Its going to be too much.
Trust me, my Doctorate is in cinema
And pediatrics.
I DID THIS ARTWORK FEW DAYS BEFORE THE NEW TRAILER COMES OUT.
godzilla is da bomb!
He looks great! :D I can't wait to get my hands on him!
Godzilla is the only one that can stop the Mutos. After he destroys them, he'll go back to his normal rampage on humanity as always. :)
I like the muto. :) Very nice.
Really, based on all the clues we have so far, it seems most likely to me that there will be only two monsters other than Godzilla in the film: the "Mutos" (counting all of the eight-legged and winged Mutos as one, since they seem to be almost the same and will most likely act entirely together, meaning that they share most of their screentime) and the mysterious "ancient foe" that forces him to flee out of the ocean. This really wouldn't probably be very cluttered, since there would only be two monster-based subplots: the Mutos emerging from underground in the Nevada desert and wreaking havoc, and Godzilla emerging from the ocean (probably at San Francisco) and progressing further inland as he is chased by the third monster. I'm guessing that these subplots would converge with the military using flares to lead Godzilla to the Mutos (I doubt think we will ever see the military attack Godzilla, since, given certain events in the backstory, they'll already know there's no way they can harm him) and of course, wherever Godzilla goes, the other monster will follow.
I honestly think that this would be much better than having just the eight-legged and winged Mutos, mainly because I don't see how the inevitable climactic monster battle could be very much more exciting than the other fight scenes preceding it if it was just another fight between Godzilla and the Mutos, unless he only fights them once in the whole movie, which would probably be even more dissapointing.
Very funny teven.... very funny.....
Cute Godzilla costumes. :D
Errrrrrmmmmm.................................
I'm with Dr strange love, I think one formittable monster is way better than two ankle biters, if Lebron James gave my mom a facial (basketball term) I would certainly be unimpressed!
I love everything about his face and head in this one. This is probably my favorite depiction of Godzilla 2014 yet, possibly even my very favorite of all Godzilla forms. The proportions and mood are so perfect. I hope it looks this good in the movie (although realistic, obviously ^__^).
If this movie is good... then definitely one sequel, but probably not as high of a budget.
The whole toy feels incomplete without the sound effects :(
They could have at least removed the speaker holes and the battery pack. It makes me very angry! >:(
Speaker vents and a battery compartment but no speaker? Interesting. He could be right and it was taken out for cost purposes. Maybe they tested the toy on some youngins and the new Godzilla roar was too scary for them?
If the Asylum were to film a Godzilla rip off they would call it something like "Atomic Alligator" or some hilarious title like that.
If they make a Godzilla rip off then they better use rubber suits and miniature effects, it would really be a huge step from the crappy CGI they always use, Hell! Low budget practical effects would look even better and WAY more REALISTIC than the CGI they always use.
LOL, I love the Asylum, don't get me wrong, I don't mean to say that I support rip offs or the act of copying others' ideas, that's nasty by itself, but you've got to admit that these guys are hilarious xD
Monster, Transmorphers, H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds... Oh man! The nostalgia! :')
So long as they keep turning a healthy profit, they'll keep making movies.
That being said, there are some doubts that even this movie will make money, so we MIGHT just be looking at one :-(
As time goes by however, Godzilla looks increasingly likely to hold it's own at the box office. I had more fears in the past than I do now, so I do think this first movie will make a profit.
After this first movie makes money, they'll make a second, and with some confidence, and some profits, they'll have a pre-built audience, they'll be able to properly market a sequel, and give it a better release date, so that one will have better chances of making money than the original if it gets made.
A third movie is where I see it ending. They'll probably have done something silly to jump the shark at this point, and audiences will have some "Godzilla fatigue". Not us G-Fans, but G-Fans alone won't warrant a sequel.
Long story short, from Legendary, I EITHER see them making this one movie, or I see them making a trilogy. And that's it.
Now TOHO on the other hand, I could see them making 4/5 more movies, riding Legendary's popularity if this first one does well. They've given Godzilla a healthy break, and Japan provides a consistenly loyal audience for Godzilla. So if Legendary knocks it out of the park, I could see TOHO actually making more movies than Legendary for a longer period of time before giving it a rest.
But yeah.....some of that might happen. Maybe none of it will. It really 100% depends on how much money each film makes, which is impossible to predict.
Be silly and try out Muto Gabara and Muto Jet Jaguar!!!
No one can tell yet, not until the profits are counted for this film
I'm hoping a lot!
AWSOME cant wait to get my hands on that
I am from Mexico, and here back at 2011 was demostrated that Toho is pretty adamant with the rights over all Godzilla stuff. There was a music band called La Morocha (Brunette) which created a musical video with pretty low budget and sfx for fun, and such video included a take of an Imperial Godzilla moving through a city poster where Godzilla´s roar and the begining of G intro theme from King Kong vs Godzilla are heard. THe take was silly because the hand moving the figure was not hidden; but even with this they received a legal warning from Toho stating that they will proceed legally unless the band stop to promote the video to the public. THe vid still can be seen in youtube here:

A note about the case can be found here:
There were more notes back then, incluiding the copy of the letter of TOho, but I cannot find that material on the web today.
I agree that the movie will follow the cast more than Godzilla itself.
but almost a dozen monsters is too manyit takes away from Godzilla I don't want to see the LeBron James dunk over my elderly mother giving her a nice dunk face I want to see him go up against a Durant.if you just slapping around monsters that's no fun for anybody he needs a challenge
@GODZILLA HIMSELF
Nice job, that is just pure awesome.
Too many monsters would be at 11 or more. The reason I say this is because this is the first movie and it needs to show Godzilla and his power, not every freakin monster there will be in the series!
I agree with the story will follow the cast more then Godzilla. If there is going to be almost a dozen monster then that takes away from godzilla. i wouldn't want leabron james dunking on my elderly mother giving her a facial(basketball term). I want to see him go against Durant. If he's just slapping around some punk Mutos then whats cool about that. he needs a challenge.
if they would rip off the mighty gojira in this kind of way then yeah they definitly need to be sued i watched mega shark vs giant octopus and how lame can you get? i would have rather watched zilla over this crap.
new line cinema theather in kentucky yeah i live in redneck town XD
So much love for this! XD hahaha!
in my honest opinion no three is not too many destroy all monsters one of our all time favorites had 11 monsters total, final wars which some people dont like i personally do even though it is a bit cheesy but it had i think around 11-14 in it so i look foward to seeing these mutos fit in with the big g :)
happy 60th godzilla.
Why would it be too much? Two monsters sound great to me (three is okay too, but im more inclined to believe for there to be only two). It gives Godzilla a chance to show of his powers, and the fans have wanted to see a really good looking, well designed CGI Godzilla thrash some other monsters.
Also, i dont think you can really compare this to Pacific Rim (Not saying PR is bad, i love it), because of how different the story is. I have a feeling that there will be alot more Aaron and company than Godzilla and the MUTOs (MUTOs? MUTI? MUTWOS?).
guys that is for the official novelization i should know because the date on the book is also the date the book is released amazon has it available to pre order now if you all are looking for it :)
that is amazing so this is the muto that barely comes up to godzillas ankle huh? cant wait to see that in theathers :)
@ true american godzilla
either way it goes no one is safe lol :) look out theathers godzilla is coming.
This Godzilla is supposed to be a "force of nature". That can work with or against you. So it all depends on the situation.
how about a cross between muto and monster x? think you could do something like that?
