It sounds really menacing. I love the roar!!!
First Question: there's a few things you can do. First is add more resolution to dynamesh, then click it. There's a slider with a number on it. If you haven't been using it, it's default setting is 128. If you have divided the model already, then yes, you'll lose detail. unless you slide the dynamesh up to a really high tripple digit #, which isn't recomended. but if you're still working in default dynamesh, then slide it up to 256 or something. then click it. If you did divide the model, then you can try zRemesher. Duplicate the tool you want to zRemesh, then highlight that tool, then hit zRemesh. There are a few tweakers, so if you aren't happy with what you get, undo and adjust the tweakers to get different results. zRemeshing a really high poly subtool will take a long time tho, and could crash zBrush a lot. so be ready for that. save often. Definitely look up zRemesher on the pixologic site. I know for a fact it can add resolution to the entire subtool, or just certain areas, and decrease it where it's not needed as much. It's amazingly useful, but I'm not that familiar with it beyond that. I need to learn more about it. Def look into it tho.
Second Question: When you merge down, or merge all, all that happens is that you get those tools to become one, but all the geometry is still there of both, or all. To get rid of it, you have to dynamesh, or zRemesh.
@Gman2887- Hype does do some pretty crazy things. I remember hearing everyone praisng Godzilla's new design, then seeing his foot and freeking out in the most negative way possible (well, 2nd to Zilla).
Ian Malcom shows up... "that is one big pile of shit"
@Junkerde- Ah, I see. You are one of those people. I will not call you master, thank you. In fact, you're post has been reported for that remark.
As for reality, optimism is part of reality, sir/ma'am. Without it, we would not have a new Godzilla movie. Nor would we have electricity or anything else we have today. So, yes, I have indeed heard of reality. You're version of it is obviously extremely narrow-minded.
How can anyone listen to a 40 second clip and say it's better than the 40 years of Ifukube's work that's available to us? It's like watching a trailer to the new movie and saying it's the best Godzilla movie ever.
I like what I hear in the clip and it's certainly sounds like it belongs in a Godzilla movie. But there's nothing here that trumps Ifukube, Otani, Oshima or Sato-- yet anyway...
Hype does something crazy to people's brains...
I with you Devianteist. I think they are testing the market. I know I am downloading on the morning of May 16th.
@DannyBlazor- I feel they are making it to test the market. See how many people download it before anyone attempts to make an actual console game.
Test the waters before jumping in head or feet first. You don't want to drown.
@Junkerde- Snooping around, I see you are truly as unpleasent as I thought. Ever heard of a little thing called optimism, sir/ma'am?
dopepope, those are amazing! I have an issue with my stuff, I now have my model shaped but with very uneven polygons, so like part of the mouth doesnt have enough polygons so its not smooth.
example: you can see his lower part and various parts of the face have that weird polygon stretch to it because the polygons arent evened
I can dynamesh but that ruins alot of the detail i worked on. How do I rework the polygons so that they are evened out? I'm already at a high level poly count, I know this is a noob mistake but seeing your models I can see how more professional you are at making your models.
Also another issue I have, I have the head and body seperated into 2 subtools, but when i merge them they still ahve this line in between them, tehre is no "merging" together of the two, the creas is always there, example:
how do I go about fixing this and making that little crease go away at the neck?
I think that they're making Godzilla Smash 3 as an apology for not making a console game for the movie, it'd be weird to have a mobile game and a console game you know?...
Especially when it's in a candy crush type game^
yes, and it's that we will be getting candy crush copy godzilla games and not actual fighting based ones and that we can only foresee it's future on mobile devices. Nothing good to look forward to.
Yeah, unfortunately I couldn't submit every single question. I did my best to select the ones which I think everyone would've been most eager to know the answers to. Like the one about the atomic breath. ;)
We might do another interview down the road, who knows!
Have to agree with you Daikaiju. Akira Ifukube's is still you the best.
Better than Akira Ifukube? That's a bold statement, one that I disagree with thoroughly.
His scores are as much of a characters in those films as Godzilla. They're equally as compelling and interesting.
Am I the only one who thought "new beginning" (æ–°ãŸãªå§‹ã¾ã‚Š-Aratana hajimari) or "restart" (å†èµ·å‹•-SakidÅ) sounded like good ideas?
Translations recovered from Google Translate and Denshi Jisho online Japanese dictionary.
Creepypastas. One of the many forms of horror-fiction that do not frighten me whatsoever. I wish I could do better though.
No like I said the legendary series is what it should be called and sound much better
I hope we have humor. Like the Lord of the Rings trilogy had. They were able to have humor at like the battles and stuff and it the movie even better.
Maybe we'll see a character that's a bit of a "smartass" in the movie, that's the only way that we might see humor.
"That's alot of fish"
and those WERE teh best questions, especially the one about the atomic breathe. so we shoould probably be expecting the classic atomic breathe, no need to "revamp" it or anything
Its more in the spirit of Godzilla than I expected. Not bad.
Sounds like a low pitched version of Gigan roar.
To me, Cloverfield had a very haunting and eery cry. For me, that added to the atmosphere. Of course, Cloveefiled was simply meant to be an animal. The Mutos are supposed to be actively melevolent (according to the film description). Now Cloverfield was meant to be mysterious, resigned to sporaticglimpses until it's big reveal. So the eery and haunting nature of it's calls made sense. Now the muto call is a little haunting, but is much more intimidating given how they are supposed to be monsters. It definately has an alien quality to it, which would make sense as it's like nothing in our world today. Anyway, i like it, i think i've rambled enough.
It'll have a few humorous moments, but in the end, I think said moments will be more awkward than actually funny. They might warrant that uneasy chuckle, but nothing HAHA! as far as I can speculate.
Durpoo4-
I'm a little bit older than you so my memory is a bit better to recall that time. I will tell you definitely a 98 site did existed (fan-made), yes, its rather crude by today's standard. The world wide web was more basic back then after all. The details of that site is where my my memory becomes a bit hazy. All I remember is that it didn't have tha level of engagement with the characters as this film. It was all focused on Godzilla (and what a bummer that turned out to be).
But I agree, it is quite possible that given the more limited access to the internet back then, there is less coverage of the fans, so it is possible there would have been greater anticipation for the characters had there been a similar access. That is a possibility.
@GodzillatheKing123- As much as I agree that Twilight is not an outstanding example of literature, let's refrain from insulting Dracula's disowned nephew's disowned cousins, shall we? We don't need the Twibrats of that fanbase hoarding over here to start a war they will inevitably lose.
As for everything you said, I completely agree with.
Also, how would someone say Godzilla is stupid or childish, when he is, by all evidence, neither of these things? Being the metaphor he was, is and always will be, there is truly nothing stupid or childish about him. Except for his frequent denial of the laws of physics. Poor Megalon.
As a last note, I'd like to point out that where I live, Twilight's fanbase is, sadly enough, comprised of more adult women than teenage girls.
Thank you Danzilla93.
And Anguirus the Great and Powerful, to answer your question, yes it is. It says so in the article. Question 15.
@KaijuFan2014- I have to agree with DaiKaiju_Danielle on this one. It is definitly not quite that good.
Who knows, though, as this is but a sliver of what is to come.
Well aren't you a helpful bunch?
Dang it, Mods, close this topic and the other like it, down!
Is it going to be a free download?
Great interview! Congratulations to everyone who had their questions answered! :D
Oh, and KingKaijuGojira:

There you go!
Actually Chris never said he would ask all questions. He said he would ask the most asked and best asked questions. And apparently those are the ones he picked.
meh, itll do the job fine. but it's not memorable, not like the other toho monsters imo
Garyzilla, I think that's Godzilla tail from one of the S.H. Monsterarts figures.
