We deserve an actual "fighting" godzilla game. I'm not too fond of the candycrush clone we have now. Pacific Rim got a real good fighter mobile game, and Godzilla really deserves one.

But I'm finding it hard to see that because if you read the interview with the people who made Godzilla Smash, they said they originally were going to make it a fighter genre, but gave that up and trashed the idea in favor of candycrush style gameplay. Why would they go back to an idea they trashed? You know MAYBE if we are lucky we'll get one (slim chance though seeing how simpler games get more revenue and downloads), but Godzilla does deserve a good game.

Agreed. Just as long as there is no character that can destroy you in 1 hit, I'll be fine.

It's hard to say why people don't like, but my guess is that it might make people feel uncomfortable. In the original it is just monster takes the girl, guys go in to save her, bring the monster to new york and we kill it, simple but it works. Like DAIKAIJU_DANIELLE said the PJ one goes in depth about the relationship between kong and ann. It brings people out of their comfort zone because of the genuine bond shared between ann and kong. That or some people don't know a good movie if it bit them in the butt

Yeahh I totally agree, Warner Bros' game company should think about a fighting game for Godzilla, since theyre helping out with the movie.

Id have it a 3d gameplay like the pacific rim game btw

Old news, but cool news! :) I actually typed the whole thing into a thread a long while ago to share it because I couldn't copy and paste it.  But the synopsis is pretty sick! 

I hope this Godzilla rivals Jackson's Kong. Masterpiece. Beginning to end. Every character grew on you, Kong's reveal was awesome, the story stuck close to the original but wasn't afraid to do its own thing- just all around beautiful film.

I loved Jack Black's perfomance most. I've come across people who have said "Jack Black? The comedian? In King Kong- playing a serious role? I'm already turned off!" I feel awful that their capacity for film and imagination is not-so gargantuan.

And your video is AWESOME you sir are a true Godzilla fan, I know I havent seen any of the intries yet besides yours but all Ill say right now is hope you get in and win ;)

I would have to say I am best with anguirus (no surprise) and space Godzilla.anguirus because I love his speed and how he turns into a ball, and then space Godzilla because he is just so over powered abd I have memorized all his combos

Well, the 2005 King Kong has a lot of relevance to a discussion or website involving a new Godzilla film!  I have compaired the two often, as both are big budget adaptations/remakes/reboots of classic monster films, but with some form of contrmporary update.  Looking at how that film handled the monster, story and effects will be an excelent clue to what we can expect when we go to theaters in a mere 32 days. :)

As for the topic... Daikaiju_Danielle, I have NO IDEA what anyone could find objectionable about Peter Jackson's King Kong!  People never cease to baffle me.  The movie is honestly one of my all time favorite films as well, and adapts the classic tale of the original King Kong perfectly.  Its effects are breathtaking even nearly a decade later, and its score always brings a tear to my eye.  Best of all, however, it took the Beauty and the Beast concept from the original film and improved upon it, making Kong's death truly gut wrenching.  There was a connection between Ann and Kong that was not present in the original, and was just creepy in the 1976 version.  It could not have been handled more perfectly.

Peter Jackson has sited the original Kong as not only his favorite film of all time, but the movie that got him making movies himself.  There was no better choice to direct the movie.  Its no easy task to remake one of the greatest films of all time, but he did it, and produed what may be the best ramake of all time.  I believe the success of the film was due largely to the approach the filmmakers took: the new Kong was not a remake, but rather a tribute and a thank you to the men and women who made the original possible.  Its this, as well as the directing, the script, the acting (particularly the incredible Andy Serkis as Kong himself), and the breath taking effects that make the film a very special one.

Long story short: I will defend this movie until the end! :)

I honestly like PJ's King Kong.

But yes, I could do without the length. 3 hours should be left to LoTR.

The king kong remake that I've seen people dislike A LOT is the 1977 remake with Jeff Bridges, but a lot of people liked Peter Jacksons KK. The only complaints I've seen some people have with Peter Jacksons version is the length (I personally have no problem with it, I actually love the extended version which is over 3 hours long). The 2005 King Kong is my favorite film of all time, so I'm happy to say I don't dislike it!

But I am likely skilled with all monsters. I kick Finn's butt all the time!

No it wasn't hard no. It just used the Winged Muto pic from the first TV spot that was released, the pic of him fighting with Godzilla, his head shot from the extended look and Daikaiju's drawing of hm. It took me a good hour to draw.

King Kong was alright, it wasn't bad but it was long. REALLY LONG. About a good 3 hrs and 51 min long. It was famous for about 2 years until people got bored of it, well some people. Peter Jackson's King Kong was pretty good. I would give it a 7/10. 

I never heard anybody dislike the movie before? I thought it was great:). Don't know why people would hate it? But their is always a group that will hate a movie For a stupid reason.

Well, I think he would be pretty sentient. And like Daikaiju_Danielle said, it was pretty smart of Godzilla 2000 throwing himself into Orgas mouth to blow off Orgas upper body. And remeber in Invasion Of The Astro Monster where Godzilla does a victory dance? Any normal monster wouldnt do that, I suppose. And remember in Godzilla X Megaguirus where Godzilla 2000 cut off one of Megaguirus's hands with his sail fin? So yeah, I think Godzilla would be pretty sentient in the new movie, maybe even detecting attacks before they even come!

I think I know why TOHO allowed America to make a new monster.... Just look at the 1998 movie that we made. Its said that TOHO said that we weren't allowed to make a new monster(they tryed making chimera or somthing) but they said we could use a monster like king ghidora or mothra but for some reason the director or somone said no for some reason. Thanks TOHO for letting us make a monster :) See they didnt allow us to make a monster, it was bad. They let us make a new monster, they enjoy it. Again, Thanks TOHO

2 things. I noticed that the spider everybody thought was going to be the muto had 8 legs, so does the muto(sort of) and the head was almost the same. But I know there is more than 2 and they do have wings. Dont think im just making this up because I saw it on a youtube video from IGN

If Gareth is going for a more realistic approach it makes sense that he would have gills I mean how would he stay underwater for so long at a time. In fact the Godzillasaurus stayed underwater millions of years at a time for hibernation and to survive the extinction of the dinosaurs.

Well to be honest, if Godzilla is the force of nature we can expect him to be in this film than I don't think we'll get to see anything of that sort honestly. What we'll likely be witness to is a unstopable monster making a path through his enemies and overwhelming them all, Muto's included. Ultimately, what intelligence is their in an earthquake, or a storm, or even death itself? Attempting to delve that deep into the monster will serve only to over characterize him and take away from his status as a living plot deviced hellbent on returning the earth to dust and annihilating his enemy, Hokmuto and the Winged kaiju. Of course, that isn't to say that I would mind seeing some advanced intelligence in the collosal monster, it's actually quite the opposite. I just hope Edwards keeps to his word that Godzilla will be a force of nature.

I agree with Godzillasaurus Rex. Godzilla can't be an "unstoppable force of nature" if he is a prey item to other monsters.
