Simply put, the nuke is the one thing that is the saving grace in the movie. Burning Godzilla also practically nukes the entirety of Boston to kill Ghidorah, which, though Ghidorah was defeated, Boston was entirely destroyed. Also, the radiation fallout is seen as a good thing rather than a bad thing, as the titans leave behind radiation that bolsters plant life. HOWEVER, the original 1954 film portrayed the nuclear fallout as a horrific thing. The two films differ vastly in terms of the view Nuclear energy/power. Is Godzilla: king of the monsters saying Nuclear power is a nessacary evil?
