COLLECTORS would buy it and if you're such a collector then you would invest in sai dprodeuct.

If the second trailer was shown during the Super Bowl, I think most reactions would be: Wow, that trailer looked cool. I sho- FOOTBALL! FOOTBALL FOOTBALL! GO TEAM, SCREW THAT MONSTER THING, BECAUSE I GOT FOOTBALL!

I'm going to re-watch both War of the Gargantuas and it's prequel, Frankenstien Conquers the World, soon. I need to know if they still live up to how fondly I remember them and decide which one is better... It's been so long that I really can't decide right now.

Jumping back to this topic, I've done a little digging about possibilities for the Showa movies that Sony dropped.

Classic Media, apparently, won't pick them up because sales numbers weren't as high as they had hoped for the Godzilla movies they released. If anyone wants to try and change that, more fans should buy Mothra vs. Godzilla, Ghidorah: The Three Headed Monster, Invasion of Astro-Monster, All Monsters Attack and Terror of MechaGodzilla. (Though it's probably too late.)

And Criterion won't release any more Godzilla titles because of how fans whined and complained that the box art was wrong and badmouthed Criterion about not putting more extras on it. (Which is silly, since Criterion's Godzilla is the most deluxe version released in North America yet...)

I'd say our best hope is Shout!Factory, because they did a great job with the Showa Gamera titles. But the issue there is Toho charges more money for the Godzilla titles and are typically harder to negociate with. I don't know if Shout!Factory would want to deal with that or even find it finacially feasable.

I think it would be awesome if they did the same thing they did with the PREDATORS film. Build up the classic theme and then right when the main verse is about to kick off, and the screen goes black, just play the Mothra theme... I know, it would be just trolling the audience, but as a fan I would laugh my ass off!

I think you all are underestimating Smaug's size, or overestimating Godzilla's size. In the movie, he seems to be about 150 feet long, which is just about the same size as the original Godzilla and several Millenium incarnations. He'd still be curbstomped by Godzilla, but not because of size, like everyone's been saying, but because of their abilities:

Smaug's Abilities:

-Ordinary fire breath.

-Immunity to Medieval conventional weapons (e.g. swords and arrows).

-Flight.

Godzilla's Abilities:

-Thermonuclear fire breath.

-Immunity to modern conventional weapons (e.g. tanks and missiles) and alien/futuristic weapons (e.g. lasers and), and, in some incarnations, things like nukes, meteors, and even black holes.

-Wolverine-like regeneration.

Every must realize its cost 30 million bucks to get a spot for 30 seconds LOL. Also it been reported Warner bros havent bought a spot on the superbowl. Unless they are trying be to be secret about it. i will say March 7th because the when 300 Rise of the Empire comes out. to the confident it will be released during the Movie theaters. it is also a Legendary Blockbluster movie like Godzilla. its a Sci-film & i dont thiink why not. well thats 2 months away. we got real close to seeing the movie. But also as we approach the movie.. remember we will get more videos on the M.U.T.O website

I'm pretty sure they won't be putting the big G down in this movie. Gareth Edwards is all sorts of pumped to make a sequel, assuming this movie goes well. And if we're going to go by the original Godzillas, then he is going to be damn near indestructable. At least to human weapons.

The most they'll change to the godzilla origin story are minute details. They already announced they're going to refer to 1954. And this is a reboot, so it won't be continuing of off the destroyah story line at all. It's a new storyline in its own right. Plus, you won't be seeing any other classic monsters in this movie and probably not even mentioned. TOHO only gave the rights to Godzilla. Not the rights to any other monster. 

Robocop is a possibility although that's not made by Legendary. Also why os the trailer not on iTunes trailers yet??

The comparison to sizes is a bit to far to be considered fair. Smaug would be a fly to Godzilla. I always thought it funny that they considered him a dinosaur in a lot of those old movies. He was way to big to ba a dinosaur. Even the big dinosaur in the third Jurassic Park would have been a bug to be squashed by Godzilla. All you can say about Godzilla is that he was a freak of nature created by radiation fall out, and nothing to do with fossils or dinosaurs or anything from the prehistoric age. Even the original King Kong was about a third of his size, although they made him bigger for that one movie, but if you see the original 1930's movie and the new one by Peter Jackson. He is about one third the size of Godzilla.

The movies own ending theme. Not some weird, song or dubstep or remix...Just let Alexandre do what he want with thed music. His music is gorgeous!

A trailer during Superbowl would be a bad idea if you ask me...they would pay all that money for the slot...and odds on, with how American's get all excited over the game, they'd probably forget all about it by the end of it anyhow. Personally I'd have the film brought forward to replace the Superbowl ;) It would be MUCH better to watch.

If this is a complete re-imagining of the very first Godzilla, we should really keep an open mind. Yes the original was created out of radiation fallout, accidentally man made yet as natural as the force of the sea ect ect...do we really want it to be the same back story? If there are to be other genetically modified Kaiju/creatures in the film, they need to really all come from the same source. Like, the same nuclear radiation leak causing a bucket load of things to mutate, one of which happens to be Godzilla, who, doesn't so much want to fight other monsters but, maybe he see's them as prey? He is an animal after all...the military's role in the film obviously then clean up the mess that's been made by the government. It's going to be a sad film ultimately as we know they'll put down G' but it's a case of, at what cost?
