Meh, seems like the continuation of Godzilla (1998). At the end of the '98 film, an egg is revealed in the rubble of Madison Square Garden. So this theory would only be revelant to a sequel of the '98 film.

Yeah I know that but I see it as a similar yet different scenario, because lets say its like Destroy All Monsters but Godzilla is being targeted by other kaiju with only Rodan and Mothra on his side, he perishes with them in an attempt to restore balance. But secretly Serizawa discovers the egg, which creates hope formmankind

But, remember that Godzilla is a male in the Legendary film. He cant produce any eggs because he is not asexual like the '98 Godzilla. There would have to be a female of the same species in order for the egg to be produced.

You know what's funny? If you look at the top of the egg it says "JP" Guess jurassic park has gone huge this time. XD

The fact Godzilla is a male has never stopped there from being babies in the prior series.

In all seriousness, it could be a dormant egg, not even Godzillas biological son, maybe adopted although if Godzilla does have a mate, she would probably stay underwater with the egg while he goes out to restore balance. I dunno, something like that

We'll just have to wait to the sequel.

That was done in the Heisei series to anextent, although they introduced the egg and we saw little G grow up. 

Godzilla316, undertaker is the first inductee into the hall of fame next year.
