How in the world can that be gamera. check your god danm post.
are you fucking serious @CACHOONGASAURUS DUNZILLA. IT LOOKS NOTHING LIKE GAMERA!
Well in the TV spot there is a strange shape that looks a lot like Gamera.
My new Godzilla t-shirt that I bought from the WB shop should be here by Friday. I bought this t-shirt if your curious.
GODZILLA_2014_RULES it's not that you don't have interesting points but making a topic about every little thing you find doesn't deserve it's own discussion. In addition, like GODZILLASAURUS_REX and myself have already stated, there's a whole topic where this already fits.
Official Godzilla (2014) Merchandising Thread!
Go there and post it, I appreciate your positive attitude and understanding. But regardless, I have to lock this topic (and I'm just going to assume lag is the reason why there's 3 of these topics). No hard feelings. :)
obvious troll bait. isn't there a ban feature on this forum?
I can't wait to see these Mutos in action. I'm loving their design! Here's what I think is smart about these monsters, and if they play their cards right, they can use them to bring to life all the other established Toho monsters in films to come. Assuming this film does well and ensures sequels, the muto monsters could eventually mutate more into such kaiju as Gigan, Megalon, Ebirah, or even Orga. They'd keep all the new kaiju in this realistic universe instead of having to have the outlandish origin stories they had. They can have these generic muto monsters always be around, like nuisances, but every now and then one or two pop up like PacRim LVL 4 kaiju, with even crazier features and abilities. They could even have versions of the Muto Monsters being bioengineered to be controlled and work for mankind to help destroy Godzilla. This could turn into stories of failures going haywire and producing horrible monstrosities like Biollante, Destroyah, etc.
Hmm...
This is a good question because I honestly don't know which past Godzilla is my favorite among them. I have qualities in all of them that I like and don't like. For example, GMK. I LOVE the bejeezus out of the eyes, but I hate the hunchback look. G2000, I love the body proportions, but I don't like the purple coloration of the spikes or the fact that he's actually green (I love the shape of the spines though). Godzilla vs. Mothra (original), I loved the evil look, but I didn't like the bell shape of his body. It was a bit too human.
Things like that keep me from having a true favorite, but if I had to pick a single suit that I liked the best out of all of them, it has to be Desu-Goji. That glowing suit with the lava-like rashes or whatever they were just made my jaw drop when I saw it for the first time when I was a kid. Also, the tone of that film was perfect. Well balanced with suspense, impending dread, and ultimately the sense that no matter what happens, humanity is going to lose. All of that culminates in my love for that suit.
When it comes to Godzilla 2014, I have my likes and dislikes about the design, but the likes FAR outweigh the dislikes.
I love the face, but I think the neck (specifically the throat) could be just a little bit thinner. Just a little. Right now he looks like he's got a pin head, though that does harken back to the Heisei series given the head/body ratio. I don't like the look of the torso, as it appears a tiny bit boxy in the toys and a little bit chunky in the belly.
However, I pretty much love everything else about it.
he definitely said ripped off, il try to dig up the article though
I highly doubt he would use the phrase "Ripped Off".. Source link if you can because it would be extremely poor PR to say something like that.
i dont think its his foot, clearly his hand as you can see his neck on the floor in the distance
its obviously not a technical rip off, I think we are all aware toho has been working close on the film, but it would seem by Gareths comments that one specific monster directly resembles a Toho one, it could be a monster we haven't seen yet, or a lesser known one.
I agree it would be a perfect time to get the word out... Ill keep my fingers crossed when watching all of the games.
Here we go again..... Godzilla 2014 Rules, there's already topics spefically made for this subject.
Kumonga. Cause of the legs
This movie keeps looking more and more incredible.
I love the footsteps every time you click something.
Toho has been helping on this film, so they didn't technically rip anything off, The M.U.T.O are insect like creatures. If Toho didn't want something in the film it wouldn't be in it. They studios have a close relationship!
And If you compare Godzilla 2014 to the Japenese Godzillas Godzilla 2014's spikes are to Little.
Monster X,Zilla,Manda,Keizer Ghidorah,Ebirah,Kumonga,Hedorah, and all of The Godzilla Suits,
Oh i forgot The New Muto Monster and all of the new godzilla monsters coming up in [Godzilla 2014]
