MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-04-2014 7:14 PMThis topic is one that i have found not talked about, how will the new Godzilla die? Almost every generation of the king had a point when their time came to die. The first King died when the oxygen destroyer killed him because of the lack of oxygen. Then the next King died from Destroyah which came from the oxygen destroyer and the meltdown from the snd Godzilla gave birth to Godzilla 2000. The only problem is that Godzilla 2000 died mysteriosly but I think it was from natural causes. So every Godzilla died in some way but how will this Godzilla die? Will a monster kill him, will he die from the army(unlikely), or will he not die at all? What do you think, post your comments and/ or how you think Godzilla will be born mabye?

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-04-2014 7:21 PMSimple. He won't. If you remember Gareth Edwards' words, he said that the story is "Man vs. Nature". A fight you can't win. I imagine Godzilla swimming off to the ocean, to hibernate. Besides, if they kill him off, people will view him as Zilla's successor.(At least the non-fans)

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-04-2014 7:22 PMquite the contrary this has been talked about quite a lot in the past. i recently posted a topic on this myself

Smaug The Magnificent
MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-04-2014 7:22 PMI dout he would die in the first movie but if he were to be killed in the sequel, it would probably be due to a monster much larger than himself.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-04-2014 7:25 PMA monster much larger than himself? So, if he fights a mountain-sized Kaiju, he'll perish? Not gonna happen, bro. Well, maybe. Who knows? Godzilla's power is inconsistent.

But I would much preffered if he lived and the chaos still continued just like in Cloverfield.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-04-2014 9:39 PM@Mecha Rodan, actually after the first Godzilla died at the hands of Dr. Serizawa and the Oxygen Destroyer, a second Godzilla appeared in Godzilla Raids Again and it was determined that the 2nd Godzilla was of the same species as the first. As for the continuity in the Showa series, there was none.It was completely ignored until 1984 with The Return of Godzilla which was a direct sequel to the 1954 film. As for the Heisei series, it's a bit iffy on continuity after Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah becuase they time travel and jump around, ignoring the continuity yet again. Now, in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, Godzilla Jr. did not become Godzilla 2000, Jr.'s rebirth was just to symbolize that Godzilla will always be present. It appears to be unclear where Godzilla 2000 stands in regards to continuity in the series, but with the latter films in the Millennium series, they are all direct sequels to the first film (not including Tokyo S.O.S which was a direct sequel to Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla.) Final Wars...I'm not even going to begin to try and pinpoint where that fits in to the series, but as for your question as to how this new Godzilla will die? I'll lev you with a quote from Godzilla 1985, "No matter what happens, Godzilla will live."

Godzilla 2000 and none of the Godzilla's from the Millenium era died. Godzilla 2000 was shown setting fire to Japan after he defeated Orga and the end credits rolled. Godzilla in G x Megaguirus did not die as you heard him roar and the ground shake after the end credits. The Godzilla in Tokyo S.O.S. was badly injured and carried deep into the sea by Kiryu but was not presumed dead. The closest one to actually dying was the GMK Godzilla when he blew up but you still saw his heart beating on the ocean floor which implied a sequel of some sort. I guess you could make a case that the heart could've merged with another life form to become a different monster, but that's another story. And of course Godzilla in Final Wars walked off unscathed.
What is interesting about each Godzilla era is that you never learn what became of the offspring. We never saw Minya from the Showa era grow to adult form and star in a movie or two and Toho never followed through with plans to have Godzilla Junior graduate to his own series of films. It would have been very cool to have Minya in Final Wars grow into another adult Godzilla and fight alongside his father against Kaiser Ghidora and Gigan but that never happened.
We should come up with creative ideas on how Godzilla should die in the new series (not that I want to see that) and then do a poll. That's one thing I haven't seen on this site unless I'm just not seeing it somewhere.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-05-2014 2:30 AMI'm getting sick of seeing this, this is about the 50th will/how godzilla would die. The director said this may quite possibly be a reboot to a new generation of Godzilla films, with that motive, I highly doubt he'll die.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-05-2014 2:45 AMOh, and inb4 the "fake" comments, Yeah I grabbed this from wiki, but this isn't the only thing that states it's a reboot. I'm just too tired to search for it.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-05-2014 5:18 AMI don't think he will die to be honest. If he does then I think Dr Serizawa will create a weapon like the oxygen destroyer like the original and then he will kill him with that.
