@Kaijew...LOL, no, that is the eight-legged, look at the orientation of the arms of this new one. It has a large wing-like membrane stretched across it and that second set of arms is MUCH larger than that of the previous MUTO.
So last muto figure we saw was the flying muto the whole time.
Where are the pictures? I can't see them!
The wings look like arms. But it is a small toy so there won't be much detail. Either way that looks pretty awesome.
So the description coming from the guy whom looked these in the TOy Fair was very missleading, because it does not look like a moth nor having GIgan features to me. It looks to have the same anatomy like the walkign MUTO, only that 2 of its limbs become pterosaur like wings (at least I think that its shape, due here they look bended when the vampire bats are walking on the ground, like some pterosaurus representations)
The chibi figures look funny, specially GOdzilla, he looks like from the old Dinosaur sitcom, you know the SInclaer family.
By the way, any reference for TOywiz.com???? I would like to preorder some figures, but I only found divergent opinions about the site so it is quite unclear to me if it is safe; and ever since I live outside US and the shipping rates are high, I do not want to risk my money.
ANANASATOM@
Well obviously its...Um...Oh darn...
They clearly looking the same :D
Oh yeah! I want to buy the Chibis they are awesome! :DDD But wait... when both MUTOs are blck and red.... what are the white "claws" in the train scene!?
@Daikaiju_Danielle, actually I think that the other IS the eight-legged Muto. If you look at the arms on this one, they're significantly bigger because of the hidden wings. I think they both look the same just one can fly and the other can't. As for size differentials, I can't comment, but I did notice that difference in the two.
sooo are the first destruction pack muto and this one the same? just with wings?
Here are sone chibi pictures.

WOW, That thing is...I dont really know yet, seeing as i cant see it properly...
And its not Rodan. Finally we`re done witht that.
What's up with this latest pic of winged MUTO? They all look like Cloverfield's cousin. This actually looks like the first MUTO (bioluminescent one) except with wings. Could be one and the same with just the wings just tucked in somewhere. Not very original looking and kind of dissapointing. Feel like it's a been there done that monster. Luckily, the monster seen diving in water, tearing into train, and striking helicpoter in the 2nd trailer is gray colored and looks nothing like this winged MUTO. Until I'm proved differently, I still see Rodan's shape and sillloette in the trailer. So, we have Godzilla, winged and non-winged MUTO (shown in toys), a still unknown flying MUTO (Rodan?), and the big surprise during the HALO jump, possiblty male Godzilla mating (yes quote me) with female Godzilla. We'll see!
That's funny. I just sent that link to a moderator about 10 minutes before your post (SMH).
I cant see them. I know the photos arent there, but the toys themselves arent listed for me. I wonder if this is a fate-created allegory for the fact that my country wont be getting these toys...And i did check to see if it directed me to the danish toysrus, and it didnt.
DAMN YOU GOD/FATE/WHATEVER/MORGAN FREEMAN!
But seriosuly though im not seeing the toys listed.
^
logged in just to say that :D
and btw expect the winged MUTOS figure to be all around the internet in a week or two
Wait...Is it a normal thing for theaters to have that? Mine doesnt :X...Our theater is only about 10 years old and we're the number 3 grossing AMC in the US. I think d-box are only found at less conservative theaters. If given the opportunity, though, i'd definitely check G out in a d-box!
@ GTBETTA35
i mean as an option, tron legacy had it in some theaters, heck my theater didnt get d box till last year
It's not happening. The only things Godzilla is recieving is Dolby ATMOS. My theater is going to install the ATMOS speakers within the next month or so.
@godzilla himself
that ecosystem idea, (really just got me thinking how awesome that would be) makes alot of sense. i mean, where did the one we all call "vishnu" come from. on that note i leave you pondering this; it's said big g will only fights 2 new monsters, maybe there is a unseen fight between the mutos and vishnu? and side note has anyone read the godzilla comic "past, presant, future." there is a monster that attacks big g in the jurassic time that is winged.
sinkholes can only mean one thing, Anguirus.
I'm kidding of course, but I liked your comparison to destoroyah, very well thought out!
eversince i was 4 when i saw godzilla 2000 and the 1998 remake. i wanted to know more about him since.
@durpoo4
everyone seems to always forget abou the sinkholes, no idea why, i gave up on makin gposts about them.
in any case, yea, they are definetly important to the plot. in fact, i noticed that some of the dots on the globe in the muto site seem to match up with real sinkholes, and that the connecting dots on the network grid, match up with the dots on the globe, could this be alluding to an underground ecosystem where the mutos initially originate? i dont know, maybe
com esto se aclara todo asi q godzilla a estado dormido durante decadas y ahora a despertado esto es genial estonces los mutos tanto como godzilla eran enemigos antiguamente es posible q godzilla sea preistorico igual q los mutos
To be completely honest, The vocabulary in the writing is not 3+ appropriate. "Kill" "Atomic" "Evolved" "Pacific Ocean" "1954" etc. etc. The list goes on. That's not marketing of a professional company trying to sell to kids. I've never seen a paragraph explaining a movie in such detail behind a 3+ kids toy. Hm.
Very credible. I applaud your knowledge of the sea (I'm a marine biology major). Very, very well theorized.
For a first post you make quite a crucial and critical analyses. The Destroya theory never occured to me
Leaked script aside (keep in mind it may not have been the final draft) people who saw the 20 min of footage (IGN specifically) said that Godzilla was actively persuing the Muto accross the Pacific and he flat out crushes one in Hawaii. Think Triceratops vs. T. rex or hyenas vs. lions. The fact that they can kill each other doesn't mean one is a hapless sheep and the other is a wolf!
What I want to know is what the heck the Mutos actually are. Godzilla is clearly some kind of tetrapod, but the Mutos don't look like any animal phyla on Earth; they look like aliens. I think there is a good chance that they are analogous to the kaiju from specific Rim... Oh wait! The kaiju tried to invade the Earth during the Triassic and were stopped by something... and Gareth has been in talks with Del Torro off and on.. are you kidding me? Does this look like what I think it does?
Pretty sure the MUTOs will originate from the sinkholes that are very important on the muto website.
Those sinkholes have to have a big part in the story and since Godzilla is coming from the ocean I think the sinkholes will be where they find the other monsters that fight him.
Sorry, for whatever the reason, the link to the image didn't work. I dont have the patience to try and figure it out at the moment. It works for me when I copy-paste into address bar. Give it a try. If it doesn't work, then oh well, stinks for me.....
Can't believe you took the time to write all that. Very intriguing. I have a strong feeling that that's the way it's going to go down in the movie.
I KNEW IT! I always did theorize that Godzilla evolved at a time where nuclear radiation of the natural kind was ever-present, thus the creatures that lived in the era would also have been changed and evolved by way of "radioactive selection". Some creatures would evolve beyond normal evolutionary restraints to become the embodiments of "living gods" whom appear to defy the natural laws and yet abide by them at the same time.
My hibernation theory was also correct! If my theory of the gill structure proves true, I think I'm gonna go crazy!
THIS IS FREAKING AWEOSME! WOW! :DDDDD
We know so much more about Godzilla, yet nothing about the Muto. :O
