I agree that the movie will follow the cast more than Godzilla itself.
but almost a dozen monsters is too manyit takes away from Godzilla I don't want to see the LeBron James dunk over my elderly mother giving her a nice dunk face I want to see him go up against a Durant.if you just slapping around monsters that's no fun for anybody he needs a challenge
@GODZILLA HIMSELF
Nice job, that is just pure awesome.
Too many monsters would be at 11 or more. The reason I say this is because this is the first movie and it needs to show Godzilla and his power, not every freakin monster there will be in the series!
I agree with the story will follow the cast more then Godzilla. If there is going to be almost a dozen monster then that takes away from godzilla. i wouldn't want leabron james dunking on my elderly mother giving her a facial(basketball term). I want to see him go against Durant. If he's just slapping around some punk Mutos then whats cool about that. he needs a challenge.
if they would rip off the mighty gojira in this kind of way then yeah they definitly need to be sued i watched mega shark vs giant octopus and how lame can you get? i would have rather watched zilla over this crap.
new line cinema theather in kentucky yeah i live in redneck town XD
So much love for this! XD hahaha!
in my honest opinion no three is not too many destroy all monsters one of our all time favorites had 11 monsters total, final wars which some people dont like i personally do even though it is a bit cheesy but it had i think around 11-14 in it so i look foward to seeing these mutos fit in with the big g :)
happy 60th godzilla.
Why would it be too much? Two monsters sound great to me (three is okay too, but im more inclined to believe for there to be only two). It gives Godzilla a chance to show of his powers, and the fans have wanted to see a really good looking, well designed CGI Godzilla thrash some other monsters.
Also, i dont think you can really compare this to Pacific Rim (Not saying PR is bad, i love it), because of how different the story is. I have a feeling that there will be alot more Aaron and company than Godzilla and the MUTOs (MUTOs? MUTI? MUTWOS?).
guys that is for the official novelization i should know because the date on the book is also the date the book is released amazon has it available to pre order now if you all are looking for it :)
that is amazing so this is the muto that barely comes up to godzillas ankle huh? cant wait to see that in theathers :)
@ true american godzilla
either way it goes no one is safe lol :) look out theathers godzilla is coming.
This Godzilla is supposed to be a "force of nature". That can work with or against you. So it all depends on the situation.
how about a cross between muto and monster x? think you could do something like that?
final wars is my favorite
force of nature :) he will destroy the mutos and then us (humanity) :)
Simple and artistic. I like it! :)
Potential tattoo material...hhmmmm....
yeah i realize that but some people in general want them now and who can blame them? but yeah you make a really good point, besides wal mart and toys r us will have them in stock i think within 1-2 weeks :)
Wow, isnt that price gouging? Wait a couple of weeks and get em for half that price in a store. Not worth it just to say "I got mine first"... Thx for the heads up..
I don't know why they would leave anything off the table with this one. They only come out with this movie every few decades so might as well use whaterver monsters they want without crowding the screen. Its not like godzilla has any important history or characters that transfer between movies like the batman trilogy. Most people go just to see destruction, hence why the transformer series is so profitable.
hopefully 2 hours and 30 minutes
I agree not that cute but nice fart.
wowwww.....that looks incredible cant wait now to buy this bad boy :)
If that movie didn't have the tiny godzillas running around I wouldn't have a problem with that movie. That is another fear of mine that personal character development will be forced on us by people running away from godzilla when in reallity they are all dead if they are anywhere near the city. Sorry off topic.
Eh, I don't think on-screen death exactly equates dark. I think that's mostly up to the tone of the film and how it carries specific elements like death. Bambi displayed death as well, that doesn't make it a particularly dark movie.
A lot of people point at Godzilla vs. Hedorah as a dark movie for its death toll and how Hedorah effects humans. Maybe visually, yes it is dark, but atmospherically I don't exactly agree. I do think it's a wonderful and welcomed break in series norm, tone-wise, but it's still mostly fun-- albeit, arguably arthouse fun.
I see your point, but hey, it won't be as boring as the 1998 film
"Dark" is nothing new in the Godzilla genre. If you look at almost all the Showa Godzilla films, I'd say they're far darker than all the heisei Godzilla movies (including Millenium movies as well)
Reasons being simple, the Showa films actually showed death, or at least implied them. All the nineties films really downplayed how many people died, you never heard about it. Honestly the 'darkest' Mill-film was GMK, but even then, it was in a goofy, silly comic-bookish way. Lets not forget that Showa Mothra and Rodan, in their respective films, had higher deathtolls than Godzilla in his original film.
Look at Godzilla vs Hedorah, you see the actually effects of Hedorah's poison. People melt-- they fricken melt. One thing you can say in the films where Godzilla is a 'hero' is that he is more of an anti hero, and at least in that guise, he has a purpose. To me-- that is a lot more interesting than 'big dumb animal happens to accidentally stumble upon world saving battles all the time" ala what the fans seem to want.
yeah sorry, it said last night when I posted it that it was showing up, not sure what happened
I like it. I love simple stuff like this. Real nice.
UPDATE #7: Like I did with the other DVD/Bluray thread, I've added links for everyone to pre-order them from Amazon.com. I included the prices next to the links as well. I did this on my lunch break, so if there's some confused links let me know.
It is real!? This is awesome, i love these kind of abstract posters! Reminds me of the "golem-Godzilla" poster.
This is cool! :)
@DANNYBLAZOR yeah! That would be a nice cover for a book! Or maybe for a comic!
...Maby this is the cover for the Awakening book? ;)
@ZillaHater
I've compiled information for all FUTURE bluray/DVD releases in the other thread here:
http://www.godzilla-movies.com/community/forums/topic/31981
In short, Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla will be double featured on a disc with Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II.
Meanwhile, no one knows what's going on with Son of Godzilla or Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla. The Sony versions are out-of-print and extremely expensive if you find them. There's a chance Kraken Releasing is the new distributor for those movies, but until there's an official announcment, both movies are limbo and have no North American distributor.
@GorrillaWhale
I apologize about my limited information regarding Region 2 Godzilla films, especially in the UK. I've tried doing some research, but as far as I can tell the only Godzilla titles available in English Region 2 are as follows:
Godzilla (1954)
King Kong vs. Godzilla
Godzilla: Final Wars
Godzilla 1998
I'll try harder at compiling a better region 2 list once I'm more confident in my research.
This kind of looks like a book cover to me, anybody else? No? Ok...
Great I will try and post mine, maybe tomorrow.
@GOJIRA2K,
you have inspired me! im sure yours will be a whole freaking lot better but i decided to draw one myself, its done so ill post it asap :D
