Not goina lie there are some good ideas in this thread. Truth be told I have two ideas, although parts of this thread have inspired it.
1. A Godzilla game similar to the King Kong game that came out at the launch of the last console cycle. Not sure if you remember that game, but it involved most of the game playing a human lost on King Kong's island, which definitely made you feel small very fast, and periodically the perspective would shift to playing as Kong where you could wreck absolute face against people, T-Rexes, and other creatures. A Godzilla game along these lines where you're playing a person in the military that shifts to Godzilla on occasion would be awesome especially with the Frostbite 3 engine and the power of next gen graphics.
2. A Godzilla free-roaming game where you control the King in a 3rd person action adventure style game would be epic. I feel like they'd have to focus it somewhere, like Japan or the East/West coast of the US. You could have multile side missions such as taking out submarines or muto research labs. To maintain Godzilla's power you could have to periodically attack a nuclear plant or submarine to absorb radiation and level up. Main story missions could include having to hit a secret target in a city, intercepting other kaiju, rescuing Godzilla's son or Anguiras or other friendly monsters that you may have formed an alliance with from various threats. etc. Again, destruction engine in this could be amazing. It could also have a morality system like the Elder Scrolls or other games where how you act with Godzilla, say choosing to rescue a shipping vessel in trouble or sink it, attack the army or avoid conflict, could decide if the humans fight against you or with you.
Either way there's a lot of potential for a game if a creative enough studio took it over. Too bad WB and Legendary are splitting otherwise I'd want the team that made the Arkham games to make it. I'd be fine if it didn't come out this summer or even this year as long as they did a serious, good job with the game. Heck, I bet we never thought a Batman game would get game of the year but it's happened twice... I know they can do it with Godzilla.
It would be kinda've dissapointing if it was just the insect-Mutos but I am dying to see them!
I Kinda doubt it will be on Feb 7th too, and plus I can wait and I would like them to take their time on it and make it as good as the first trailer or better.
Plus I have a high feeling they might release it on march and attach it to the 300 sequel.
Since they are going with a realistic approach on Godzilla this time (ex. stump feet used to support weight of Godzilla, gills to breathe underwater) I think the spines are either plates like a Stegosaurus or the traditional, scutes or dorsal spines, whatever you want to call them.
That is really cool. I like the spines and snout the most.
I think it's safe to say that more trailers will be coming really soon.
Kyero, We are just making assumptions. This is what the forums are for. We are not saying "IT IS" a MUTO, we are just guessing what it is and sharing our thoughts. We will never know what it really is until the movie releases like you said.

For anyone thinking that the realism of this film is going to be literal, it's not. We must still suspend out disbelief about a creature as large as Godzilla ever existing.
Remember that radiation doesn't just do whatever you want it to. Godzilla's mutation and transformation into the form we know and love today is an impossible feat and the result of nothing more than a fantastical imagining of a terrifying creature that represented the horrors of the atomic bomb in Japan nine years before the film was released in 1954.
Godzilla would never exist, nor would any Kaiju. This movie's realism is geared towards the reaction if it could, but we know it never could. Still, we'll see where Legendary takes it.
But if they keep like how the Japanese makes it then it shouldn't kill him because nukes don't do anything to him but make him stronger.

There is zero confirmation about any of the MUTO's final names or forms.

We might get one in February, but there is no confirming that it's coming on the 7th. In fact, I can almost confirm that it's not.
The one who started the rumor of the Feb 7th trailer was started by one of the many failed prophets who tried to predict the first official trailer release. There is no reason to put stock or faith of any kind in that prediction just because it falls on a day of a WB title release. Just sit tight and be patient.

There is nothing in the shot that would describe accurately what is in the trailer. All we know is that some kind of claw-like appendage has crashed down on the train.

Just be patient. We'll get a look at the MUTOs soon enough. If we don't get anything with the next trailer or two then we'll get it when the movie comes out. It's only three and a half months away. You guys can afford to stop trying to pretend you know what's in the shot and be responsible with the "information" you have.

That creature was drawn from memory of a fan who saw the SDCC teaser.
Remember that it was just that: a teaser. It didn't showcase the final design of any of the creatures in it, so you shouldn't put stock in that image. It's just a recollection of a monster used to whet your appetite at a Godzilla focused exhibit at Comic Con.
Whatever the final MUTO designs are, we have no idea what they are yet. Just be patient and wait for the details to arrive. At the very least, we might be lucky and get a glimpse of one or more of them in the next trailer whenever it shows up.

It depends on where the nuke hits and where Godzilla is.
If Godzilla is hit dead on with the nuke, he's going to be vaporized like anything else caught in its wake. He'd need to be safely outside the blast zone, but inside the range of effect for radiation fallout to be absorbed into his body without killing him instantly unless he was already a corpse.
Something everyone needs to understand is that radiation doesn't just do what you want it to. Godzilla's mutation, his very existence, his atomic breath, all of it is actually pure fantasy made purely for movies. No creature on Earth would ever actually mutate into a Godzilla if it was hit with radioactive fallout. If anything, it'd just die.

To me it was always one of my favorites. I always thought that SpaceG's design was cool, and I liked the battles.

That's really weird. I reckon it is the flying MUTO and it makes sense too since the train is high up. Can't wait to see what happens in that scene when I watch the film.
