GMK. It changes godzilla into the souls of angry people but that's not the problem the problem is the reason why they're mad. Are they mad that japan is responsible for their deaths? God no that'd be a legit reason. No their reason is that Japan is forgetting about them. I'll say it again FORGETTING ABOUT THEM so they possess a giant monster and destroy their homes and families. That's the equivalent of my grandmother possessing a tornado and destroying my neighborhood because I don't think about her being dead enough. Then there's the attempt at arguing rocks can hold memories and comparing them to cds. The guardian monster are all weak 1 sided fights, not for 1 second did you think they had a chance against Godzilla with the biggest wound coming to his shoulder. Then Godzilla blows himself up. That's how he goes. Could have piloted the sub to his heart, or brain, but no poke a hole in his shoulder and he's done, because he will shoot his beam through his shoulder see it's going throug his shoulder, and then stop and do it again.
Most overrated monster is probably mothra. She's a good monster, but the amount of times she's used it just a recycled story. At least everytime Ghidorah shows up it's something new, mothra amost always centers around 1. the fairies getting stolen and 2. an older mothra dying and the younger one continuing the fight.
I dont like april fools to be honest..you can call me not being fun at party, and maybe you're right..
Link?
Or it this an April Fools prank. If it is, it would be funnier with a video.
I thought you were calling Godzilla overrated. Boy, if I didn't read past the title, we'd be argueing right now.
The most overrated Godzilla film is Godzilla vs Destroyah. I know I'm also going to get hate for this but, to me this is an oradinary Godzilla film with Godzilla Heisei dying, nothing much and I waited to see Destroyah in his final form for most of the movie since I played the Godzilla game: "Godzilla: Save the Earth". beforehand. The most overrated Godzilla monster is Biollante. I haven't seen Godzilla vs Biollante yet. But to me, it's fat, orange-bellied, plant!
Edit: Stratch that. Mothra's the most overrated monster of all time! It's just a giant moth!
Very nice.
:(
Happy April Fools.
Damn it it's restricted to the USA only!
I'm not 18 years or older but, thank the lord for moms!
Am I the only one who gets better eyesight from 3D?
Somthing Real- I agree. He's excited, just like the rest of us, and just can't contain that excitement.
Keep the cruise going Godzilla 2014 Rules. You're a refresher that we all need to be a little more light-hearted.
Going off of what Somthing Real said, I would have to agree that they may mature at a slow rate, however, I believe that the MUTOs in this movie are relativly young.
These are the newest generation of MUTO, which were found, captured and experimented on. Alone remains a hateful, bloody instinct that Godzilla alone is their greatest enemy. Their rival species.
IMAX 3D ONLY!!!!!
This is only a contest for USA residents.
Balls :(
Courtesy of SKREOOONK1789; here is Matt Frank's own description of that footage as posted on his Deviant Art page:
- "Those following me on Facebook are well aware that I, along with a little over 100 SXSW attendees, were treated to an extended clip from the 2014 movie by Mr. Edwards himself! Man oh man oh shevitz, THAT was a thing, lemme’ tell ya. Again, it has been recounted in many other places the play-by-play of exactly what went down, but it is impossible to convey the raw awesomeness in words alone. I daresay this flick is gonna’ be a crowd-pleaser. That said, I’ll just run through the highlights of what I saw.
- Aaron Taylor Johnson is escorting a little Japanese boy that I think he’s just keeping an eye on during this segment of the film. Not sure what the story is there, but they’re on a monorail when the power goes out.
- SOMETHING’S going on out in the Hawaiian jungle, and it starts a fire that catches the attention of attendees at a luau. Suddenly, a little girl notices the water from the shore receding…and people start running, because, y’know, tsunami….OR SOMETHING WORSE.
- Ken Watanabe, on the deck of a battleship, spots something offshore. Through his binoculars, he spots one….two…THREE spines jutting from the water. A comparison to G’98’s fishing dock scene would not be unwarranted, but this is bigger and substantially more terrifying.
- As in the trailer, Godzilla passes underneath the boats - this scene had the most animatics, as it was an work-in-progress.
- A dog on the beach starts barking at the oncoming waves, then thinks better if it and bolts. He joins a crowd of people running their asses off from the oncoming waves. Imagery reminiscent of the Fukishima tsunami from 2011 is featured, as people on the rooftops look down at the mass of debris and water filling the streets.
- Then, Godzilla looms through the city. Unlike in G’98, where his body is hidden by buildings for the first act, his size is emphasized by being SO BIG that the camera simply can’t contain him. It’s all from a very human perspective, so even the audience feels like ANTS.
- Surprisingly, the armed military personnel on-hand over the rooftops unload on Godzilla with high-powered assault rifles…right over the civilians’ heads. But when it becomes apparent that Godzilla doesn’t even NOTICE them, they just stop shooting and stare in helplessness.
- At the airport, the lights come back on, as Johnson had assured the child they would, but through the interior shot of the monorail, we see something positively GHASTLY poking about the airfield. This is the Winged M.U.T.O., and it moves about like a giant mosquito, lights dancing around its body (bio-luminescent?). It sees the monorail coming, and even the audience reacts as though they’re inside the monorail. It bites the car in half, and Johnson barely saves the boy.
- Military choppers begin firing at the monster, but it doesn’t seem to do much good. Suddenly, a massive fin rolls into the POV of the chopper, and clips it, sending the vehicle plummeting to earth.
- The famous shot of the airplanes exploding in a domino effect plays out, but goes on just long enough for Godzilla’s MASSIVE FEET to come into view. They are huge, armored, and blot out the light from the explosions.
- The M.U.T.O. turns and notices Godzilla. It flares its wings and bares its mandibles, shrieking and recoiling like a cat that’s been cornered.
- The big money shot is right here. The scene cuts to a shot of Godzilla’s feet and lower body, from the front, then pans up to fully reveal the Monster King. He splays his arms and angles his head low, belting out a TERRIFYING roar! It is an image that unmistakably says “I AM HERE TO END YOU.” Take from that what you will."
Now I know we've all probably read descriptions of this footage in some form by now. But MF's is the one that has really given me chills :)
Just over a month to go....HOLY F***!!!
Because your threads are a pointless waist of time
Wow....godzilla may be real....I think ill ill buy the survival pack....
That's really scary....
There is nothing confirmed about a sequel at all. Everything that Gareth said are things he would like to explore, but they are not actually part of anything because a sequel is not yet in the works. They're going to wait until this film has made its first impression before they even think about making a sequel.
If they do make a sequel, it's going to be interesting to see what they actually go with. But as for the things you said, let me clarify a few things for you:
"1. its going to have a monster island setting to it (so monster island exists?)"
Again, this is somethign Gareth said he'd like to explore. That doesn't mean it's actually going to be in it.
"2.its going to have a destroy all monsters theme to it (so theres gonna be lotsa monsters in the sequel?)"
This is a misinterpretation of information, and no, Gareth never said anything about the Destroy All Monsters theme or storyline. Gareth said he wanted to explore the Monster Island concept from DAM, he didn't say anything about the movie's own plot or story in any way. Everyone who said he wanted to do a Destory All Monsters sequel misquoted him and misinterpreted his exact words.
"3. hedorah will return but this time he's born from a nuclear power plant incident (hedorah, really?)"
This is completely false and would never happen even with Banno's involvement if he returns to be an Executive Producer on a sequel if one comes around.
"4.theres gonna be another monster called mitodah an "earth saving monster" (no comment)"
This is also completely false and was only ever a rumor.
Gareth Edwards has admitted that his favorite Godzilla movie is Destory All Monsters, not Godzilla vs. Hedorah, just as one final correction.
Anyway, it's nice to see you involved and trying to help flesh things out. But right now the sequel is not even on the table yet. Gareth himself has said that he's waiting to see how the film does before a sequel even becomes an option. If it does, then we have a lot to look forward to and a lot to speculate on.
Right now, a sequel could have anything. Is it going to have a Monster Island in it? Maybe, if Gareth sticks to his previous desire to explore the option. Will it have more monsters? If the reception of the Muto's and Godzilla himself is high enough, then most likely. Will it have Hedorah? Absolutely not. Banno said he's working on putting together a Godzilla vs. Hedorah 2 movie, but it will have no link to Godzilla 2014 here in America.
@ JUNKERDE - You sound as if you're trying to say you know exactly that your presented scenario is how it will go down. It's not too far fetched, but nothing about Godzilla's name has been confirmed so we can't be sure whether or not the fact that the first incident takes place in Janjira is going to contribute to his name yet. Is it possible? Yes, but not confirmed. Please don't try and make it sound as if you know it is confirmed or not, because you'll confuse a lot of people which can do more harm than good in the long run.
Anyway, regarding his name, it's anyone's guess at the moment. Again, what JUNKERDE said is possible, but not likely. That scenario is no less cheesy than those mentioned before JUNKERDE's own. Honestly, even if his name is never actually spoken or revealed, I'll be happy regardless. I don't need to hear his name to be excited about his appearances in the film, nor do I need it for much of anything really. I see his picture, I know exactly who it is and what to expect.
You can call Godzilla "Lucy" and he'll still register in your mind as Godzilla. So to me, how his name is found or spoken doesn't matter so much as enjoying when he's onscreen.
Epic man. If you put light and sound, you'd be dope
The survival of these creatures could be due to almost any number of things. Honeslty though, since I'm not a scientist, I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the most logical reasons. Suspended animation is one idea, but it alone cannot carry the day. There has to be something more to it, but what could those reasons be that they'd escape our advances in technology so thoroughly as to remain hidden until now?
I'll be waiting for the explanation in the movie, but right now, I'm stumped.
Saying scientists are 'conflicted' about this would be no more accurate that saying scientists are 'conflicted' about gravity.
You can always find a couple scientists to believe something weird, but that hardly constitutes an actual schism in the field.
By and large though, the bloop is pretty much believed to be an icequake.
One of the first problems with this theory is that this isn't Godzilla 1954. This is its own film with its own lore and history. You cannot compare or link two films that do not have any direct connection. To do so is a folly and nullifies any logic or evidence you present.
As far as the gills, it's understandable why he has them. To breath underwater, he HAS to have them. No creature on earth has ever truly breathed underwater without the use of some form of internal or external gills. Anyone who says otherwise knows absolutely nothing about the laws of nature.
It's nice to see you enthusiastic about trying to figure this out BIGBADBEN, but you cannot make these kinds of connections between two films that have no direct link such as these.
Yeah scientists are conflicted with each other about the whole thing
yeah, but weren't there a couple scientists saying that the sound was too loud and big to be an icequake?
The vast majority of legitimate scientists acknowledge that 'The Bloop' was a real sound.
They also pretty much agree that it was an underwater icequake or some other geological event, not an animal sound.
And even the few quacks who still believe it is an animal noise, even those believe it is from an unknown animal that is simply more efficient at making sound, not necessarily something really big.
Old news:
MATT FRANK HAS SEEN A CLIP FROM GODZILLA (2014)! PLUS AUDIENCE PHOTO!
I appreciate your enthusiasm to keep everyone updated, but I gotta close this topic. No hard feelings. :)
My plan is to see it in IMAX 3D. I've NEVER seen a movie in IMAX 3D, though, so you probably shouldn't really listen to me. XD
Pfft. TOTALLY fell for it. XD
Happy April Fools!
I'm gonna try to see all three, even though I'm not a HUGE fan of 3D. I don't dislike it, but it works better for some movies than others. Avatar was breathtaking in 3D IMAX, but Clash of the Titans was lackluster... but that wasn't just the 3D's fault. I missed Pacific Rim in 3D AND IMAX, which will haunt me for the rest of my life. I will NOT miss seeing Godzilla in either format, in addition to the standard release! I'd say aim for IMAX for sure, but I bet the 3D for this film will be awesome, so if you can see both, do it! Its not every day that a new Godzilla movie comes out, especially in theaters in the US!!!! :)
3D IMAX first, without a DOUBT! Then experience it the other ways if you want.
Seriously, man. You've created seven topics in the last 48 hours, the majority of them either presenting topics that are embaressingly inacurate or ideas that have little relevance or potential for discussion. Its hard enough to figure out what you are saying half the time with your seeming inability to form a punctually sound sentence, but that's beside the point.
I see no need to discuss banning or get nasty, but I erge you to be more selective in your topic choices and frequency. Just my suggestion. :)
