@Something Real- Jumping on may not have been the best wording for what I meant. Hm. At the moment I am not quite sure how proper wording could be applied to it. You might be able to find better wordage.
Either way it goes, thanks. No one deserves a snip here. We just need opinions that don't attack anyone.
something real-Well I just thought its a bit disappointing that he has to watch a fake godzilla to realize a real godzilla exists. But apologies if I came across a bit harsh.
@GodzillaTheKing- I used logic? Where?
@Something Real- Oh I love the deep end of things. I get to meet diverse people. Both pleasent, such as yourself, and not so pleasent.
Also, thank you for jumping on GodzillaTheKing for me. Couldn't think of anything to say. xD
Something Real:
I wasn't expecting agreement when I created this thread, so I enjoyed reading it, no matter the disagreement. After all, this can be a subjective issue.
I get the point Godzilla's Revenge was trying to make, standing up to bullies. But the way they executed the movie was ham-fisted. It just wasn't executed well in my opinion. I didn't need to involve Godzilla at all. It was like deception on the part of the producers. That's all I'm saying.
I respect your opinion, Devianteist, but your logic is faulty. You would not even know Godzilla without the '98 version? That's rather sad.
MUST... HAVE... THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a great frontal view too! That brow makes him look a little like Earl Sinclair. :)
Look it up, kids.
I think that is just different paint. There has not been an announcement or anything, and the red atomic ray picture is just an ad for the Special Effects Pack. It is the same design, just a differnt color paint or lighting.
@CoolGodzilla- While I respect your opinion, I ask this; why are you wasting your time and mine by posting a comment that does not acknowledge why this post is here?
Please, while not everyone likes the iguana, there are some of us that do, and some of us who wouldn't even know who Godzilla is if it weren't for the ugly, weak, horrible creature. I, for one, am one of the aforementioned people.
Dat hoodie, I WANT THAT HOODIE!
Zilla is the thing I have an unmatched hate for. It is really ugly, weak, and just horrible. I don't want to be rude, but I am getting kind of sick of all of the nonstop Zilla topics lately. There has been a massive uproar of repeat topics of Zilla getting unneeded hate everything.
@Something Real- Oh, I am quite aware of the possible comments this will probably garner. I've been around, snooping. I'm braced.
Thanks for the warning!!
The Heisei continuity, and Junior's story ended with Godzilla vs Destrotyah in 1995. The character has never returned officially, and the story of the heisei films has never continued. Godzilla: Final Wars simply used stock footage of Junior because it was a great visual to add to the begining of the film, which included footage from every Godzilla continuity. The Final Wars Godzilla is in his own continuity, and this is solidified by the fact that the prologue takes place in 1964, 40 years before the majority of the film's events. Acording to Heisei continuity, Godzilla vs Destoroyah takes place in 1996, 32 years after the Gotengo would have frozen Godzilla in the Arctic. Ergo, they are not the same Godzilla, and do not even belong in the same universe.
The Godzilla in the upcoming film will be a new Godzilla as well that does not represent a previous Godzilla returning from another film. He is a new version of the 1954 Godzilla transported to a modern day setting.
If you want to get into the realm of fan theories, than, even though it was never stated to be such, 1999's Godzilla 2000 COULD be a sequel to Godzilla vs Destoroyah. The time is right, and G2000 and Junior have several similarities, including a green color, a similar height and roar, and a seemingly non-aggressive attitude towards humans. Godzilla 2000 seems to float on its own in the Godzilla universe, and doesn not explicitly attach to any previous film or continuity, but I like to believe that the film depicts an older, further mutated Junior fighting one of his first great battles in defense of the Earth! :)
I think it deserves to be treated the way it is now, since we have a new film thats more respectful to the source material.
and to be very honest I never had such hatred on it as much as other fans did.
Darn you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you beat me to it, I was waiting for weeks to post a topic about the 20Million views!
ah well I'll probably post a topic about it when it reached 100'000 dislikes.
Toe cheese smells like the color sideways.
...
WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU SAYING?!?!?!?!
We will take on our multi-armed forms and become Death, destroyers of Gareth and G-Haters if we must.
^- This is what I would have said 4 years ago had I known about this website.
v- This is what I will say now.
Waiting is easy enough. Suspense, however, is too much. We know it's there. We know something immense (good or bad) is going to happen.
We just don't know which.
No, definitely not. Be a proud fan and don't be scared to tell others.
Get the original Gojira.
Thank you very much.. I will finish it for sure.. :)
looks a little like a crocodile and 85, he looks great! nice approch unlike...well you know :)
I want the hoodie too.
I love how they put Godzilla on everything.
No. You like what you like. Nothing to be embarrassed about. Stay true to who you are. Besides, I happen to think liking Godzilla is cool.
OMG THE HOODIE, HOODIE!
My favorites:
Gojira (1954) or Godzilla, King of the Monsters (1956)
Mothra Vs. Godzilla (1964)
Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla (2002)
Godzilla Vs. MechaGodzilla II (1993)
GMK (2001) - for how Godzilla is portrayed; probably the most evil version.
Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1965) - the series took a turn for the worse with this movie, but had it been played seriously, would have been my second or third favorite ever.
Hope this helps!
Yeah, plus there's the fact that the one in Final Wars was around for 40 years, encased in ice, soooo....
