Mecha G easily.
Gipsy isn't more durable at all. Mecha G could take Godzilla running and slamming into him without any damage while gipsy's frame takes damage from hits with much less mass and power behind them. Gipsy isn't bulkier we could see how thin and hollow his armor plating is during a deployment scene. Mecha G was also still operational after losing all of its limbs and tried shooting Kong.
Kong's axe couldn't scratch Mecha before it was charged with atomic breath even though Kong was hitting hard enough to push around Mecha. Gipsy's sword wouldn't even scratch Mecha here. Proton scream would instantly shred Gipsy considering it overpowered the atomic breath and burned even Godzilla.
So basically Mecha Godzilla is faster, more agile, larger, stronger, more durable and has much stronger weapons.
Since it has dorsal fins that are identical to Godzilla, I wonder if in this anime Godzilla is the source of all life and everything originates back to him.
Cool theory.
Apparently not...
Even though I wasn't a fan of the "Aquatilis" design, I was kind of excited to see a new version of Titanosaurus...
...now I'm just dissapointed.

wait so it ISNT titanosaurus?!!
The idea of a Mosasaur-like Godzilla form is cool, I just don't get why they made it look like Titanosaurus.
Also, Godzilla is already amphibious, why does he need an "aquatic" form?
I just realized that I spelled "Aquatilis" wrong...

saw your message only now (CET 12:00 h now). I don't blame you for the spoilers. This goes more in the direction of Legendary & Warner.
if you try to introduce a film internationally, then you should also try to include europe.
i've mentioned it before elsewhere here, the pandemic is of course a problem here in germany. we have partial curfews here at night. that means people here sit at home and pick their noses because of boredom.
if you had taken care of it in time (I'm thinking of the streaming services) instead of arguing about it like 7 year old children, who is going to get the nod. i see this chance as being wasted with every day that passes.
what can i say, i'm just a small candle on the planet. i'm just annoyed.
Music copyright doesn’t make sense to begin with actually. So IDK anymore.
That is true. Maybe in the unused footage there’s good characters there.
No, but obviously it's more difficult for less talented writers. For example, I don't have a lot of faith in Dougherty's or Shields' writing abilities. And to be fair, Rossio is probably past his prime. But Eric Pearson has a very impressive blockbuster resume, with movies that have excellent character work.
Not to mention, we don't really know what is lost in editing. It's not just a matter of what is cut, but what is re-arranged to create something completely different from the screenplay.
I has the same chords, build ups, one of the few differences is the inserted Star Wars theme.
Yeah it is cool
If it were a full on melodic motif, I'd be more critical of it. But anyone can blare horns and zip strings at that octave or variants thereof.
But the writers think they’re characters are good tho. They don’t just create bad characters on purpose. Or do they?
I like the Anguirus figure. It's a pretty cool design.
I don't think any writer has to react to criticisms in order to write decent characters though.
I guess.. but it’s just too noticeable.
Ah, yes. Not a full motif but worth examination, certainly. It's definitely a piece that inspired the moment, but Williams actually uses more notes in his variation.
@Gman
I guess that’s true, but my main point really is that the writers for GVK would not be able to react to KOTM criticisms so to expect a better human story doesn’t seem actually based.
This isn't entirely accurate.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters wrapped filming in September of 2017 and was written by Micheal Dougherty and Zach Shields who headed a writer's room of 10 people. The treatment took a year before pre-production, so the screenplay was actually being written in 2016--Perhaps even late 2015.
In 2017, Terry Rossio was leading a writer's room of 8 people to come up with a treatment for Godzilla vs. Kong. Eric Pearson then took that treatment and turned it into a full screenplay. Dougherty and Shields only made minor re-writes late in the game--By which point they were already done with Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
So each movie actually had a lot of different writers involved with very little overlap. And even if there was overlap, Godzilla: King of the Monsters was long since in the can.
Normall I would dismiss this but they have the exact same chords at the later part of the theme
@Gman
Heres a theme that shows what I’m talking about,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pM2SozsyPE
SarcasticGoji,
I think those fall more into inspiration for the theme, than flat out plagiarism. George Lucas even asked John Williams to base his score off of movies that Korngold specifically scored.
And while many, including Williams, has cited The Planets as inspiration, specifically Mars, The Bringer of War, I honestly don't hear it all that deeply.
In fact, I don't think anything in Star Wars does it justice as much as Star Trek. Nicholas Meyer, the director of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, wanted to use The Planets as the main score for the movie. He didn't have the budget to secure the rights, so he picked the excellent Cliff Eidelman to compose a score inspired by it. I think Eidelman's inspiration from Mars is far more apparent in the opening cue: Star Trek VI Main Title. But still not plagiarism.
I called this back in October. This is based off the "Mosasaurus Godzilla" concept by Keita Amemiya. It's from the Entertainment Bible: New Edition Godzilla Encyclopedia.
my point still stands.
Not everything was "plagarized" and most was likely influence or coincidence, I just wanted to bring it up. Thats only a small part of JOhn William's work on star wars
its like the scene in Godzilla vs KIng GHidorah where the guy thinks Goji will remember him but goji kills him
we dont know the others scenes tho, they might make the movie worse.
I was thinking of Jurassic Park rather than Star Wars when I mentioned John Williams
Toho: We retconned Titanosaurus into Godzilla Aqualatis.
Me:

@Gman
1940’s movie with eeriely similar theme, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sf47W9rXzRM
A motif from Rite of Spring and the Introduction music of Tatooine are COMPLETELY indistinguishable.
A theme in the fourth Movie, forgot which one (if I heard It i’d identity it), is almost exactly Gustav Holts “Mars” from his “The Planets” work.
I don't think Star Wars has a lot of plagiarized cues, it's just very recognizably John Williams' style. Which is fine, Ifukube is the same way.
Both have somewhat redundant compositional "voices", but what fantastic voices they have. Every John Williams score is a gift.
Is it connected to SHIN GOJI?!
@Xeno
Noooo... Star Wars has the most plagiarized music I’ve ever heard
Why not, It’d be fun. You write in the dimensions of each egg and name them all
0_o
....
. NO
Hey, u didn’t do every single egg. I counted about 12,706
The movie has actually made 358.6 million as of now, not 338 million.
