JULIEN BARRESI The only thing I applaud is the good photoshopping
Lol I like how you didnt refer the 1998 Godzilla as the "First American Godzilla" haha.
But I really respect this photo, took you hours to do this, well I bet it was worth it then ;)
I applaud the individual responsible for this, it looks really good and well designed. I would hope that the actual box looks this good.
Enough with the Zilla hate, jeez. And this is awesome. Love it.
@DRAGONLORD TEVIN
Idk I though the acting in some of the films were great especially in the first film.
and for the seriousness, I thought some were pretty great especially in these films,
.Gojira 1954
.Godzilla raids again
.Godzilla vs Destroyah
.Godzilla GMK
.Godzilla againts Mecha Godzilla
.GMK Godzilla
KING_OF_ZOMBIES Lol love that theory haha
KYERO Wattup smartie, did you read my reply on that other discussion? Well then read my message up there ^ and im messaging here again so I can bring up this discussion higher for you to see it better. Oh yeah, and if you have nothing to reply with because youd just realize how much of an idiot you were assuming and writing a long ass comment up there ^ about something wrong the whole time, then just put a letter as an excuse reply so youll proved that you saw my message
Godzilla has a rather large fanbase, but it's spread out across the world and is most heavily concentrated in Japan and the United States.
But I wouldn't worry about it too much. Godzilla's reign has seen its share of highs and lows before, particularly low between the times of 1975-1984, 1994-1999, 2004-2014. It's unlikely that his reign will end anytime soon just because Legendary's marketing has been less than stellar.
@AKAGI, @INSTINCTIVEGIGAN Jeeze we are getting really annoyed by this dude huh? I respect you two for being smart against whats his name;
KYERO,thats his name, now how bout you stfu and stop acting like you know everything here. You know a lot about Godzilla, I know a lot about Godzilla, most of us know alot about Godzilla on this website, ur not an upgrade of us ok.
But what I really wanna ask is; you want us to do our research??? Gosh I hate it when you say that, and I bet im not the only one that does too. So tell me kid, whats ur research? The only TRUE FACT research we have is Legendary, Warner Bros, and Gareth Edwards, so are you suggesting we research on other fan websites and even trollling websites?
Yeah good researching bro, BUT IM NOT FINISH WITH YOU: Get the hell back to my "Explain this Sh!t" discussion cuz I replied to your smartass comment and I believe you werent aware of that, so please go check what I said to you cuz youll learn something
The physics of radiation escape me, as I'm no radiation expert, however I do know that it's much more complicated than just "gas" or "concentrated beam of vaporization" that has been discussed thus far.
As far as Godzilla's thermonuclear breath is concerned, it's going to be very difficult to make it believable and realistic in any way. Having a monster like Godzilla be able to charge and release a concentrated beam of radiation is about as practical as asking a puppy to shoot acid from its nostrils while lacking the necessary sac or gland that actually provides the acid in the first place. Begin born of radiation, if that is indeed Godzilla's origin give the fact that we haven't confirmed how he is born or created yet, does not automatically grant Godzilla immunity to the forces which created him.
Godzilla's radioactive properties are the result of exposure to radiation fallout. Having absorbed it and grown from it, Godzilla does have resistance to it, but again it's not guaranteed immunization. If you ask anyone who actually studies radiation, they'll give you a more detailed explanation why this is the case.
I've seen a lot of Godzilla fans on this site saying that Godzilla could withstand a nuke or even absorb it and grow stronger.
BZZZT!!
The shockwave alone would vaporize Godzilla, to say nothing of the heat and sheer volume of radiation given off by the initial blast. As big as he is, and despite being born of radiation, Godzilla is not impervious to a nuclear blast. The radioactive properties he gained from the fallout still don't give me a reason to actually buy into his ability to take it and concentrate it into a beam from his mouth. This ability has confounded me ever since I was a kid. And yes, even then, I didn't believe his breath was something that should have existed but I never questioned it that at that time because I thought it was badass.
So... how can he have a radiation breath?... I don't know.
It still doesn't make sense how he can concentrate radiation into a focused beam. Radiation doesn't just grant you whatever powers you want, so Legendary better have done their research on this because this is probably going to be the single most difficult part of Godzilla's design to make believable. Finding a way for him to realistically be able to gather and focus radiation into a beam, good luck Legendary!
As long as it looks badass and has some kind of explanation I can understand, I'm good.
Why did you have to put zilla?-_- It's a good family tree anyways.
Scratch that off, to be honest the reason I like Godzilla is because of my mom. She is the only Godzilla fan i known.
Its really popular in Japan of course because thats where they make the movies, but thats not the problem why most americans dont have interests in Godzilla.
Ill be really honest right now and say that TOHO is not capable of making Godzilla movies, they lack acting, lack seriousness, make them too silly, bad dubbing, and idk just those stuff which makes people find Godzilla pretty stupid.
Thats why im very happy for this film so people can finally take Godzilla more seriously and we G fans will finally have no more problems talking about Godzilla publicly with no bad comments about it, unless those people are assholes
The size of the Godzilla fan base pales in comparison next to its mainstream comic book counterparts. I've seen maybe six people wearing Godzilla t-shirts in my entire life, the merchandise can be hard to find or incredibly expensive, and a movie hasn't been made in ten years.
On the flipside, I could walk to a Target and find a wide selection of Batman, Superman, X-Men, and Spider-Man shirts, toys and movies for cheap.
I'm a Godzilla fan, but I won't let my fanboyism blind me to the truth. We're a bit of a fringe group, and that's fine.
To be honest I've seen G Fans in the internet but I've never seen one but me in real life, I feel alone ):
I think 'Guardians of The Galaxy' is going to have a Superbowl spot too.
I think it will be like GMK Godzilla atomic breath, powerful.
He will tack damage like a boss.
Fan Made or Fake, You deside on the next episode.
godzilla should quickly heal and regenerate the damage
Sorry i was pretty pissed right now , limme just change the name of this topic
You my friend are the best artist I've ever seen. It's a masterpiece and a work of art 10/10. Farewell my good sir.
GMAN 2887 Thanks for covering up sme of my worries, got to learn to read a little further. lol
Looks great, especially for fanmade.
If the new Godzilla looked like GMK Godzilla with a different head crappilly photoshopped on to him than yeah, looks just like him.
Ummm...Closest? Weve had three, no four, leaked toys and a trailer... It wouldnt call this the closest look, not even "kind of" close.
Judging by the official toy that had 2 items (Book and Box) displayed next to it, I have a feeling it will be blue. cuz i had some sort of blue thing in its mouth.
Oops the picture wont show
I cannot answer this question at all O.O wonderful topic btw.
And I wont even compare this Godzilla with TOHO's Godzillas, because we know TOHO's Godzillas been STABBED by other monsters which clearly makes no sense. Just because theyre big monsters like Godzilla doesnt mean they can stab Godzilla; Megaguirus, Biollante, etc.
And the only answer I have for this solution is an answer that we'll probably never see in this movie, but I just believe Kiryu's spinning hand drill is the only thing that would really penetrate Godzilla.
Or actually, if they make a weapon like Kiryu's hand drill in this movie or in a sequel, then yes thats a solution
I agree with GMAN2887 there wont be any superbowl spot for Godzilla.
But if I was to agree with you, then I would totally love if they secretly hide from telling us theres a trailer in there and it shows up out of nowhere
@INSTINCTIVEGIGAN, wazzup man! I wanna start off by saying thank you for always providing a link to your discussions unlike so many who just say stuff.
Ex: "GODZILLA WILL FIGHT 4 MONSTERS. THE 2 TWO MUTOS, A HIPPO, AND BARNEY"
"What's your source?"
"Well I uh..I like heard it somewhere. Dont doubt what Im saying though"
That has happened way too many times. Lol Anyway, if it happens, awesome! I will keep my eye out for it. If not, Im sure we'll get something soon anyway. No need for people to be attacking each other with pitchforks over a trailer. However, if a 2nd one is released...I REALLY wanna see the airport scene.
@Kyero, You do make some valid points, but I will disagree with you about Godzilla's breaking point. You need to remember that Gareth wants to bring the King of the monsters back to how he was potrayed in 1954. He was made from radiation. All a WMD would do is make him even more powerful. Also, if he got killed by a WMD, that would technically make him the weakest of the Godzillas (not counting Zilla of course). It would be very disappointing, and it would be a cop out if you ask me. He is suppose to be 350' feet tall, and he is also suppose to be the most powerful.
That being said, I can see your reasoning. Gareth has said that he wants to make it realistic. However, people tend to get that confused. Reliasitic does not neccessarily mean that Godzilla himself will be portrayed like a real animal, with physical weaknesses. He means that Godzilla will instead be just a powerhouse. He just won't do anything campy like the Showa series Godzilla.
I think there was no point in making another thread about the Super Bowl trailer or lack thereof, especially since there's three or four others floating around. Maybe more.
I also think you didn't do your research because it has been confirmed that Captain America 2, Spider-Man 2, Transformers 4, Need for Speed and Draft Day will get Super Bowl spots. And it has been denied that any WB movies, including Godzilla, will be advertised. And Fox is apparently not interested in advertising at the Super Bowl either-- as far as we know. That's the only studio without any confirmation or denial.
@GODZILLAFAN1995 - Nothing, not even Godzilla, would be immune to a WMD. Any nuke, no matter the size, would be enough to vaporize Godzilla upon contact with the shockwave alone. If you want proof, then take this piece of info as some food for thought: scientists who studied the nuclear bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki estimated that they were using mere fractions of a percent of their total destructive output. Flaws in the design? Maybe. But either way, if Godzilla got hit by something like that, born of radiation or no, he'd be vaporized.
The whole monster=force of nature is only a metaphor people. It's not literal.
Godzilla is being seen as a force of nature, a powerful existence that cannot be controlled in any way. You can either get out of the way, or say goodbye. However, that doesn't mean that he'll be indestructible by any means.
As a living creature, even Godzilla's flesh has its limits. Artillery fired into the same place multiple times could break through due to the fact that everything in this world has a stress point. Once that point is crossed, anything can be bent or broken. Godzilla will be no different. He might have a similar sense of unstopability to his original Toho incarnation, but he'll hardly be invincible, let alone against a WMD.
All im saying is that it should look like GMK's,
