He is a good actor, leaving aside a few stinkers he was in (with one of those stinkers made in '98 of course).
You might think I'm crazy, but I could stare at that poster all day.
A few months ago, I was nervous that this movie would be hovering around the $300-400 million mark, which wouldn't really justify a sequel. Regardless of marketing, I just didn't think non-Godzilla fans would really want to see the movie.
However, after seeing the trailer views, reading comments on non-Godzilla related websites, and hearing about audience reaction to the pre-screened footage (especially when compared to the lukewarm/slightly above average reactions for footage screened for other films, like Spiderman), I think something in the $500-600 million ballpark is more possible than I originally estimated.
As a side note: Vampire Academy wasn't profitable. But it's hardly "biggest flop of all time" kinda stuff. It's production budget was likely less than $20 million if you compare it to other films in the genre/cast/production quality (I can't actually find any budget numbers so I'm not 100% on that). And I've read the movie made closer to $12 million than $8 million. With marketing costs and everything, the movie definitely still LOST money. But just a few million. Which is more of a slight disappointment, than a huge flop.
lol I showed the drawings to my friends at school and they said his forehead was too big, as if they were looking at the front of him. Then another said that Godzilla had a rape face on. Children these days...
that is really cool
Show me a planting-eating Kaiju in the Godzilla series, Linkzilla.
As for insults, where did I call you "names"? Its not right to call real animals 'Daikaju" for the simple reason that we don't call real things as fictional creatures, same size or not. We don't say unicorns are "real" just because there are animals with horns on their heads (narwhal). Besides, if you really want to talk about size, you do realize Godzilla is 300+ feet now and some of his adversaries (Ghidorah, Destroyah etc) are even bigger. That is far bigger than this dinosaur you point out.
Sure, some early kaijus have a similar size, but again, its wrong to place real animals as comparison, you don't see real animals shoot lasers or atomic breath out of their mouths do you?
@ dannyblazor: that would be amazing, but I think you mau be overreaching a bit. I think 500-550 is more realistic. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see this movie blowing the lid off the box office. 200-250 domestic + 250-300 million over-seas.
51 years! thats a lot of fish.....
I don't think they could evolve that fast. I think that the regular Muto(8 legged) Is Godzillas old rival and the winged one is human made(not really what I think but it's a possibility).
729 million. Calling it
I have an iPhone and I've tried. Use a computer
He's Godzilla, THE KING OF ALL THE MONSTERS! He's had more movies than any other movie character and has been one of the most well-known and influential pop culture characters of all time. He is going to make way more than 6 million. Perhaps he'll make 1954 million. See what I did there. But seriously, this movie will be successful.
do you know when we will get pictures for the attacking muto figure?
@JOSHUAHOPKINS
I certainly hope you meant 500 to 600 million...not 5 to 6 million.
If the Godzilla movie was to take in that low of a gross, it would be a disaster.
I personallly see around 100-120 million domestic and 300-375 million international.
Once again, I ask you, what does Godzilla having a carnivore design have to do with this animal? The last time I checked, a monster's diet has nothing to do with whether it's a kaiju or not. And, Jesus Christ, lighten up, will you? I was obviously not seriously suggesting that I or anyone else should go around calling real animals "daikaiju." I was merely pointing out that a real animal existed which was around the same size as your average Godzilla monster. And finally, resorting to personal insults is just low.
Also, it seems that 3 posts in this discussion after my second post have randomly disappeared. Does anyone know why that might have happened?
you go to the little landscape button and it tells you to insert/edit image, then copy image url and then there's the picture
yeah we no what is it
How do you post pictures??????? Whenever I try to post a picture nothing comes up. Someone help me please.
It's alright, man. I bet you some other people have made mistakes aboit this, too.
I think the MUTOs might start of on land which is the 8 legged then they evolve into the winged MUTO.
Godzilla 1998, despite all it's bad reviews, managed to make almost 400 million dollars (not sure what the converts to today with inflation).
If this film is a success in the eyes of the general audience, and reviews come out good, I believe Godzilla should make at least 500 million worldwide. Don't forget that Pacific Rim was a completly new Kaiju film with no fanbase before it and it pulled in over 400 mil.
Godzilla will certainly make more than Vampire Academy lol That is a for sure thing.
i was born 2002 so i know Godzilla i did not read it though but by the looks of it i think you made it sound better than i do
no its a picture that i want to show you guys
Err, you couldn't just tell us what it is? Sorry.
Since I don't have an I-pod, I am no assistance. Try describing the photo or where you found it and I'll go looking for it.
I feel like the 8 legged and winged M.U.T.O.s will be the only enemies in this, but I would absoulety love if this "red belly" beast is something new. Mostly because I spoiled the look of the other kaijus for myself lol
It's alright dude, we all make mistakes.
happy birthday ferris bueller
hey guys i'm talking about the 2014 movie but hey i'll take the toho ones as well
Rodan isn't in the movie just think about it rodan is one of the most iconic ally and used to be enemies of godzilla and it would cost a lot of money so that toho can let legendary and warner bros use one of their classic kaijus believe me it would be great but at least we re having new enemies that are an inspiration from other toho monsters. probably in the future if we are lucky enough to get a sequel maybe the new enemie would be and inpsiration from rodan or probably another famous godzilla enemy. ty for reading :)
It is actually an 8 legged muto Thay are just counting the legs For me if the 8 legged muto had 6 legs and only 2 arms it would be kind of creepy just sayin :)
