1984 by far IMO but after that i really like the Heisei generation roar(s).
I had a dream in which Godzilla and Destoroyah were duking it out in the middle of Disney World.
I've been checking for this (googling once every few months) for probably the last 8 years. This is exciting news.
You're seeing things. But hey, it's nice to think about.
Still, the chances they'll use more than one Godzilla in this film are as good as zero so I doubt we'll even see a reference to any other Godzillas. Also, when they said that in 1954 during the atomic tests they were "trying" to kill it. To me, that sounds like a big indication that the 1954 Godzilla is the same one that is stomping around in 2014 in this movie.
Thats possibly the best explanation for liking something I have ever read ever. I've been been watching all my Godzillas movies again and next up is terror of mechagodzilla, I haven't seen it for a very long time so now I'm really excited lol
Wasn't there a thread for this already?
i did a bunch of muto- toho hybrids in one of my old threads, can those count?
i had a dream about this, except i was on vacation, in a valley, and when godzilla attacked, a bunch of bandints with sombreros and machetes were charging people moeny to escape, and when they thought he was gone, they had a party with bright lights, and that annoyed godzilla so he came back, which i had known would happen. what a dream, terryfing though, and gory...
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!! FRICKEN AWESSSSSOOOOOMEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :O
remember, amphcolious was a lightly built diplodacid, the closest thing i could think of to a daikaiju(and it would still be pretty far off) would be bruhathkayosaurus, shorter than amphcoleous, but the higher weight estimates put it at a size comparable to a blue whale, if not bigger.
I wonder if that angelic music that plays is possibly a snippet from Alexander Desplats score for the film. No pieces of his score have been released yet as far as I know.
Don't know why but ever since I was a kid I always loved the 1962 Godzilla roar.
2014 roar. The end.
G1984 for me. It was deep, growly, and angry. It sounded like a cleaned up version of the original.
@LOPSQUID
I finally figured it out, do you want me to post on here or are you gonna make another thread for us to put our art?
GODZILLA RULES!!!!!
My favourite part of this new trailer were those 10 seconds at 0:34, when a woman sings "aaaa", its EPIC. its not the action music that plays when someone is run away from a giant wave, or the horror music that plays when someone look for a hiding from an earthquake; its just the music that says "you´re fucked, just give up and die."
This is already categorized as a dinosaur, Not a kaiju. Kaiju are usually from fictional books, or movies, or ledgend.
This is a dinosaur, It is also not a fully complete skeleton, Only a sole vertebrae was discovered. Even the scale of it is assumed, we have yet to recover an actual full skeleton.
(As stated prior, Herbivore)
"Daikaju" is not a scientific term. You should not use it for real animals. In any case this sauropod was a herbivore, not the primarily carnivore look which the Godzilla design was based on.
Wow, the excitement just keeps on comin'. This, this is AWESOME!!!
Yup, I think its likely he might lose one, maybe two battle against the Hokmuto at first, but then he will come back stronger and kick the ass of the Hokmuto. Remember, to be interesting for the viewer, the Hokmuto must present itself as a challenge against Godzilla. That is what the best Godzilla monster foes are like. Be powerful and a real threat to Godzilla (i.e King Ghidorah, Destroyah, Rodan etc) but ultimately, Godzilla will always prevail in the end.
A bit of progress on the textures for the lowpoly.

He stands upright but hunches as he walks, that's a detail I thought they'd never include, I'm so glad they did that.

Yeah, the trailers do suggest bigger spikes. But I'm...just worried. Call it the lingering skepticism against Hollywood if you like. Everything I've seen so far of this 2014 Godzilla design looks spot on, but I still have a lagging worry. Maybe after the '98 version, I just can't so easily trust Hollywood with Godzilla design. Yeah I know, probably unwarranted concerns given how Edwards seem to really care about Godzilla. Oh well, lets hope Edwards is right.
I love both. They're actually very different movies despite using the same elements.
My vote is for Terror of MechaGodzilla. It was Ishiro Honda's last movie and the darkest (even depressing) of the 1970s. The characters are possibly the strongest in the series since the late 60s-- The telescoped relationship between Ichinose and Katsura works in that it adds a layer of tragedy to the film's end. And Katsura's story arc is mirrored in the tragic use of Titanosaurus expertly.
MechaGodzilla is as threatening as always, but the best part about Godzilla's mechanized foe is when Godzilla tries to rip off his head again: I liked how it tricked audiences into thinking it would work a second time.
Godzilla's role in this movie is almost god-like. He's a hero, but he arrives in an almost mythic-avenger fashion. He has no help on his side, he simply exists in this film to be a balance to the larger threats. The fact he takes on both MechaGodzilla and Titanosaurus by himself makes him seem like a seasoned warrior. He's tough. Tougher than he is in the last few movies.
Another thing people seem to forget about Terror of MechaGodzilla is now we know why the aliens are attacking Earth. They glossed over that reason in the first movie.
Terror of MechaGodzilla is probably one of my favorites and I'd argue it's one of the best, darkest and even more "adult" driven of the movies. That is, unless, you're fine with your kids seeing fake boobies and a person's humanity stripped from them...
Ishiro Honda did excellent job closing out the series and it's fitting that he direct the first and last of the Showa era.
@AtomicBlast
Based on what we've been seeing, I remember hearing from a news website that they'll be only 2 monsters. The SDCC 2012 trailer was only a mood-piece anyway.
It's possible though that what the person that made the theory be saying might turn out to be true. It'd be quite the interesting twist.
Holy cow, where the ding dong heck did THIS FRESH AWESOMENESS COME FROM?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! WOW! What a great trailer!!!! I was expecting a new international trailer to come out eventually, but I never would have guessed it would have ANY new footage, let alone this cavalcade of new stuff for us to analyze! The new shots are incredible, especially the lightning shot of Godzilla, and of course, the FREAKING WINGED MUTO!!!!!!!! :D But the scene with the giant trench and that TINY helecopter... shivers up and down my spine. O_O And I know I can't be the only one who drew parallels to this...

A brilliently executed homage, no?
What a great surprise this trailer was!!!! I loved it! BRING ON THE KING!!!! :D
Go outside
Freakout why Im in a human town and not sleeping under a pile of gold
Fly back to the misty mountain
Put on the led codpiece I always keep handy on my person.
Look for my camera.
Take a picture of him.
Realize that it is too late to escape death by radiation poisoning.
Cry.
Realize that this is the perfect opportunity to die in literally the most badass way physically possible.
Ponder what my exact options for this are.
Steal a flare gun.
Climb to the top of a skyscraper in his path.
Fire a flare at his eye once he is very close.
Be forever remembered as the guy who died by jumping into Godzilla's mouth as he roared in fury.
At least one battle. Mabye the 2 mutos(mabye more) will over power him and he will retreat but then the bomb in the teaser trailer makes him more powerful and he defeats them.
WOW , this was a surprise !! that awesome shot of Godzilla , the MUTO , the tsunami , the school bus wooo! , im even more hyped now and they still doesnt show too much , in fact it gave the chills that i felt when i first saw Gojira (1954) , so now i just cant wait .. and besides Elizabeth Olsen is so beautiful *-*

The Monster from the 2012 trailer has NOT been confirmed to have been cut from the Movie, that is a lie. He can still be in the Movie.
i am not a fan of his toes :
I personally think that there will be multiple fights between Godzilla and the Mutos.
meaning that there is goning to be a fight in Hawaii and maybe in Vegas, while the final battle will be in SF i think.
I also purpose that Godzilla himself will finish off the Hokmuto and the military will do so with the winged Muto...
butthat is just my theory, at the end of it all, it will most likely be very different, as most if the time when speculating about upcoming movies :b
honestly i was surprised but not shocked but not dissapointed really my response to this trailer was, niccccccccceeeee https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIfOjkB17BA
O.o I love it!
it's an international trailer what did you expect, it is supposed to be smaller (in terms of duration and tone) than the main trailer
