a cool story for godzilla 3!!!!!!

I personally don't like the idea of the government purposely making monsters to fight other monsters. If monsters are, born or powered up through humanities failures at trying to stop the monsters that's another thing, but going and creating monsters just doesn't seem logical.

It'd be cool for a Toho movie, but Legendary is going for a realistic approach.

MechaGodzilla: maybe if they dug up the Godzilla bones they found in the cave from the first movie, it could be done in a way to keep in line with Legendary's realistic approach, but the way you described? No way.

And definitely no on Gigan. 

Those weren't Godzilla bones. Besides, building a machine around bones is ridiculous. 

Actually, Wolfguy, those were Godzilla bones, as mentioned in the special features of the Blu-Ray/DVD releases of the movie. Though, the idea of building a machine in the likeness of a giant monster around the skeleton of a deceased member of its species is pretty farfetched for any sort of Human in the Legendary-verse to attempt to do.

They're basically just like they are in the real world, but have to deal with movie-physics giant monsters.

^Actually, the humans would ideally want to protect themselves from future monster threats after the MUTO invasion, so it's not completely out of the realm of possibility for them to. Besides, like I said earlier, it's more realistic than a giant three-headed space dragon that can friggin' shoot lightning from his mouths, and they're gonna be giving us one of those in the sequel, so a MechaGodzilla is not a no-can-do in the Legendary Verse, nothing, short of aliens and whatnot appearing is with him being in it. 

The problem with that, KManX89, is that King Ghidorah is almost certainly out of the hands of Humanity. Sure, the actual idea isn't anymore realistic than Mecha-Godzilla, but we have to remember that only one instance of the character was ever acually created by Humans, and most people preferred the alien origin anyways.

That, and giant monsters in general are unrealistic. However, the Legendary-verse is an attempt at showing how the real world would deal with movie-level beasts of such titanic proportions and power. I'm pretty sure the last thing real Humans would attempt to do in response is a giant robot, even in light of a giant three-headed space dragon.

There's actually plenty good reason to use monster bones as its base: it's by far the easiest way to build such a machine that the humans would feasibly want to protect themselves from future kaiju with after the MUTO invasion BTW. Monster bones would also help with supporting it and whatnot, them building a human-shaped mech from scratch wouldn't have such a luxury. 

As for a reason for them building it, I just gave you a valid reason in my last post. 

I agree that the threat of more giant monsters is something that'll prompt Humanity to get to work on new countermeasures. However, a giant mechanical protector presents all sorts of problems, both practical and logical, that prevent it from being one of the main options to field against the oncoming threat of these creatures.

First and foremost, the very idea itself. Why would a robotic protector be the most effective countermeasure? It's costly, would require unbelievably high amounts of time, research, and resources to build up and maintain, and the fact that such a thing has never been successfully done except on a smaller scale.

Even then, it's still relatively finnicky and imperfect. If we can't even get Human-sized free moving robots up and working smoothly, how are we gonna get a giant one working, even with the basic underlying structure already available? Not only that, but other options are almost certainly more appealing in terms of building, research, resources, and time.

For example, for Humanity right now, what sounds like a more feasible option? Testing new biowarfare agents, enhanced missile systems, etc., or a giant Godzilla-esque robot?

The difference is, a tank/aircraft can be very easily destroyed by Godzilla or any giant monster, and there's no guarantee these "advanced" missiles will even be all that effective against them, if at all, because by advanced missile, I surmise you mean arm our military with them. Whereas a giant mech can actually face em head on and have a much higher probability of success. And yes, it would cost a ton of money and take a long time to build, but you could always throw in a plot device (billionaire CEO) to make it work, and they would have 4+ years to build it following the events of G14. 

As far as anatomical capabilities, that shouldn't be such an issue in a giant monster movie. Otherwise, why isn't Godzilla (or any of the other kaiju for that matter) collapsing under his own weight?
