So we're only 6 days away from Godzilla vs. Kong's release in theaters and HBO Max.  So I should give some of my last thoughts and expectations for the movie, here we go.

Final Thoughts:

- After the divisive response to Godzilla: King of the Monsters, GVK's response will most likely determine the future of the series.

- I honestly still think Kong could, should, and will win.

- I do think the runtime is a bit short, but I hope they can still flesh out the story.

Expectations for GVK:

- Kong winning

- Brief team-up to fight MechaGodzilla

- There will be Easter Eggs hinting at the future of the MonsterVerse.

- Two credits scenes

- ACTUALLY GOOD human characters

- This movie being a great movie.

That's all for now!

Comment below...and get ready for the ultimate showdown because Godzilla vs. Kong comes out in 6 days!!!

I hope it will just at least be dumb fun. My expectations for this movie are in the gutter, so hopefully it'll entertain at minimum.

And no more usage of nuclear themes, please. America just can't pull it off.

It’s hard for people admitting they did something wrong. The horrifying thing that is the Nuclear weapon should not be in the hands of anyone

And Gman, why are your expectations in the gutter?

@Sonic

Godzilla King of the monsters are why his expectations are low. He really didn’t like the movie. It’s his opinion.

I'm just wondering if there was any other reasons besides KOTM.

sonictiger,
Largely because of King of the Monsters. I also don't think the Monsterverse has anything new to offer at this point. It's sorta spiraled into less meaningful narratives by each movie and while not everything needs to be a message movie, you start noticing something missing when Godzilla vs. Megalon has a more thought provoking take on nuclear proliferation...

But hey, maybe it will surprise me. Otherwise, I hope I have fun watching two cinema icons duking it out after 59 years.

Yeah....unfortunately, I don't think we'll agree on this movie when both of us give our verdicts on the movie.

I'm probably going to end up praising this film to high heck even more than KOTM.

I can’t wait for it. I loved the first trailer when it dropped, and for the most part I’ve completely avoided seeing anything more since. Been a Kong and Godzilla fan for a very long time, and for me, the MonsterVerse has gotten better with each movie. Loved Skull Island and KOTM and I’m hoping I like this one at least as much. It looks to be a shitload of fun, which is what I want from these movies. Plus, I've waited since 1970 or so (when I first saw KK Vs G) to see these two go at it again!

I really liked the dazzling visuals in KoTM. I’d rather not have a grey filter on this film. Based on the trailer it’s gonna be toned more down than KOTM
