Xenotaris and HinikunaGoji I once drowned a topic in JW forums, you guys probably remember that topic right?
monsterzero9 Is there something wrong with him? Is it because of his reply? :o OK never mind I saw the topics, I get why you hate him this much. I am also like this when I was new so maybe try talking with him first.
Me Feeling good about writing a poorly written article as soon as this dropped, only to find I was too late by the time I finished.
Also I love this short
I want to know more, hopefully the goji design will be unveiled
Unhelpful factoid: If you live in The USA and are wondering why this info is coming out on Nov 2 instead of Nov 3, its Nov 3 in Japan
YYYEEEESSSSS!!!! hope this film brings back some classic kaiju & a cool new unique Godzilla design.
HinikunaGoji
It's fine, I have trouble translating my thoughts into words some times.
Oh, then I misunderstood you.
Oh I hope I wasn't drowning topics either, I mean I do write a lot of fanfictions on here
its not hinkuna whos drowning the topic, its that new god_zilla fellow. hes exactly what I mean by the ¨new¨ godzilla fan.
Of course, but Toho fans shouldn't be crying saying that the Monsterverse fanbase are terrible because they also have gatekeeper beliefs.
Me I like both Toho and Monsterverse, hell I even liked Tristar's Godzilla when I was a kid.
True, I would have just done them differently I suppose
Well toho goji fans have been around longer, so gatekeepers have beeen around longer bc toho was before MV.
Im not sure thats a fair argument
Well to be fair 14’ was always going to be the most original of Godzilla in MV, KoTM and GvK are sequels
Yes, maple-leaf spines are cool but at the same time robbed Monsterverse Godzilla of its unique identity. King of the Monsters threw in some old Godzilla roars which I felt was unnecessary since Monsterverse' roar was already made for this incarnation.
One of my beefs with King of the Monsters was it was a huge fanservice movie, it reused scenes from other Godzilla movies. Godzilla 2014 I felt was the most original american godzilla movie in the series besides Godzilla 1998.
Sorry if i crossed any lines here, I grew up watching Godzilla Power Hour, Godzilla vs The Astro Monster aka Godzilla vs Monster Zero, and Godzilla 1998. I was a huge fan of 98 since Zilla looked closer to a Jurassic Park dinosaur. I was attacked for liking Godzilla 1998 back then.
The point is, Toho Godzilla fans had that gatekeeper stick long before the Monsterverse ever had one, so If there are any Monsterverse gatekeepers out there, I say its karma.
Megalon could be interesting, I'm mean sure he is another bug kaiju but he was a cybernetic bug kaiju
Good to hear, having more faithful spines to the older films is a nice touch.
Wait was Megalon in GvK? I don’t remember that.
Also GvMegalon aside Megalon is one of my favorite kaiju
We are conflating the issue, instead of seeing it as it is which is usually A minority.
Im also probably Out of touch bc usually Idc what other fans do.
And I apologize for burying topics. I defenitely have been doing so
I like both
those are fair points, but to be honest, I think that’s a much smaller group of people than it seems.
There are plenty of new projects and new fans who still respect the older films as valid godzilla content, (think the many Godzilla games that people make on roblox) I just worry that
I did that mostly for conciseness. But yeah I grew for the most part for GvK, I was going more for the intent than what could be interpreted, because both GvK and SP were explicitly meant only for entertainment.
Also I just don’t like GvK that much. So if I treat it unfairly in the theme department, you know why
I like the 2014 spines since it gave that Godzilla a unique identity compared to the other godzilla's of their respective eras
Huh, usually I found Toho Godzilla fans were the elitists, I have yet to find a Monsterverse elitist.
Imagine highlighting these problems a year ago only to be lambasted and now everyone is on the same page.
Even then though, I'm less concerned about people liking what they like (if you're just a Monsterverse fan, then okay) and more concerned about the blatant disrespect and erasure for why some of these newer flicks exist at all. There's a mindset that people consider the first 32 or so films as "practice" (literally what someone once said) and the real series hasn't started until recently.
Let's forget I've found the last two Monsterverse disasters insufferable to sit through. There seems to be a prevailing idea that it's the series proper over anything else and that is unfortunate given the amount of diversity, experimentation and width that the series has pushed before 2014. Especially since the newer flicks are as bland as most MCU and Hollywood tent poles released lately.
I'm just glad Godzilla Day doesn't really push anything Monsterverse or Tristar related, so I don't have to endure it on his birthday.
And yeah, a part of me did just post this because monsterzero9 feels his topic is being buried and it's honestly one of the braver discussions he's tossed in the ring.
completely neglecting all other godzilla films outside of the monsterverse?
wow that sure was a shameless plug
Is this....
spam posting?
that is the most ridiculous question ever.
yes
Yeah, if Mechagodzilla wasn't built, Godzilla wouldn't have shown any aggression towards humanity and Apex wouldn't have taken Kong off of Skull Island to use him as a guide to get to the Hollow Earth energy source, which means that Godzilla and Kong wouldn't have crossed paths. So technically the events of GvK wouldn't have happened without Mechagodzilla.
So in other words had humans not messed with nature, the whole plot of Godzilla vs Kong could have been avoid. Those dumb humans but it goes to show that History shows again and gain how Nature points out the folly of man.
well Ghouls might look like zombies but they aren't undead. They are just irradiated humans that merely look like zombies or a burnt person. Cold blooded animals handle radiation differently in the Fallout universe, they grow in size while mammals lose their fur/hair.
Godzilla 2014 and Shin Godzilla did contain some themes of humanity's recklessness with nuclear energy.
In 2014, the MUTOs were uncovered by an attempt to mine for uranium, which resulted The Male MUTO awakening and attacking the Janjira power plant in order to feed on the energy from the reactors. The government then carelessly stored the Female MUTO's spore in an area with large amounts of nuclear weapons and waste, allowing the Female to feed off of it and grow. The Military shows even more carelessness with nuclear weapons by attempting to use nuclear warheads in an attempt to kill Godzilla and the MUTOs (despite Serizawa's warnings), which ends up backfiring and making the situation worse.
Shin Godzilla had less connection to the nuclear narrative, but still contained some of it, with the fact that Godzilla was created after barrels of nuclear waste were dumped in the ocean, with Godzilla being mutated after feeding on it.
Also, I wouldn't say that GvK and Singular Point were completely devoid of any themes.
GvK had some themes dealing with technology and man's hubris (specifically with the Mechagodzilla plot), with humanity attempting to harness a power beyond their control as a way of "over throwing the gods" (in this case Godzilla and the other Titans) in order to remain as the "apex species", which not only summons Godzilla's wrath, but ends up backfiring, resulting in Mechagodzilla's rampage and the downfall of Apex Cybernetics. Godzilla and Kong's conflict was pretty much started by Apex building Mechagodzilla, with them taking Kong off of Skull Island in order to use him to find the Hollow Earth energy source, which caused Kong to cross paths with Godzilla (who's attempt to destroy Apex ended up leading him to Kong).
And Singular Point had a bunch of physics and math lectures that it continued to beat the audience over the head with.
But gievn ghouls can be mutated animals and humans I would say goji could be one
Ypu guys are both great!! I love the artwork
So could godzilla be called a zombie mutant, Idk much about fallout but Im guessing
