The Heisei Godzilla and MonsterVerse Godzilla are some of my favorite designs, so it's pretty cool to see a hybrid of the two.

4. KSI - I dunno, I didn’t enjoy this film as much as the others.

Unsure where to rank KSI and GvK with respect to each other, but I can confidently say G14 still holds its position as my personal favorite of the franchise thus far, with KotM falling to the bottom of the list and the other two movies ending up somewhere in-between.

Also, I am team Kong all the way, though his loss didn't really affect my opinion on the film in any way :/

I can't wait to watch it, Although I do have a few concerns,

1. The monsters seem a bit too small, Godzilla looks like he's about 50 meters like in the Showa series, however Anguirus looks like he's less than 50 ft and the Rodans are the size of normal pteranodons.

2. I really don't like Toho's recent trend of not giving Godzilla a personality. 

Other than that, I'm pretty excited to see it.

I'm going to have to agree with you there. Hollywood seems to do great with Kong--But Kong is also an American creation.

For some reason, after four attempts, Hollywood's sensibilities and westernism kinda clashes with a lot of the things Godzilla stands for, which is inherently Japanese.

I'm not saying a western Godzilla movie can't be done well. In fact, there's some great movies Hollywood has produced in the giant monster genre. (Cloverfield, Pacific Rim, Colossal.) But ultimately, if the Monsterverse continues, I think it should use Kong as its flagship monster, since we tend to nail him better. Kong seems to be the bigger box office draw anyway. Meanwhile, I'm ready for another Japanese Godzilla film.

The first two episodes are outstanding. Can't wait for the rest of the world to experience this. It's really building toward a very apocalyptic Godzilla and the characters are wonderful.

So far This is my 2nd fav era featuring Godzilla Aside from the Heisei era and I hope to see some Heisei kaiju in the future like Desoroyah (Godzilla in burning mode the ENTIRE movie would be awesome), Biollante, And Spacegodzilla. Obviously, I'm Team Godzilla.

For me, it's going to be:

1. Godzilla Vs. Kong

2. Kong: Skull Island

3. Godzilla: King of the Monsters

4. Godzilla (2014)

It's been great so far, so hopefully WB and Legendary continue the MonsterVerse!

I also really enjoy Monsterverse Mecha.

Personally, I found 04 Gigan's design a little tacky looking, but that's just me. I'm a sucker for the old one.

I liked how Monsterverse Ghidorah looked like a strange snake/bat/dragon hybrid. Very cool take.

Overall I really like this series. I've enjoyed all of the movies so far and I really hope that Legendary and Warner Bros. are able to continue this series.

As someone who really enjoyed King of the Monsters, it kind of makes me sad to see how poorly it did...

As someone who really liked Godzilla vs Kong though, it makes me extremely happy to see it doing well.

i first came into contact with toho films when i was about 12 years old. we had a cinema here that held a youth show for the kids on saturdays. so you could watch films for 2 marks (that's about 90 cents converted). so i know a lot of gojira movies.

Indeed. They really perfected the guttural, bassy roar in the 80s as well. I was always disappointed the changed it in 1992.

GMK could've really benefited from that roar and Legendary's as well. They just look too big for such high pitched roars. It was nice when Godzilla popped a few of the real roars out in the King of the Monsters though.
