Just imagine the kaiju playing Monopoly or something...
also rodan has two head oh no this is b a d
I think it looks pretty good!
and evidently so did someone else because it kinda looks like someone bit a chunk out of his back
it's still cool looking though
G. H. (Gman) Agreed, I always find something to appreciate within every movie in the series. I don't see any of the worst films in the series as any sort of irredeemable atrocities. There is always something to like, even with films like Godzilla vs. Mothra, Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla, Godzilla (1998), etc.
It's cool but I'm still scared of it

This is unbeatable! Is there a color version of Kongzilla?
I didn't want to look but am glad I did. This looks really good!
The debate rages on over the Megagurius continuity. Some Toho sources include G'54--If only as an alternate version of the events.
XarKhaan,
What issues? It's not like he's going to leap off the edge. And even if he tripped, Godzilla survived atmospheric re-entry in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. And if he can't get back up (which is unlikely, because this is a composite Godzilla and he would be able fly) the composite powers include atomic breath that can not only exit the atmosphere, but take down whole ships and asteroids.
The only thing having trouble is Coruscant.
keep in mind Coruscant is all one Huge city and its buildings are Many kilometers tall its a loooong way down to solid ground so unless big G is even bigger than Godzilla Earth hes guna have some issues.
I love that movie
I would have to say Composite Godzilla (if we take into account for Shin Godzilla's ability to metamorph at will [I refuse to call it evolving because Shin Godzilla defies the basic laws/rules of Evolution]) would dominate Coruscant
It looks like what the Mbwun should have looked like in The Relic movie adaptation
Technically, the design in the 1998 movie and its animated counterpart is Godzilla. The design used at any point after 2004 is Zilla. The rebranding was not retroactive.
@KaijuWorld
I still consider Zilla, a type of Godzilla
Shin Godzilla and Godzilla vs King Ghidorah
I remember enjoying Godzilla vs. Destroyah the last time I saw that film, and I've never gotten the chance to see Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla 2, but I do agree with the other two on this list. I think I was really let down by Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah due to amount of praise it got from a lot of people. I'm sure that fans of this movie find a certain level of charm encompassed in its overly cheesy aspects, but it doesn't fully embrace those potential tongue-in-cheek qualities enough for me to find enjoyment in it. As for KotM, I have progressively become more and more opposed by that film with each subsequent viewing. It just doesn't do it for me, whether it's the poorly written characters, underdeveloped narrative, or even the tediously directed action sequences.
Xenotaris I feel bad for that movie with the hate it's gotten. Do I feel it's justified? in most cases, yes, but at the same time it's a fine monster movie on its own, it's just a very good representation of Godzilla. I think the animated series especially showed that this version of Godzilla can work with the right people behind it. I still call the character Zilla though, I prefer him (or her?) as its own monster.
Very interesting list. I personally think the Anime trilogy is "Alright" I don't love it but I don't hate it either. My problem with it lies more in the idea that there was so much potential but nothing was done with it.
If you look at the tie-in books that came out alongside the movies, it shows what this trilogy could have been with an incredibly large collection of classic very unused monsters in a new unified timeline. Fortunately, that's what Singular Point seems to be going for.
But before I go, I just wanna quickly throw in my own unpopular opinion. I REALLY liked the Anime trilogy version of Ghidorah.
For all of it's faults, plot holes and boring second act, I actually really enjoy Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah.
And while I don't particularly "hate" any of these movies, I fully support Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah and Godzilla: King of the Monsters swirling somewhere around the bottom of the toilet bowl. I very much consider them in the bottom third of Godzilla films.
Overall I agree with this list.
Rex Xeno,
And that's the gimmick. At some level I can enjoy and sit through all of them finding something to appreciate. It's how we know we're giant monster fanboys.
The only two I find it difficult to enjoy at any point is Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla and the 1998 debacle.
I honestly have some appreciation to all of them. I quite like Hedorah and have nostalgia for Gigan especially.
I WANT TO DIE......
Same. I actually really like that movie, more as a monster movie than a Godzilla one though.
I like Godzilla 1998, yeah what of it.
I actually quite like All Monsters Attack these days. I've defended it as one of the most unique and well told Godzilla stories in the series.
Godzilla vs. Hedorah and the anime trilogy sit in an interesting spot with me. They continue to be in this limbo where I can't decide if they're good or bad, but without fail they're very interesting pieces that skirt into ideas and visuals the rest of the series do not include. At bare minimum I think they need to be commended for that--So perhaps it doesn't matter if I can't decide if they're good or not. That's a fairly narrow way of looking at film anyway.
Godzilla vs. Gigan has a pretty solid following, I think. It was my first Godzilla film although I don't have much nostalgia for it. It's a fairly vanilla movie compared to the others on your list. While I think the characters carry the movie for the first couple of acts it becomes a bore once the monsters show up to fight.
I don't mind Vs Gigan, that's actually a big reason why I like Showa Gigan so much.
It's so weird... It's so uncomfortable... It just doesn't blend...
I LOVE IT!!
g i v e m e t h e g i g a n o n e
You know what?
I want this when it comes out
So I can freak out my family XD
Damn, that thing is freaky!
I fear no man...but that THING....
it scares me...
Ok but for real this is super cursed
LMAO!
Kingzilla or Godkong or Godking or Kongzilla?
Or better yet, those 2 Titans should team up to destroy all evil.
I think Kong should lose, and Godzilla will defeat him.
I miss this series so much; I'm watching it now because of nostalgia.
I wish they'd release these sooner. At least it would be "something" to keep interest up. That said, even though the first G graphic novel didn't have the best artwork, I've loved all of these and look hopefully forward to more.
How come that almost looks cute to me
i have weird standards for 'scary' things i guess
Man I can't wait for this. Absolutely stoked to see what Anno and Higuchi bring to Ultraman.
he's gotta snek mouth
