I want to play the Wii version of Godzilla Unleashed because it has much more monsters to fight as and since I only have the PS2 version I am missing out.
@Chris Picard
Thank you so much, Chris! Even though the film is far from a Godzilla movie, I still somewhat enjoyed it as a monster flick. I don't consider it a Godzilla movie; more like a remake of The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms. :)
@KaijuFall3
What I meant to say was that Gareth wanted to make the new movie to show American audiences what a real Godzilla looks like. :) Sorry for the misunderstanding!
You'll all hate me for this, but I don't hate the redesign, in terms of asthetics. I liked it as a kid & I still like it today, what I won't forgive is the complete disregard for established characters traits (no breath weapon, no missile immunity ect). I think that, had the film-makers not been total idiots & included those traits, the design would have gone over far better.
Please be aware that I'm not defending the movie, it's still an abysmal heap of s***
Really people are voting for GMK over Mothra vs Godzilla? How unlucky Mothra vs Godzilla got getting paired against such a popular movie(no matter how much I disagree and find it horrible) while the weaker Heisei version got lucky and got paired against Godzilla's revenge.
I remember when I was kid I was in an arcade shop outside of atlanta that had a lot of rare and japanese machines. I saw a Godzilla game, but it was unplugged/not working. I was so pissed and till this day I still feel dissapointed I never got to play it. I never even knew what it looked like or how it played until I googled it recently. It seems that only one or two machines exist in the US at the moment. Road trip, perhaps...lol
I usually go with Kiryu because I find using his missiles to be effective against most opponents. He also moves quickly enough to avoid various attacks, and can deal some great kicks.
Gigan is also fun to play as, especially when I get to grab and buzzsaw my opponent. Heh.
@Durp004
I can understand your personal preference to not see King Ghidorah anymore, but that still doesn't mean he can't (or won't) be taken in new directions again. The problem is, it's not simply Toho that continues to bring him back, but the audience. It's less about Toho doing different things with the character and more about box office reciepts.
Why do you think King Ghidorah was the first monster to be revamped in the Heisei series? vs. Biollante didn't perform at the box office like Toho had hoped. Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, on the other hand, knocked it out of the park. King Ghidorah was in the first movie of the Millennium series that revamped monsters as well. Why? Because Godzilla x Megaguirus was the least attended Godzilla movie since Godzilla vs. Megalon. GMK, on the other hand, was the highest grossing movie of the Millennium series. So saying Toho is being foolish to use him instead of other monsters is completely false. In fact, you could argue his popularity saved the series on a couple of occasions.
Toho has seen that King Ghidorah sells more tickets and draws a larger crowd. You have the fanbase to blame just as much as Toho at this point-- And honestly, I'm fine with it. As a huge King Ghidorah fan I welcome more iterations as most monsters don't interest me nearly as much.
I maintain that more can be done with him, like any monster granted. But out of a great number of other monsters he's one of the few that sparks true excitment. He was the classic foil to Godzilla. The first monster Godzilla needed help to defeat and his legacy has only grown since then-- no more unnaturally than Godzilla's, really. The reason we have so many movies with King Ghidorah is the same reason we have so many Godzilla movies.
@Kyero
I typically agree with you, but here I think your missing the better part of his legacy.
Fantastic powers and abilities don't necessarily add to the "best" of Godzilla's foes. Sure we could argue Destroyah was Godzilla's most powerful foe, but does that make him his greatest? Not in the least.
In fact I've found Destroyah overrated by a fanbase that cites universe established hijinks to argue his dominance. But the fact is the fight between Godzilla and Destroyah was never that riveting. We can say he's the most powerful because, "Godzilla was in his most powerful state," but it still played out like any other Heisei fight. Lots of beams, little movement, not much struggle. Same ole'. Same ole'. Not to mention Destroyah was overdesigned just enough for the suit actor to barely move...
But all of that is a moot point. Godzilla vs. Destroyah did nothing to establish an iconic character-monster. It was just another heavy Heisei era beast. When King Ghidorah was introduced in 1964 it gave audiences something very different. Honda pitted him against Toho's three mightest beasts and he was able to stand his ground. The destructive capabilities of Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra had already been introduced in their own movies. Godzilla himself had only fought monsters one-on-one at this point. (Barring the Mothra larva team-up.) So the fact that all three of these monster stars were needed to even out the playing field spoke worlds to the audience back then.
You also have to consider the debut movie as well. On top of King Ghidorah being a fantasical, violent monster, unlike any other seen at the time, the movie itself is often considered one of the series' best. It was critically well recieved and good word of mouth didn't hurt Ghidorah's introduction either.
This isn't an argument against other monsters, mind you. In a way I agree that other monsters should be equally appreciated. But some just haven't made the same impression. Or they've simply debuted in the wrong decade of the series.
It be cool if you can design your own city.
Godzilla 2000, Megalon, MOGERA, Anguirus.
Godzilla 1954
Godzilla Againts Mecha Godzilla
Godzilla 2000
i prefer the one which godzzila nearly colide with an aircraft carrier

BUT just BUT! add a mode once story is completed with Updated versions of Most Kaiju! ESPECIALLY my personal fave. HEDORAH! wierd i know but still! i can design the characters updated!im terrible with coding tho.... so. lolz. btw what platform will this be for pc or console? and if console wouldnt we be better off submitting our idea to some vidio game company? i knwo we can make one but.. how and where will it be played? who will advertise.........SCRATCH THAT! i hate me. im Sooooooo optimistic. (sarcasim) DONT BE DETERED WE CAN DO THIS! I also came up with a new monster! no name tho.

Man imagine how big the Godzilla ride will be.
I already seen the picture and it,s great i really do like the backround and the destruction Godzilla is causiing :)
Glad you guys like Marvel, but Marvel is not for me. Marvel don't have a character that I really like and go crazy for. Maybe a little bit of spider-man, I some what like him.
Yep, love this pic! Used to have it as this site's background before we had official media to work with. The artist (who's name escapes me right now cause its late) has a number of great pieces like that. We've featured many of his works on our Facebook page if you scroll back far enough, haha.
very nice, i wounder if godzilla possess for the paintings?
I like everything you said so far and I would to add an attack. Depending on which version of Godzilla you use how about a Nuclear Pulse? This would done when the Energy bar is full
Now for the rest of the story. After you get your power back, you travel to across Japan, with Mothra, facing various obstacles like army. Once you get to the factory your new objective is to destroy the Nuclear Power source and take it for yourself. And Mothra can't help you because something else is happening and she must live. Once you have done that, the monster you faced before, attacks you and you defeat it. It retreats and isn't seen again until the end of the game. Now you head to Osaka to get your power back. While you are doing that a new classic monster, either Gigan or Megalon attacks you. After you defeat it you continue to destroy Osaka. In a cutscene it is revealed that the mysterious forces are aliens with the ability to create there Kaiju. They send monsters after you, including Destoryah, King Ghidorah, the first monster you fought, and either Gigan or Megalon depending which monster you fought earlier. In between each fight, you are given a small time regain some of the power you lost. Now comes the main boss. It is much more powerful than you other opponents. After you manage to defeat him Godzilla lets out an ear splitting roar and the credits roll. After the credits are finished you unlock bonus levels and are aloud to roam around Japan. Tell me what you think about this storyline and what you change about it. Thanks.
This video.. is.. what? I mean cool effects and all, but the way the protray the real Gojira.. makes the original seems like a flop.
yeah maybe i need to get off my ass and submit a pic showing that this isnt a very hard to reimage type of monster, in fact GHIDORA is easier than any of the others other than that one that looks like a giant t-rex. just think of the muscle structure and apply it to ghidora ... i actually already seen a perfect reimagingin of him.
Hey Daikaiju_Danielle, I edited your OP to actually embed the video for you. Thanks for sharing this! I actually had not known they made a 14,000+ lb animatronic Godzilla for this, really interesting stuff! Also find it funny they used the last name of the designer as the main character's last name.
Though I don't agree with their decisions to alter Godzilla so dramatically, I do understand "why" they thought it would be a good idea. Frankly, many people who weren't fans of Godzilla before, seemed to enjoy the movie more. It's only the real "fans" of the classics who found this film degrading.
Thanks Dinoboy,
I wrote it myself!
Kind of along those lines a movie based off of the book Godzilla Invades America would be epic
Worst Ghidorah EVER! Ghidorah is suppose to be a terrifying 3 headed dragon, not some flashy blue creature....
I like it. Looks pretty sweet! There's always been variations of Ghidorah, why not a Marine one! You've got my vote.
@NECHA RODAN. It wouldn't HAVE to be. Doesn't Godzilla sleep and spend most of his time in the ocean? Yet he still comes out to land.
@King of zombies,
Agree, and disagree. JP had better effects overall, and that's because it used more (and life sized) practical effects. However, the CGI in Godzilla 98' (in my opinion) was better. Jurassic Park's special effects still hold up for the most part today, and is the exception more than the rule for the 90's. Total Recal, The Mask, and Starship Troopers were more "par" for the course in the 90's.
Then you have the exceptions like JP, Godzilla, and Terminator 2.
Again, this is all my opinion.
THATS REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY COOL
Thats AWESOME
I really like the design. If there was a Marine King Ghidorah I would like it to look like that.
I know but with the whole M.U.T.O. thing i saw a way to find a crossing between the real part of the new age of Godzilla and the old fashion monsters of aliens and mutants.
