantastical approach), I still think the aircraft carrier (or at least what we know about it) is too much.
The imagery, the music, the sound effects but most of all the giant, misunderstood hero. The way he battles back after almost total defeat!
1. Yes.
2. Likely.
Chris,
Dead serious! Those movies know exactly what they want to be and they do it with heart and charm--Bad ass, over-the-top, hilariously absurd storylines that have gone so far off the deep end they don't care how unrealistic they are. But they do it with a bunch of likable characters too.
If only King of the Monsters went all-in with that kind of over-the-top charm.
They don't put the trailer online because cinemacon is specifically for industry insiders and press I think. Things there aren't meant to be shown to the public yet I guess
No kidding.
All I've got to say is that this movie had better be worth the wait.
You can't be serious about Furious 9.... LOL
I mean... ok.
If anything we have even less info than the original synopsis. Not sure if it's real, but there's a different plot synopsis in the imdb page for GvK that actually has a bit more detail.
So basically the same thing with a few words cut out.
Shrug. Doesn't change much.
1.How likely will there be a 3rd common enemy monster in Godzilla vs Kong?
I see you're new here. Pretty darn likely!
In addition to A Quiet Place II, both Mulan and Fast & Furious 9 have now been moved. (I will laugh my ass off if Mulan moves to November.)
Furious 9 hurts the most. Once my most anticipated movie of 2020... now my most anticipated of 2021 I suppose.
GvK is not the only casualty (A Quiet Place II comes to mind and has no release date now). Other movies will be affected too, just like concerts and sporting events.
It might not be a bad time to consider pay per view somehow. About five or so years ago, there was talk of releasing movies in theaters and streaming (PPV) the same day but I don't think it ever happened.
I was able to track this set down. It’s a miracle. lol
Awaiting arrival
thanks to all who tried to help
Yeah, I was wondering how Toho's agreement with Legendary and WB would affect the possibility of another release date shift. I think given the circumstances, if it means they can profit more off its release by doing so then the decision would be a no-brianer.
KingKaijuGojira
like Chris said, the movie could very well get delayed. With James Bond and Marvel's Eternals both coming out near GvK's current release, along with Coronavirus and late marketing, the film would do very bad in November considering all these circumstances. If it is still going to be set for its release, I would say SDCC is the best time for a trailer to be shown. However, that could be canceled as well. A trailer could drop on the internet without a big cinema event premier, but I'm not sure if that would recieve as much attention, so I think the best option would be to push it back even further (though of course I would still like to see it ASAP). I'm really not sure anymore.
I think this benefits GvK. A trailer closer to the release date will prevent the hype dying down before it comes out
Sonuvah!!! Why can't they just release the trailer online already? They need to give us something and soon.
Shrugs. Oh well.
honestly, i think the delays are causing some hype? however monarch sciences no longer display Godzilla but does display the other three so online marketing may have started with this.
YeOldFossil: never said Godzilla went to shore, just that he made his home in the waters for a time. also, Godzilla would likely have acted to kill the skull crawlers should they have not been kept in check as they would have propagated and left the island which would have destroyed the order of nature.
also from the novelization kong would does not seem to know how long the other titan/Godzilla was in the waters around the island, just that he was there for a time, then left. given the skull, crawlers would have recognized the presence of an alpha and high tailed it out of there.
Chris,
The problem is whether or not they can via their agreement with Toho.
It's possible the film will get pushed to 2022 at this rate. They've shifted once, now facing a box office brawl with 007 and to top it off this Covid-19 virus will only be tailing off around Fall... I wouldn't be surprised if the movie gets bumped again now. Kinda want it to happen too, cause we need this one to be a box office success.
Um, how about just RELEASE IT ONLINE LIKE EVERY OTHER MOVIE TRAILER
(facepalms in frustration)
S.H. MonsterArts Biollante's meticulous sculpt detail, massive proportion and thorough articulation at every neck joint allow for realistic portrayal of scenes from the movie. At an astounding 12", Biollante dwarfs even the mighty King Ghidorah, making her the largest foe Godzilla will ever tangle with DGCustomerFirst.com
Dang, Super Mechagodzilla is THICC
Godzilla wouldn’t care or bother. The skullcrawlers were probably pushed back by Kong’s parents and they retreated after the heavy losses. Also I read the part in the book and they Kong’s would have seen Godzilla through the rocks because he actually witnessed his parents death and watched the skullcrawlers walk away when they won. I’m sure the comic would have mentioned him hearing Godzilla or sensing him.
