My Retitling: GODZILLA: Muto Invasion.

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-29-2014 3:31 AMNo it shouldn't and your re title, no offense, sound absolutely stupid.

But Kaijujira, it really doesnt need to be re titled, Godzilla is the lead man and you do see enough of him to allow it to be titled Godzilla. Also there wore only 2 Mutos so i dont know how it could be an invasion.
Good grief.

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-29-2014 9:04 AMTo be fair, the other movies ever titled Godzilla featured only Godzilla, such as the 1954 original, and the 1998 remake. The the screen time ratio of godzilla:total is larger in those films.
As the start of a new series, I like. But I just hope that Legendary doesn't do a Lucasfilm and rename the series several times.

AdminGodzillaSep-29-2014 10:01 AMDespite the fact this is the fourth movie to be titled just "Godzilla" I don't see any point in officially retitling it. I think the 1998 movie is in greater need of being retitled and it's pretty clear that will never happen.

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-03-2014 5:59 PMAs a reboot to a franchise centered on Godzilla, regardless of how little footage of him exists, I think the title is just fine. It's the first movie in a new trilogy of Godzilla movies, and if there were a subtitle to this film it would feel rather awkward as this reboot treats it as the first Godzilla film and ignores all Toho lore and established understanding of the creature save for his near impregnable hide and the use of his atomic breath.
Renaming it just because of general fan dissatisfaction at the lack of Godzilla footage is hardly reason enough to change the title.
