Blue.

Orange gives into the stereotype that Godzilla fires flames from his mouth. Not true. His atomic ray should reflect something different and almost alien. The blue coloring reflects the atomic idea. Orange is just too typical.

That would be great, believe its been a while since Toho actually made a game starring their characters in it.

If they do make one hopefully it will be like save the earth but with more options other than fighting and destruction.

and Hopefully they add Godzilla 2014 in as well along with G90s,G2000,SG, and Godzilla 1954.

and also Gigan 2004 and Gigan 1972.

would be one hell of a budget but if they make it would be fantastic.

@KAIJUJIRA, actually the color blue signifies far greater heat than orange, infact the hottest stars burn blue. plasma, wich can be far hotter than the surface of the sun  is blue as well

blue, its the color things are when they burn the hottest, take certain stars or plasma for example. blue is also the color associated with radiation( i dont know where the whole radiation is green thing came from).

truthfully id like to see godzilla take on more than two in the movie and after he fights the other monsters he would have to fight a monster of equal or greater power

@GTBetta35

I'm not sure where you're getting the numbers that the 98 movie is the most talked about movie of the series, but I don't agree with that in the least. Unless you can come back with some hard evidence about that.

And while the film is poor, I don't think claiming Godzilla fans wishing it was conservative is fair when compared to much of the jubilee surrounding the new movie and its liberties. Judging from the early leaked script of G2014, there will be things in the new film that will downright polarize Godzilla fans. But those elements are actually exciting and interesting new takes on the character, not unlike GMK actually. GINO was more interested in copying the better moments of Jurassic Park than doing anything truly innovative with Godzilla. And that's only part of its problem.

GODZILLA HIMSELFGodzilla ForumGodzilla vs Slattern

@KYERO, stop trying to look so smart man, i havent seen it in a while but im pretty sure godzilla got nuked underwater in g vs king ghidorah. also godzilla has survived far worse than nukes, for example the black hole gun, hes also been dropped into a volcano and has swam through magma totally unharmed. plus dont forget the asteroid. also the weight does matter. imagine a 7 foot tall, but anorexic, man trying to fight mike tyson or maybe louis cyr( strongman with a ton of records, 5 foot 10 but 290 lbs). the anorexic dude is going to lose. also godzillas weight points to him being far more dense than slattern wich gives godzilla a major advantage regarding durability. also the second time they fired the black hole gun at godzilla it clearly did not miss, oh and nukes underwater are much deadlier because water is denser than air, think about it,if someone dropped a bucket filled with air on you vs a bucket of water, wich would hurt more. in conclusion, stop being such a know it all, even the most intelligent of us, wich i must admit you are among, are wrong at times.

I imagine them, rescuing castaways from a destroyed ship, and then interrogate them, the witnesses said crazy things like "a giant dino-whale ate my mother in law!" so them (the rescue team) check the security camera and then they see the monster, or part of him.

but personally I´d like to see Godzilla first attack to some whale hunters, it would be karma and justice would be done.

#1- AWESOME idea!

#2- Yes, we absolutely need to talk about 1998. It is to this day the most talked about Godzilla EVER. Good or bad, we need to talk about it if you're making this thing happen. Plus, it isn't a bad film; it's just that the stubborn Godzilla fans are butthurt that it wasn't conservative. It was an awesome take that was never visioned before and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's got as many faults and laughs as any other Godzilla film.

Great link DAIKAIJU_DANIELLE.  I can see the entire head clear as day and how the neck of the muto goes into the body on the left side.

I was originally looking at this all wrong.  The mutos body is to the left of the train with his head biting down on top of it.  When the head lifts up you can clearly see a large black eye in the middle of the screen.  A tongue is tough to say though could still be the pink lining of its mouth.

The more i watch it the more it looks like the fan drawing that came from ComicCon

preamorph101Godzilla ForumWhat Made You a Godzilla Fan?

I really didnt know about godzilla till i seen an action figure of him in a toy store, it was of Burning godzilla and i loved dinosaurs and godzilla to me looked like an awsome dinosaur and i ended up getting it for christmas and still have the figure. That was back in 2003, i was born in 1997. I had not realized what he was but after watching my First movies which  Godzilla vs mechagodzilla(1974)  and Godzilla 2000. after those films i was hooked and one day my cousin, who was also a godzilla fan, was selling a whole tub of movies and half of them were godzilla and he just gave them to me. the films he had given to me were godzilla the king of the monsters, godzilla vs megalon, godzilla raids again and godzilla vs king gihdorah. i had also loved the 1998 godzilla film, even though people say it was horrible but i actually enjoyed the film alot. it may not stay true to the origionals but its still a great movie in my opinion and loved the animated series too. i have collected almost every godzilla film and also pick up toys here and there and now with Godzilla apearing on the big screen in 2014 i cant wait for the film. i will probally collect the toy lines too. thanks for reading.

Sorry you're not impressed dude,  if that's how you really feel...I also think that this is just a matter of trust towards an american studio and you're obviously more than disappointed with the last attempt, but it was a film that got me to be a g-fan in the first place and led me to the REAL godzilla...even more awesome cause I'm half-japanese...

sooo maybe, if you can, think about it that way positively. If you don't wanna watch it and honor the classics--no problem, please just do try then, not to sway others already in for the ride..

@MonsterKing5000

Ignored, yes. Not forgotten? Debatable. Just like if pricking my finger hurts, I don't do it, if I don't like a movie, I don't watch it-- So I don't understand that concept. What I do know is that Toho's "Final Box" did not include the movie and most fans would rather skip it.

@Durp004

I think both Japanese and heavily edited Americanized variations should stay in one topic. There it can be discussed which people prefer and the differences can be more easily compared. There's enough duplicate topics floating around on this forum as is, I don't think we should encourage more.

Durp004Godzilla ForumGodzilla vs Slattern

@Kyero

Why are you bringing Slattern's speed into this as a factor of the match? Slattern never left the water so while it appeared he was fairly mobile in that setting so is Godzilla. Granted the few scenes of him under water are hindered by the Special Effects budget toho had but the few cgi scenes and radar from subs coming into contact with him has shown underwater he's also decently fast.

Then there's the question of his size. Now I remember slattern being bigger, however that height has him at almost twice Jaeger size leaving me to guess that his height is including his tails.

I believe slatten is finally killed by Gipsy Danger's exhaust from it's nuclear power, so if that can burn through it I'm guessing the radioactive breath can do the same.

Reply
KyeroGodzilla ForumGodzilla vs Slattern

@GODZILLAHIMSELF - There is zero evidence or proof of any kind to support your idea that Godzilla could survive a direct nuclear blast.

Being born of radiation fallout after the bombs go off is VERY different from surviving a direct nuclear blast. In fact, the difference is so substantial that it's laughable. Godzilla was theorized to have been a dinosaur exposed to the radiation let off by the atomic bombs during his initial conception. He was NEVER at ground zero or even anywhere near the original blast site as far as we know. Toho never specified where he was and how much radiation he was exposed to. Regardless of where or when, the fact remains that since he wasn't at ground zero he was not exposed to the full extent of the power of the bomb. If he had been, he'd have been vaporized and Godzilla would never have been born in the first place.

If Godzilla ever did get hit in the face with a nuke, there's no doubt in my mind that he'd be vaporized. Even Godzilla has limits, and being exposed to the kind of sheer kinetic power alone that a nuclear bomb possesses, not counting the other elements and factors involved, would completely annihilate a creature of Godzilla's size and weight, no question. As big as he is, and as much as we love him, I have no doubt that a direct nuclear blast would kill him instantly.

Godzilla may feed off radiation, but a nuke is so much more than just radiation. The force of the blast coupled with the extreme heat, air pressure, shockwave, and more would decimate Godzilla's biology and wipe him off the face of the earth.

The black hole didn't even hit him, otherwise he wouldn't have been there at all. Nothing escapes a black hole. That's a fact that even Godzilla cannot ignore. The black hole in Godzilla vs. Megaguirus missed him, plain and simple. Either that, or there was another Godzilla underground the whole time.

@INSTINCTIVEGIGAN - Weight has nothing whatsoever to do with physical power, so your comment is worthless. Also, Pacific Rim took a lot of liberties with reality regarding just about everything, but the nuclear element was the one where they stretched it the most. The most obvious theory behind Gypsy surviving is that the blast occurred underwater which is more dense than air and thus slowed not only the blast, but cushioned the shockwave. If that were a real situation, Gypsy would have been blasted to smitherines being that close, underwater or not. But it's a movie, and you can't kill off the heroes in a movie like Pacific Rim.

As far as the topic itself is actually concerned, and despite being a hardcore Godzilla fan my whole life, I actually have to vote Slattern in a head to head match barring special abilities.

Why?

Size, speed, and intelligence. We all know that Godzilla is smart, but he never came up with ambush tactics or had a hive mentality to draw on past experiences. If Godzilla fought with any other Kaiju from the Pacific Rim lore before he fought Slattern, then the big S would have all the info on how Godzilla moves and fights to easily dominate the match. Slattern might be lighter than Godzilla, but is does that really matter? Not unless Godzilla manages to grab onto him, and if he does then his arms are no longer free to defend him from Slatterns tails or arms, which are much longer and more dextrous than Godzillas.

Sad to say it, but when taking Godzilla's atomic breath out of the equation, Slattern easily wins the fight in my logical mind. In my fanboy mind, Godzilla wins no matter what, but realistically if the two creatures went at it and Godzilla fought with only his body and not his breath, I could easily see Slattern winning the fight with his speed and intelligence, not to mention his ability to learn from his Kaiju brethren's past experience against the big G.

Will there be different topics for highly editted American versions? Off the top of my head the only 1s I can think of are the original Gojira which became Godzilla King of the Monsters. Then there's the sequel which wasn't as highly editted but bad voice acting really changed the tone and character perceptions

Ignored, but not Forgotten. I don't like that movie just as any true godzilla fan would, but that does mean I not going to watch it. I considered a guilty pleasure movie. It just A movie afterall since this new movie hold more promise than that film. Anyway I can get into some of this discussing, because Some Godzilla films where better than other. That doesn't also mean all of them can't be good, I just have favorite from all three series.

This Godzilla looks nothing like Zilla, sure you may have some resemblance but that's because both were created via CGI instead of suit's like TOHO formerly has done. Toho wouldn't allow America to do that again, that's why Toho renamed the american Godzilla to Zilla. They will not allow us to use the name Godzilla if it's not actually Godzilla.

Just because it became a monster in Toho's line-up after the fact doesn't make the movie any less palatable to being forgotten.

I'm pretty sure Slattern isn't 180 meters.

Specially since the jeagers themselves are only about 200 and some odd ft tall, slattern was bigger, but NOT THAT much bigger.

Gman2887  The problem with doing that is zilla from Godzilla 1998 is in final wars, not to mention it also was told in Gmk at the begginng. Zilla became a official monster in toho line.
