GvK : Best - Jia, Worst - The guy who Bernie annoys at the beginning of the movie
Ok for me I'll just do each movie...
- Godzilla 2014: Best character is Ishiro Seriwaza ("Let them fight.") and the worst is Ford Brody...
- Kong: Skull Island's best was Marlow and the worst was probably....the Brie Larson character because the actress herself I dislike.
- Godzilla: King of The Monsters' best human character was Seriwaza and I gotta give an honorable mention to Madison Russell, who was a very close 2nd (also Millie Bobby Brown is great in everything she does...in acting that is.) My least favorite was anyone who was there to add comedy. 'Nuff said.
- Godzilla Vs. Kong's least mediocre character was Jia, and the lamest characters were Josh and Bernie.
Those are my thoughts, feel free to argue with me if you wish.

UPDATE 09/01/2021:
It's looking like Godzilla vs. Kong has finished in Japan after 9 weeks. The film is no longer being tracked and early estimates keep the film at 1.88 Billion Yen ($17.2 Million USD). It likely didn't move enough tickets to change anything. We await final word in the coming weeks, but it's currently only playing in 39 locations and will be losing most of them tomorrow. It seems to have finished with a 1.25 million in attendance.
As of September 1st, it finishes as the 17th highest grossing and most attended film in Japan this year. It is the 2nd highest grossing Hollywood film of they year behind Fast & Furious 9. It ranks 29th out of 36 most attended in the series and the least grossing/least attended of the Monsterverse. (Kogyotsushin via World of KJ)

I'm curious about that as well. As far as my laundry list of issues with this movie goes, Kong's characterization is not one of them. If anything I felt it was quite easy to be sympathetic toward Kong since he was taken from his home, drugged, put in dangerous waters against a superior threat, dropped into the freezing cold, nearly suffocated by a flying cobra, had his throne room he had just discovered blown to hell and was beaten within an inch of his life by Godzilla only to have a giant "defibrillator" blow up against his chest for a rude awakening with Mecha-Beats-Me-Within-An-Inch-Of-My-Life. All of which could've been avoided had he not been taken from his island by the so-called "Kong whisperer" who was allegedly looking out for his best interests.
The movie could've easily been titled, Kong Has a Really Bad Day.

In his new interpretation Kong traditionally closer to the human race has absolutely no appeal or charisma. He is such a perpetually muttering disgruntled toxic. Therefore the outcome of his battle with the rampaging Japanese foot-and-mouth disease becomes as uninteresting as possible. It's like watching a fight between drunks outside a convenience store from the sidelines. It's an epic movie attraction crawling a bit into Star Wars territory. The plot is only needed to strut the formidable crashing cyberpunk Hong Kong animation. At some point a third force intervenes in the conflict. Who with pathos proclaims his alphasamtsova. This does not cancel out the fact that watching such an abusive troika albeit pleasantly filmed in places in 2021 is simply boring. I watched it on 123movie in 3D effects but even those effects didn't really fix the situation. And I was left with only negative emotions after the movie.
They didn't make this movie any clearer. I expected more. That they would kill each other.

i know, i'm not the best a decisions as well. i usually go for an eeny meeny miny moe approach. but, i also sometimes try to think into the future to see which one i like best. try thinking hard about which figure you think you would be happy with best in the longrun
Depends on which design you like the best. Personally I prefer 1954, but like HinikunaGoji said, it's your decision.

The ad actually appeared when I was watching a review for King Kong Escapes, which is why I immediately noticed the Gorosaurus similarities.

Something I want to emphasize though is that Godzilla films and stories have not always highlighted radiation or the bomb. Going back to what I said about the Godzilla series being a run of stories about how Japan is handling the aftermath of the bomb, I want to point at a movie that has no explicit ties to radiation: All Monsters Attack.
I'll side-step the debate over the film's quality for a moment and focus on its themes. It's a deconstruction of the Japanese nuclear family in the 1960s & '70s, showing what they had to deal with because of the one-sided economic situation. While technically there was an economic boom at the time, all of the money was going to big corporations. Japan had shifted into democratized capitalism as opposed to the feudal version they had maintained during WWII.
By the 1960s modern capitalism in Japan was barely 30 years old and the number reaping its benefits was uneven. All Monsters Attack highlights this with families living in downtrodden/polluted areas, tiny apartment homes, parents who are both working and unable to raise their children, crime on the rise, etc.
All of that to say, All Monsters Attack may not have anything to do with the bomb or even WWII. But the film highlights some of the many cascade effects the bomb had on post-war Japan. Japan's defeat by the bomb led to Milo Rowell and Courtney Witney westernizing Japan's constitution and, by extension, their economic system. This system constricted many families in the '60s until the bubble finally burst in 1992 when the Japanese stock market crashed. Post-American occupation, Japan was left to their own devices in order to cope with these new systems--Setting them up for failure in the long run.
It has nothing to do with the bomb or radiation, but what better character to highlight these post-war pains than Godzilla? I think there's plenty of places Godzilla can go, and has gone (thematically), that relates back to Japan's defeat without directly being tied into the bomb/radiation.
It seems more disconnected though. The mentions of radiation we get at all is a chart showing Godzilla’s contamination after atomic breath and a mention of the element radon (which is radioactive.)
I was going to finish the thought I do think that even if not said radiation is very applicable in the story. Archetype clouds do seem to stylistically resemble mushroom clouds. But I think the most poignant example could be the scene where professor li dies. There’s a bomb like cloud and Rodan come soon after. The survivors hide under what appears to be thick concrete
I’d just like more of an implied connection. I think directly stating it might ruin it, but implying it would add a whole lot to the origin

Given that there's still a great deal yet to be resolved in Singular Point, the nagging question of why monsters appeared in our dimension has the opportunity to alleviate these issues. And if not there's still enough post-war and (oddly enough) pre-WWII thematic elements that keep it tied to the monster and its kin. As I've said before, it's less about the bomb and more about the figurative fallout that followed. Godzilla may have been born of the bomb, but he existed in the post-war, which is by and large what the series has been about.
The Monsterverse was problematic with how it played with the subject of radioactivity/the bomb from the get-go. But after King of the Monsters I'm convinced it shouldn't even bother--Though GvK is not a suitable alternative. If there are to be more, I hope it angles its themes with more significant thought.
