well I'm interested to see if there are going to be original kaiju or monsterverse reinterpretation of Toho kaiju
Thanks!
I'm probably going to start tomorrow, and probably put out Part 1 on Friday.
Part 2 I'll start on 3/8 or 9 but I hope to finish that by 3/12.
But in the meantime....
What part of this fanfic are you most hyped about?
anime Ghidorah is pretty cool, the concept where it can summon black holes and stick its head through them to attack Godzilla was a neat concept
It has a full body
okay I understand know gman. Also (wow im saying also a lot) theres a suprising ammount of the trendmasters toys that never got made like kumonga or the godzilla the eries line, heck there was sopposed to be a destroyah. imagine what THAT woold look like.
I mean, I thought anime space noodle looked cool
I like that, it would fit into the Showa, if they did it
Showa Mecha King Ghidorah

I typed that before I saw that, hence the second comment
Yeah, kinda glad that I got into this little debate. Otherwise it would've gotten boring.
SarcasticGoji,
I already explained. Items in the box have more value and are worth more. Should I ever want to sell them, they would be worth more in-the-box than out.
These are rare items now since the toy company no longer exists.
Metphies and the Exif were the most interesting characters.
Wow, I try saying something, and people have replied twice before I can say it
Maybe, he likes them better in the box and gives more nogstalgia, or maybe they won’t be tarnished in the box. The point is, he wants them in the box
also, at times you wonder if there was a planned animated show or heck, a live action show for the power ra..I II mean g-force. imagine if they spliced american footage with heisei godzilla footage, that would be NUTS.
monsterzero9,
Items in the box are worth more.
See? changing topic is a good thing for discussions
what may I ask does that mean?
sonictiger,
Not saying they don't, but you have to remember that film is still a business. They want to make a "product" that satisfies, but it won't make a difference if it doesn't make money.
But remember, after the reception of the god-awful Whedon-directed JL, WB totally changed their DC slate. They were also scared of critical reception.
Another example is, after the divisive response to Star Wars: The Last Jedi (which made over a billion dollars) Disney frantically tried to change The Rise Of Skywalker, which was almost ready to film. They fired Colin Trevorrow and brought back J.J Abrams, who wrote a completely new story and fans and critics were yet again divided.
Studios do care about what people think of their movies, regardless of how much money they make.
SarcasticGoji,
I'd rather not. They have more value in the box.
sonictiger,
But that's not entirely true. WB suggested Snyder just release his cut unfinished to appease fans, because they didn't want to put any money into it. But Snyder rejected that idea and isn't even being paid for his cut of the movie, because he didn't want WB to tell him what to do.
Furthermore, HBOMax funded the completion of the Snyder Cut, not WB. It's been insinuated by Snyder that WB doesn't want anything to do with it, because they don't want to admit they were wrong about changing it. Furthermore, Snyder said WB has not been advertising it very well--Likely for this reason.
So no, WB does not care so much how people respond. Just like every studio, they care about money because money is what keeps the lights on and pays them.
The only reason Godzilla vs. Kong even got made after Godzilla: King of the Monsters flopped at the box office was because it was already in production. Rest assured, Godzilla vs. Kong probably would not have been made had it not already been filming when Godzilla: King of the Monsters came out. We got lucky.
That this movie will be epic
I keep seeing the slot game pop up in every repeat article. I don’t know about you but I think gambling is not smart. I just seems that the slot game is just is not actually about Godzilla but is just usuing it to draw in more players to trick into spending money. So I would stay away from that one, it’s not actually Godzilla
What do ya think of these though?
I miss 90's toys
Ngl though those images look awesome.
@Gman,
You should take some of them out of the box, if you want to display them differently.
WB is honestly more worried about how people respond to their movies. Remember, they lost faith in Zack Snyder after people HATED Batman V. Superman. It had to take a whole fan campaign to get his Justice League to HBO Max.
They also need to be more successful in order to convince the studio a 3 hour movie could make enough money. Right now, they just don't make as much as Marvel. Not even close.
Frankly, I think this will be the last Monsterverse flick anyway. Which is fine.
If they do make a 3-hour MonsterVerse movie, it won't be for a while since a DAM movie would need about 5-7 years of buildup.
sonictiger,
No it just makes completely new mistakes...
The thing is every movie has a mandate forced on it. Studios tell directors to whittle down the run times of almost every single movie that's released. This is normal and it's part of the business. I guarantee you there's not a movie you've seen where producers haven't ordered directors and editors to cut the runtime down. Even Godzilla: King of the Monsters was originally over 3 hours. There was no way the studio was going to ever allow that.
It's especially true of less powerful directors. Big directors like Christopher Nolan or James Cameron can get away with longer movies because they have more power and money.
Adam Wingard, however, is a small director. He's only done a few low budget movies before Godzilla vs. Kong and isn't very well known. So it's likely any creative decision he's made has been the will of a producer.
