It looks more like something from a flashback or backstory visual. (Maybe what he did after he first arrived on earth. Hmm?)
It looks like he is roaring in victory after perhaps beating Rodan or Mothra down, but i'm not sure
I agree with you on the NECA Rodan and Monsterarts Ghidorah, as well as NECA Godzilla v2.
I never liked the plates on the 2014 design. Didn't look enough like Godzilla's spines.
I prefer the 2014 figure (plate's shape).
But its plates could been a bit bigger (like 2019).
Hey as long as you have enough thrust and surface area to provide lift, "looking" like it's aerodynamic isn't necessary !
Visual perspective can confuse people. Everyone see's things from different angles and gets a different perspective. That's all this is in this very cool poster that is making me drool.
TOHO should not end this franchise with WB/Legendary... it's going to make a lot of money and in my opinion... this film will be regarded as one of the all time greatest renderings in movie history of TOHO's best and most classic kaiju. I think Japanese fans will fall in love with this and demand more.
I think that clip is a fan made one.
I am assuming that big G vs Ghidorah shots are taking place...in Boston or Washington D.C?
One problem I noticed... The Dorsal plates on Godzilla look glued on for some reason. Is it the angle? I can't tell.
Love the 54 dorsal plates!
That's a weird shot of King Ghidorah in the city. I'm trying to figure out what is going on there. My Dragon better be ok. Godzilla looks sweet tho. The Kings better freaking break those buildings on screen. Please don't give us an aftermath film. Thank you for bringing Godzilla back Legendary/ Warner Bros. No matter what it will be good to see my Kaiju Gods return. I just love them and want them all to reign supreme.
Here are some of the same images without the logo, though, cropped differently. Interesting the image of Godzilla is a little wider.

KingKaijuGojira I agree, though these stills are my new wallpapers, the total film logos sorta get in the way
MDK 2 (MinecraftDinoKaiju) you took the words right out of my mouth in both comments. Though, I would like those Total Film logos removed.
I forgot to leave this in my previous comment: These stills look awesome! :) #ScreenSaver
Me to Gmkgoji:

G. H. (Gman) You're worried about Godzilla's angle? King Ghidorah looks like he got shrunk down to Godzilla's size, or close to it. (And no, I know he's supposed to be far away, but even if it was that, he still looks smaller than what was shown to us.) It's so weird.
I absolutely LOVE that shot of Godzilla and Ghidorah fighting
Ghidorah is so awesome. I love Godzilla but they managed to make a Ghidorah that will be timeless and forever remembered as one of the best... in my opinion. I will see this movie twice on the same day ! The story arc to me is fascinating.
Nasty Kaiju. I'd love to see it in action.
I cannot wait to see this film. I'm so happy with what I've been hearing. They have done the monsters justice.
Solid write up with lots of fascinating information. Some highlights to me:
"When you think about it, Toho started building these cinematic universes back in the 1960s and '70s. Really, the '50s, if you want to go back further."
To be fair, Universal did it first, but I don't mind the filmmakers getting caught up in the excitment of hyping the Showa series' cinematic universe.
"At the heard of the film is this relationship between a mother and daughter. It might be one of the first Godzilla movies to pass the Bechdel Test, from that perspective."
I'm glad the core of the film has that kind of grounded nature and I know Farmiga is talking about the Bechdel Test from that "perspective", but other movies to hit that bar: Mothra vs. Godzilla, Ghidorah: The Three Headed Monster, Godzilla vs. Gigan, Godzilla vs. Biollante, Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, Godzilla 2000, Godzilla x Megaguirus, Godzilla x MechaGodzilla, Godzilla: Final Wars... those are just off the top of my head.
"The tricky thing with intertwining a human story with a Godzilla movie is that you don't have as much real estate with the human story. At least a third of your film, if not more, needs to be devoted to giant creatures beating the shit out of each other!"
Jesting aside, I surely hope those ends any concerns we'll see plenty of monster action.
"I didn't see men in rubber suits. I saw ancient, powerful, mythic creatures. To me, these creatures were intelligent beings fighting out old grudges. They were the equivalent of dragons and giants, and all the creatures you read about in mythology and the Bible."
Dougherty's absolute reverence for the series is wonderful. He's probably the most fanboy heavy director the series has had since Tezuka. Good or bad, this movie will certainly have enthusiasm for the material.
"...[For the music score] we brought in Taiko drummers from Japan. We brought in Japanese priests to chant. Even the lyrics in some of the chanting have significance."
Getting Shin Godzilla vibes from the chanting comments. Love it. The score is something I'm looking forward to the most.
"Batman's got the Batcave. Superman's got the Fortress of Solitude. So it seemed to make sense Godzilla would have somewhere to go ... I love the idea that he returns to a place that, in some ways, was built for him by some previous human civilisation..."
This is equal parts reverent & goofy which is perfect for the Godzilla franchise. I'm so excited this idea was implemented. Looking forward to seeing the G-Cave! Now if we can just get him a G-mobile.
I may have to pick this up for collection reasons.
They need to build it up that way, but definitely would have more of an effect, had they refrained from confirming Godzilla vs. Kong until after KoTM. But most of the public won't know, so I'm sure it will still seem like the finale to most.
Man, I am PUMPED!
Although, this does make the film look more like the ultimate finale rather than the second act of the Monsterverse.
So the most interesting things I learnt from the article:
1. Godzilla's lair. Dougherty mentioned where does he go after each movie as he heads back out to the ocean. His lair...made by humans in prehistoric times. Interesting indeed. So that is presumably what Dr. Serizawa was at climbing those steps and face-to-face with the big G in that
"temple".
2. Komodo Dragons (which are actually monitor lizards found in Indonesia-the largest lizard in the world) influenced Godzilla here. Fascinating. The thing to note about komodo dragons is that often times they appear to be slow lumbering beasts...but can go into a rapid sprint to chase down prey in the flash of an eye. That might be hinting at Godzilla "sprinting". And Cobras influencing Ghdiorah. Cobra scales was the model for Ghdiorah's scales and also the way it moves. Is Ghidorah going to "slither" about?
HOLY HOLY WHAT WHATT HOLY WHAT
At this point, the hype is just going to murder me.
I NEED THIS MOVIE SO FUCKING BADLY!!!!
Godzilla
If not including Godzilla, King Ghidorah
