Thanks for the welcome.

And, I did try that, but when I hit start discussion, it just said I needed to log in, again, even though I already was.  Then, when I logged in again, it just said "error:you are already logged in."  Anyway, I'll try and edit it, now, and see if it works.

Welcome to the forums.

There's a button located beneath "format" that's the "Insert/edit image" option. Once you click it a small window will pop up where you can paste the image link in and hit ok. The image will appear in your post.

Also, quick question.  I kept trying to post with the actual images in the OP.  Anybody have a clue why it wouldn't let me post it like that?

Not bad, but as a recording arts major with sound design experience, I think you can do better.

There is some nasty distortion at the end of the roar that I think you can get rid of as well as maybe cleaning up the sound in general. It's a little muddy right now.

Good effort though, but I think you have the capability to make it even better!

Definitely nice drawings. I draw stick people so drawing a monster is out of the question.

However, we have a new view of what the winged Muto will look like thanks to pictures on the back of a Godzilla destruction pack toy. The winged Muto has skin between the two front legs and its hind legs, almost like a bat, but it has a diamond shaped head that is very thick and conneted to its body with almost no neck. It's an interesting design, and though these sketches are good they are fairly off the mark.

Still well done though, no arguments.

We do discourage tons of repeat posts like let's say the Snickers ad, but that would only get locked. Also, if you are new and have under a certain number of posts they sit in waiting to be approved by staff, we had to do that because of spammers. If it didn't get posted its because you are still under the limit and staff simply hasn't gotten around to approving it yet, it has nothing to do with the content of the post, unless of course it's the 20th post about the Snickers ad. XD

The basic rules for posting are: 1-Have a proper title that reflects the content of the post. 2-Be respectful of others when posting, responding in threads. 3- try not repeat post simple things like the Snickers ad. XD

G. H. (Gman)Godzilla ForumDestoryah is Overrated

I keep missing the new posts here by a week or so...

Anyway, I still think the pairing Destroyah against Godzilla is a weak association to the weapon itself. The plot point of characters pitting one monster against another goes all the way back to King Kong vs. Godzilla-- it has more association with that movie in hindsight than it does with the original film.

I do agree the "greatest foe" might be up for debate. The irony is I would pick any of those monsters you listed over Destroyah for iconic purposes.

UPDATE #3: Npinkham brought it to my attention that a new re-release of Mothra has recently made it to the market along with three other Hollywood giant monster movies. It's available on a one disc DVD set from Mill Creek.

I also took off the "rumored" status for the Sony and Media Blasters titles. Media Blasters has confirmed Godzilla vs. Megalon and the Sony titles are available for pre-order on Amazon.com

Info has been added to the original post.

My first movie was Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974).  Before that, I avidly watched the cartoon with Godzooky.  I also distinctly remember seeing the 1998 film in theaters when I was 6 and being really confused at how different Godzilla looked in it.

I prefer the movies on the Toho Sci-Fi Collection, but there's some good ones here. 20 Million Miles to Earth and It Came from Beneath the Sea are classic 1950s, stop motion monster romps. Really awesome movies right there. The Giant Claw is... probably one of the worst american monster movies in history... I don't think I'll ever sit through that again.

Forgot Mothra was going to be on this set. I'll have to update the DVD/Bluray Re-release thread. Lets move this conversation there and I'll credit you for the information. Thanks, NPinkham.

I posted about that wing and my post was never allowed because there had already been too much talk about it? We'll, seems like it's still being discussed. All shots of that flying muto (planes crashing (muto's wings and front view diving), helicopter spinning out of control (muto wing and claw), and even the train scene (muto beak), show a gray colored creature. Coincedence?

I definitely think the bat theory is a good guess at it, but to add to it, im thinkin the red/orange highlights on the arms are the cheap toy equivalent of fire. At 2:13 in the trailer you see one of its limbs hit the ground. ON IMPACT, not before or after, it bursts into flames. Maybe it blew something up underneath, or maybe one of its powers will be a "fire punch" of sorts

Personally, I think they look exactly the same. Take a picture of yourself from an down angle than an up angle, tell me how similar you look. Ber honest, most of us look a lot friendlier and less imposing from a down angle than we do from an up angle. Brazil photo is the same Godzilla as the Empire Magazine, just from a different angle, with different lighting. Its the same design. I've tried explaining this, people just don't seem to want to accept it (Most people hate the brazil photo, but to me, I've yet to see evidence showing that the brazil photo doesn't represent the final design)

Regardless-- I hope this gets through to people, but I doubt it will. They are going to continue to assume that the Brazil photo is not accurate, despite being on all the boxes-- and bandai isn't going to use an non-relevant design.

Until I hear edwards saying "Yeah the godzilla on that box is completely different than mine" I'm going to continue to assume its the same design from different perspectives.

Either way, I hope that doesn't come off as being too mean. I'm really not trying to start an argument, just explaining something.

This is coming from someone who has friends in the advertising business, I know how much lighting and perspective can change the way someone looks and maybe its just silly for me to expect people to have that knowledge in their back pocket.

AkagiGodzilla 2014 ForumAttention All G-Fans!!! Can we please improve decorum around here?

@Godzillafan1995

Way to name-drop. I get it, you don't like the fact that I'm right. I'm not here to make enemies, if I come off as paumpus, its only because I disagree with you. I've seen people be way meaner to me and Gman and you never attacked them for being aggressive, usually because they agreed with you. Its all good until someone says something that you disagree with, then they're a jerk I guess.

Regardless, the Brazil photo is completely relevant, it is the final design, and its part of the advertising campaign. it represents the final design. You saw one magazine cover from a different angle and lighting and decided that the design you didn't like is no longer relevant. Do you see how that paumpus attitude can fuel a paumpus reply from me?

What you're seeing with this Godzilla, the brazil and the magazine, is what I like to call the 'selfie effect'. Take a picture of yourself from an down angle, in the bathroom, with good lighting. Then have someone take a picture of you from a down angle, in a dark room, with ambient lighting. You'll look completely different.

I get a bit annoyed that you're assuming that the design you don't like-- that is like plastered on... I dunno, half a dozen boxes now, probably going to be on hundreds of things when the film finally comes out-- is falsehood because you saw one magazine cover from a different angle with different lighting.

The Godzilla i've seen in the trailers, magazine, and brazil photo all look the same to me, but from different angles, perspectives, and lighting. When I've explained this to you, I dunno, a hundred times in the past, you continue to come back with your argument which is based completely on one. magazine. cover.

A magazine render which is obviously a cgi render vs a toy box illustration. They are not going to produce hundreds of boxes with a design on it that does not represent the final product. Just because you've seen Godzilla from like 3 different angles and he doesn't look as sweet or kind as he did in the brazil photo-- it doesn't equate to you being right or me being wrong. They aren't going to use that design all over the boxes if it wasn't the final design.

I'm sorry you don't like it, and I'm sorry me correcting you comes off as brash and rude, I can't help that. No way to say what someone doesn't wanna hear without upsetting them.

Now that i've gone out of my way to explain myself, I'm officially closing this discussion with you Godzillafan1995. If you wanna be passive aggressive about it and namedrop, please do it somewhere I'm not going to see it.

As for everyone else in this thread, I agree completely-- but I doubt the offenders are going to even read everyone's massive walls of text (Mine included) and find nothing more than reasons to be angry at you and challenged by your intelligence. Mostly what we are fighting here is common sense and perspective vs wishful thinking and over-excitedness. I don't think we are going to win. Expect lots of "OMG EBIRAH IS IN THE MOVIE" or "Godzilla is eight hundred feet tall" kind of posts in the future, regardless of whether or not these people have been proven wrong a thousand times in the past.

You know what? I think the "what's this" in the photo (Bandai figure)... may be the first look of the MUTO, and that it kind of "evolves" in a greater and more giant MUTO: the one in the draw.

I think the same about the multilegged Muto, it may be a larvae that "evolves" into the Winged MUTO.

What do you think?
